Mark Rosenzweig Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Is it just me, or does this belong in the Rumor Thread? It's just you. Good night.
Carnage Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 It wouldn't surprise me, what with those damn G-trains.

Is it just me or maybe you should read this thread: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31454 Your obnoxious attitude here lately is exactly what that thread is about. --Robb
Guest Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Mark it isn't just you. I had a friend at GL yesterday that told us it happened. He said the train is covered with a tarp and that no one was injured when it did happen. I didn't find anything on the net about it either, but it really shocked me to hear that it happened.
Homer Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Another Geauga credit missed on the Midwest trip. Anyways, I am also not sure whether or not this is true. I looked on the only GL fansite I know of (Geauga Guide) and their forums had nothing.
OFortuna Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 ^ and it's you too. I didn't see anything anywhere about this, If you weren't there and heard it from a friend it's likely to be 98% rumour and 2% Truth. Yeah, the dude who sells amusement rides for a living is getting his info from the Dippin Dots man. Lurk and learn.
Bubba Z Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 I also got the same message Katie and Mark. 3 people all with the same story, how can it not be true? Unless it's the Coastermania Hoax of 2007?
Johnny Upsidedown Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 It seems to be legite. I have read that it seems it may be the G train that derailed or what ever it is that happened. I have read some track seems to be torn up as well.
Chris Benvenuto Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 ^ and it's you too. I didn't see anything anywhere about this, If you weren't there and heard it from a friend it's likely to be 98% rumour and 2% Truth. Yeah, the dude who sells amusement rides for a living is getting his info from the Dippin Dots man. Lurk and learn. Well, sorry. I didn't know that and I sometimes make mistakes and everyone does. Sorry, I stand Corrected.
eltoro06 Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 This sucks...No Raging Wolf Bobs for me now when I go to CP and GL in late July. Atleast this may be an opportunity to get new trains.(PTC tisk tisk) Good to hear that it wasn't a big disaster. This is a big blow for CF though. First Magnum, now this.
carolinacaniac Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Well, if the g-trains failed on a slower, lower coaster like Raging Wolf Bobs, I wonder how they will handle a faster, bumpier Son of Beast?
Reon Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Seriously? Boo! Hopefully they can get it back up and running by next month, if at all. I finally get to go up there and it's down? And what will the GP think? 3 of their coasters just got removed from the park in the last year.
CoasterFanatic Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 ^ What GP? Last I checked they were all over on the other side at the waterpark.
XII Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Oh well, 1 Geauga Lake Credit missed. But that just gives more time on Dominator.
Masked_Maverick Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Proof? link? News story from a credible source? photos? Sorry I won't believe any of this untill I see some real proof.
Arez55 Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Sounds like its starting to come together. I called GL and asked what rides were not operating today, she said that the only ride that was down was Raging Wolf Bobs. However, when I asked her if it would re-open at a later time in the year and she said "Later? Its going to be open tommorow..." -Alex
christianscoasters Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Maybe this was a secret government experiment to destroy the lives of coaster enthusiasts so they don't keep building parks on the land they want to use to construct weapons of mass destruction.
Johnny Upsidedown Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i306/bille3/geaugalakewolfbobincident/investcar.jpg Take a look for your self. Seen this on RRC. J.
Reality15 Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 That's the old G-train, too, not the one they got from Legend. I have a feeling they'll be down to one train operation for quite a while.
CoastersNSich Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Actually, it is the one from Legend, as the cars have the closed fronts on them. Villain's trains (and the third one used on RWB) have the open bars on the front of each car. I rode RWB in the former Villain train somewhat before the incident, and noticed the ride was pretty wild on some turns, but not really uncomfortable. I also saw a fast glimpse of the train (then covered up) from riding Dominator...
kidcoaster Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Dang first the Monorail then X-Flight the Steel Venom and Now Raging Wolf Bobs why does God hate Geauga Lake.
Coasternerdette Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Well, I was at GL yesterday, and I can assure you it is no rumor. It was quite sad seeing the tarped train on the track. I was thankful that we slept in yesterday and didn't go into the park until well after it happened. I'm not a nervous nilly rider, but seeing that might have dampened the day for sure.
ginzo Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I rode this thing a few weeks ago. Although it wasn't particularly rough, the ride has a really poor appearance. Wanting for paint, of course, doesn't necessarily mean that the structure is unsound, but it does hint at the maintenance policies of the park. As much as I'd like to see an Intamin woodie at Cedar Point, I think Cedar Fair should just give up on wood. They suck at it. I better go ride Renegade soon before it falls apart.
