Louise
It's Lexical-Functional Grammar in Syntactic Theory and it's officially the HARDEST. CLASS. EVER. I'm almost looking forward to failing the damn exam for this one just so I never have to look at another stupid textbook or handout for it ever again. Oh wait, if I fail that means I have to do re-sits and not travel next summer.... Waaaahhhhh!! Sorry Elissa, the Advil's in the mail!
ebl
^ Why must you take that class? How will it benefit you? My rant for the day...we have to come up with some gag gifts for a guy who's retiring (former department head at a company for which we are subcontracted work). Trouble is, none of us knew him well enough to come up with anything really good. And for some reason, this actually takes precedence over our regular work. Rather stupid, really. Louise
^ I have absolutely no clue. I can't for the life of me see how it will ever be even remotely useful to me, unless I choose a career as a researcher of grammar. But who the hell would do that?! It was my only compulsory module this semester, so unfortunately I was stuck with it, and will continue to be so unless I pass it this week. Hattuchili
My damn tooth hurts again! That means I have to go back to my dentist! I really hate him. He told me everything will be okay, now the tooth hurts again! Grrr.... --Sören
momo1tx
^ Go to a different one! Occasionally there are bad dentists, like one I had who said my last baby tooth was "stuck" in my mouth and wouldn't fall out unless he pulled it, and then it fell out weeks later. the sound
my rant: the annoying fat people that clog the sub 25 sceond lanes at swimming pools. and the people that lie at the end of the lane, making it impossible to tumble turn!

krouvi
I hate getting up in the morning and suffer from it. It's been like that for years - every day the same inner fight betwerrn my real need to carry on sleeping, and the need to get my ass to the office. I hate mornings!!! I should start the day at 13:00 and end it at 3:00 in the morning . Anyway there I am everyday makign crazy efforts just in order to wake up on time and than at work the first 2 hours are efforts to wake my brain up as well. Hate mornings . Hattuchili
Yeah, I had a great morning at my dentist! It really hurt there! After that 1,5 hours he told me there is another tooth he has to check in a few weeks. Damn, the tooth doesn´t hurt! However, I hope everything will be okay before I leaving Germany! --Sören

Meteornotes
So I go to the eye doctor the other week since I want to get contacts. During the exam, the doctor finds some sort of problem in my eye, and sends me to a specialist. I go to the specialist, and he sends me to another specialist (a requirement by my healt insurance provider). I go there yesterday, and they perform all sorts of tests on me. One of the tests involves some sort of dye being injected into my body. Some people feel faint/sick from it, some might get hives, and a very small number will get rapid heart beats. I've never had any problems like this, so I don't worry about it. Well, a few minutes in, I'm dizzier than I have ever been in my life, and the next thing I know they're making me lay down on the floor. I got better after a bit, but I have never felt like that in my life. It was like I spent the day on a gravitron or something. That was a really bizarre experience. Anyway, I need some more tests, but there's some sort of leak in my eye that they're going to perform laser surgery on. So long as I don't get any more strange substances injected into me, hopefully it will go OK... dt
Hattuchili
^ OMG, that sounds really strange, Dave! You know I am an optician and I have heard a lot of eye doctor storys, but never anything like that! I hope you feel better and that they´ll never inject that stuff to you again! --Sören
waterviper
It was like I spent the day on a gravitron or something. dt So if you took this injection and went on gravitron it could possibly cancel each other out so you wont get dizzy!!! Hmmm maybe this is a breakthrough in not getting dizzy on spin rides!!!
coasters 4 me
I am pretty pissed of at the minute because our school uniform is changing. We got a new headmaster and the school has totally been transformed and loads of building has been going on and the school looks brilliant. Although, he thinks that since the school has changed, we might as well take a fresh start and change the uniform. And if you want to see what this uniform will look like, click on the link. It is horrible. http://www.regenthouse.org.uk/ I think they are better keeping the old uniform.
Louise
^ Ewww. Mine wasn't too bad. Grey/black skirt/trousers, white shirt, grey tie with gold stripes, and grey sweatshirt with gold logo. Black shoes. But my high school has gone seriously down hill recently, and they now have a new headteacher, she turned around some of the Oldham schools that were having problems with race riots. She's introducing blazers.... The scals are rejoicing.
ebl
Why do people put apostrophes on plurals? Looking at the topic "Tattoo's" brought that to mind. It's not "shoe's" or "car's" or "ride's." I mean, come on...didn't they teach you better? Eric

coasters 4 me
OK, about my uniform, they have decided that they are definitely going to change it. We had a meeting about the uniform yesterday to view the uniform and there were Boo's coming from everywhere. Even the 1st years were Booing. I am in 3rd year and there where loads. We got a piece of paper to select which one to choose. Many people just ripped it up and threw it down in the Corridors. So I am not very happy about it. momo1tx
My rant: Why does Barnes & Noble suck so much compared to Borders?!? They have a crappier selection of books and music, charge a ton for both, and unlike Borders, you can only listen to a 30-second segment of songs, and only a few at that. In Borders, you can listen to all of all songs.

waterviper
Half rant, half praise Rant: I cant believe some of the dummies that have signed up and have posted very stupid topics in the forums lately!! They sure are keeping the TPR admins and TPR assistants busy lately!! Even Robb had to re-post some important TOS rules!! Most of the new people are young and need to be set straight about proper forum posting! He really shouldn't have to re-post some of the more important TOS rules because it is proper to read any TOS before posting in any forums!! But since the newer people are young and ignorant I guess Robb has to take certain steps in order to make sure TPR forums are run smoothly!! Praise: I am glad and very appreciative that the admins and TPR assistance take the efforts to go through and weed out the riff raff and the annoying trouble makers in the forums!! If this was not done, the TPR forums would be one big mess of useless banter and chaos! Thank you once again Robb and everyone else that helps here to keep it clean!!
