Blue Turbo
These slides are looking great, I will definitely have to head back the park this summer, especially after the great time I had last year

jray21
I love how bright and colorful it is. It relays stands out against the puke brown of Nevada.
Kyle Coleman
Never heard it called puke brown of Nevada before. I like it and think I will steal the use of it the next time that comes up.
MayTheGForceBeWithYou
Wow, I never really got a good perspective of just how massive these are. They really dominate the skyline!

DoinItForTheFame
So glad to see a lift for the rafts. Not having to carry the tubes up the stairs is such a nice relief.
_koppen
Here's the first video of the family raft. Looks like it will have some decent speed!
VegasBaby
The new slides look great, can't wait to check them out next month! I wonder if the Wild Surf slide will be more or less intense than the Proslide Tornado funnel type slide? I'm just glad they installed the raft conveyor belts, lugging those huge rafts up 6 flights of stairs would suck.
_koppen
New drone photo! Sure would be nice with some more grass in there Source
USCoaster
^ Based on the current water shortage issues the entire Southwest USA is experiencing, I would be very surprised (and possibly even disappointed) if Cowabunga Bay installed more real grass. If they are able to use reclaimed water then it might be OK, but otherwise, it seems like a waste of water for a business that uses a lot of water to begin with (and loses a lot to evaporation in the hot dry summers). montezooma
Contrary to belief water parks use less water than most major commercial and residential developments. We use less water than an apartment complex, major retail center, housing development and here in Las Vegas, any Hotel and Casino.

_koppen
These rides looks great! This one sure is twisty! I relly like the colors of them both, they match very nicely. Looks like they are having some speed problems on the wave, and need to trim it. Source
CoasterCrazy88
I'm excited about finally visiting the park next month (or in June)! Both family-raft slides look very bright and welcoming, just like the rest of the attractions. Those "trims" in the photo of Wild Surf look really interesting. I don't think I've seen anything like that before.

I don't think I've seen anything like that before. Glad you are getting a chance to visit the park, I think you'll really enjoy it. The new family raft slide, Beach Blanket Bingo, is a lot of fun and it's a nice long, twisty ride. The "trims" you see in that Wild Surf photo aren't trims at all, they were steps for the workers to use going up and down the slide. We went to the park yesterday and the wooden steps were all removed. Wild Surf is scheduled to open on Memorial Day weekend and it looks ready to go, I can't wait to try it out. It was a little chilly yesterday but it kept the crowds away, so every slide was a walk on. My son and I were able to marathon Zuma Zooma, the trap door body slide, and had a blast. I love these trap door drop slides and Zuma is probably my second favorite after the Scorpion's Tail at Noah's Ark.

VegasBaby
Looks like I'll be visiting the park this Saturday or Sunday! Can't wait to see and experience it. I would go directly to Wild Surf and ride it a few times right at opening. It's definitely the most popular slide in the park and gets a pretty long line later in the day. It's a great slide and the drop in is crazy, much more intense than a Proslide Tornado. I would suggest getting four people in the raft as it's better with more weight. jray21
I wasn't able to make it to the park. I was planning on going on Sunday, but my boss arrived early on Sunday so I wasn't able to go. So bummed. Oh well, it's not going anywhere anytime soon!
KBrylczyk
Just got back from the park's new Disco Nights event! That was awesome! I don't have any photos since, well, electronics and water don't mix. Hopefully Shane will be able to share some of his own! Anyway, the event was a ton of fun! The park was open until 10pm with some great accent lighting all around the park and tons of disco music playing all around! The staff members were getting into it with dancing and singing and even wearing huge, ridiculous 70s wigs (afros, up-dos, etc)! The atmosphere was great! All of the guests were having a great time and commenting on how pretty the park was and were also dancing to the music. I saw smiles everywhere for every age. Might as well mention Wild Surf, too. Ummmm, HOLY CRAP! This thing is downright terrifying! The drop into the wave has ejector airtime that's more intense than any coaster I've been on! It's massive and you get completely drenched, all while laughing like an idiot. Tons of fun and an incredible addition to an already top notch park! Beach Blanket Banzai, the other family raft addition this year, is much more mild but still very fun to ride. If you get spinning you'll have even more fun! It's very long and provides a beautiful trip with the Lake Mead Recreation Area on the horizon. Great work by the Cowabunga Bay crew on this event!
