Canobie Fan Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 www.canobiefan.com/vids/hydra.mpg BTW the ride sucksass....
SLUSHIE Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Looks like you could be able to touch some of the walls near the track.
benzo41190 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 nice video 8) keep the great videos comming.
jarmor Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 is that an actual video camera because it looked a little "wonder year-ish" in quality to me... Dont get me wrong im not talking about the coloring but the frame rate, I guess thats it, looked a tad bit slow. Is it a still camera because if it is thats pretty awesome for a still camera! Jarvis "Throw in some music and some off ride shots and you have a winner there!" Morant!
DenDen Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Where did this name "JoJo" come from!?!?!?!? AAAAAAAHHHHHHH! (Yes, I know, it's a reference to PowerPuff Girls". LOL)
Sir Clinksalot Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Thanks for the video. I'm actually looking forward to ridng Hydra nest month since it's not the typical Loop, Dive Loop, Zero G, Cobra Roll, Interlocking Corkscrew formula.
Erik Johnson Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Was that a knock against my Kumba?? heh heh heh
Imhotep Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 The idea for the prelift inversion came from a park employee, and the element was named after him. thats the story behind JoJo. I wasnt a big fan of Hydra. I only got to ride it once, but it was really bumpy the time I rode. Not your typical B&M.
CoasterCrazy Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Nice video James! When I rode Hydra this past June the only part of the ride that liked was the JoJo roll.
coasters 4 me Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Great Video. I think it looks like a really great ride.
robbalvey Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Great video. What a totally underwhelming ride. I can think of at least 30 or so other B&Ms I've been on all over the world that I'd rather ride! Oh, well....at least we'll 'credit run' it in October...maybe! If we get bored! --Robb
Canobie Fan Posted August 12, 2005 Author Posted August 12, 2005 Yeah... I took 7 or 8 rides on Hydra.. It seemed to be better in the back seat and then also at night. The ride just doesnt do much and really isnt that fun... also the "2" air time hills.... Keep you in your seat.... And I even noted a track part that has the holes for a trim to be added....... As if the ride needs it
CoasterFanatic Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I am in agreement on the "suck ass" characterization of the ride. I found it to be really underwhelming. looked a tad bit slow No. It really is that slow
coaster1 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 What's with bumpy B&M's lately .. quality going down the crapper I guess.
Imhotep Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 ^What other coasters are you implying? Just curious.
coaster1 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Scream for one .. that was deadly bumpy. Silver Bullet wasn't bad so maybe it's just the latest floorless coasters, I still blame Superman and Dominator on the parks lack of TLC.
Stitch Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I was excited by the looks and theme of this ride but I must say after seeing this video I am let down. It just doesn't have the aggression that the name Hyrda implies
MagnumForce Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I actually like the looks of it, and I love the layout, but knowing how the recent string of Ho Hum Beemers that have been put out I am not sure what to think. Batinator and Kumba are the only B and M sitdown loopers that really get my juices flowing.
imbordisux Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I'm surprised at all the hate for "Hydra". My fiance' and I both loved this ride, simply because it was so UNLIKE other coasters - it took all the inversions really slowly, meaning that, while upside-down, you fell out of the seats and into the restraints, much like flat-rides that keep you inverted for long amounts ("top spin", "air jumper", etc.). It wasn't "fun" in a "blow-away, knock-your-socks-off" kind of way, in that it wasn't so tall or fast that it would induce fear in anyone but the most timid of riders, but it was fun in the same way old carnival rides ("tilt-a-whirl", etc.) are fun.
coasterguy618 Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 That was a really good video. Your good at this. BTW, i love hydra.
