OCJ48 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 It seems one of this company's deathcoasters malfunctioned spectacularly over the weekend. I figured it would be better to put it in this thread rather than making a new one. The ride was built in 2005. All images from coastercrazy.com, where the (Google-translated?) story is. Link.
A.J. Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Are they the same company who put the ridiculous "roller coaster made in China" label on the sides of trains?

stormrider Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 So much for having the wheels outside the rails making a smoother ride
GigaG Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 NEWS - 11 Inversion coaster delayed- http://www.rcdb.com/9821.htm The name is revealed as "Journey to the Stars" and it is delayed to 2013, apparently. The Golden horse "Surfing Boat" water coaster - http://www.rcdb.com/10461.htm - is apparently open, but no pictures. The fake SLC is still not open, according to RCDB- http://www.rcdb.com/10226.htm
spinning man Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 The name is revealed as "Journey to the Stars" and it is delayed to 2013, apparently. Journey to the stars!? I think they should call it Journey to the hospital. With all that roughness, it will shatter you to bits.
GigaG Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 ^Hopefully, they will get their crap together for the 11 inversion coaster.
cymonster-rex Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 ^Hopefully, they will get their crap together for the 11 inversion coaster. if i every ride this thing i hope i will still have my crap together
neovortex2k Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 This looks shocking. How are these people allowed to operate?
gisco Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 ^It's China. Exactly! Some of the rides we went on a few years ago there were a little sketchy. Can't wait to see what TPR runs into this September!

Lone Wanderer Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Well, at least they didn't fuck up the boat ride!
TetsuneSonic Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 The Fake SLC is Opened(Aug 13th) Quelle http://bbs.luanren.com/thread-4507963-1-1.html
spinning man Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I am surprised how they are allowed to make those things. I thought the patent system would not allow them to make such track or trains, since vekoma own the rights.
coasterfreak101 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I am surprised how they are allowed to make those things. I thought the patent system would not allow them to make such track or trains, since vekoma own the rights. This is China.
3Mutts Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 ^^ Copy right? What is copy right? In all seriousness, there is no such thing as copy right laws in China. But dear god that SLC looks PAINFUL!
coastercrazy 9 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 That looks dangerous, even for China's standards! Now don't get me wrong, China seems to have some great coasters, which is why I am amazed that the public there still considers these rideable!
GigaG Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Have you ridden any of these, TetsuneSonic? Has anybody ridden these? I have some hope these won't be as crappy as they look, but they ARE knockoffs, the water coaster looks like a Mack coaster (I think that's what I'm thinking of?)
Commando Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 ^^ Copy right? What is copy right? In all seriousness, there is no such thing as copy right laws in China. But dear god that SLC looks PAINFUL! I know a guy who runs and engineering company that does a lot of international work. When ever they have businessmen from Asia they lock up, move, or simply don't allow them in an areas that might have something they could copy. Just like the Soviets did, the Chinese steal most of their technology from the west.
The Yeti Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 It looks like the line doesn't use gates like most, or all coasters, in America. It looks like in the station they have the retractable straps that you would find like a queue at a movie theater...
GigaG Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Bump. We haven't heard much about Journey to the Stars, but recently, a NoLimits recreation was posted from who I believe is the guy who used to be TetsuneSonic (I think.) I don't know if this guy knows the true layout, but this version of the ride looks pretty good (probably somewhat of an improvement on Colossus if it had been genuine with the newer restraints.) Some things to note- -The bunny hop is retained -The cobra roll goes the other way, so the corkscrews are positioned differently -The ride appears to have been crapified by the addition of a perfectly straight Arrow-esque drop. -The moving of the corkscrews seems to make the transition into them less twisted based on the Colossus POV Now, I don't know how the real thing will turn out, but here's the closest thing we have- (couldn't get the embedding to work) or http://www.youtubedoubler.com/?video1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DXxO1S_fHS8g&start1=109&video2=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DKeKIBSN2F5c&start2=34&authorName=GigaG
