Marcio Posted April 1, 2010 Share Posted April 1, 2010 Hey everyone, I'm here to tell you that the former Déjà Vu from SFOG has finally arrived here in Brazil! In fact, the coaster is here since March 5th, but it only started to be transported to Mirabilandia last 18th. The park chose a new name and made a logo, but it's all secret by now. The coaster will be repainted, but the color scheme will be the same. They still don't have an exact date for the grand opening, since the park is too small and they could be waiting for a government approval for a possible expansion. So we can't expect to see this coaster running in 2010... More news and pics as I find out! Here you have the first picture of the coaster in the seaport! Hard to believe it's the only one left which is still at it's original park, which I am very thankful for. I hope this one is a success at it's new home. I wonder if any of the Rocky Mountain Construction consultants are heading down there to make sure its installed correctly after the fabulous job they did with Aftershock... I did a search on RCDB and only the three which are/were in the U.S. showed up since the one in Spain has a different name, Stunt Fall. I just searched by park name and found the 4th one. But they have the rights to use the name, characters etc used in the Italian park. The technical/maintenance problems were bad, but not the only problems with that coaster. I think the biggest problem was LOW capacity. 300 riders per hour was normal. Deja had a horrible reputation for having a long, slow line. And that is not the impression six flags wants to give their guests. I'm really not sure why Magic Mountain has kept theirs. Yeah, I wonder why MM has kept theirs The ride is always operating when I visited the park multiple times a year starting 2003. Were the other ones more prone to downtime than the one we have? I always thought about this. Glad we still have ours though. But I don't like waiting in line for this ride. The wait time in line from my experiences is as long as X2's in the summer time. SharkTums Posted April 5, 2010 Share Posted April 5, 2010 SFMM has stated at various West Coast Bashes, that a few of the higher up's really like Deja Vu (why, is unclear!??!), and they have somehow conned the maintenance workers into taking some sort of pride in being the only Six Flags Maintenance team that can keep it working most of the time. Deja Vu is one of my favorite coasters at #3 out of 55 coasters ridden, behind only X2 and Tatsu so as long as it stays I will be happy that I am able to keep riding it, regardless of the reason the higher ups want it. It does have terrible capacity and a very slow line but I would still be very disappointed if it was ever removed because it is a great ride in my opinion. I just try to ride it early on crowded days or use Flash Passes on it if necessary. I do wish it still had a single rider line though. I used to use that often on crowded days. I also remembering them saying they were the only Six Flags that implemented a specific "refurbishment-down time",the same few months every year when the entire ride would be over-hauled, as opposed to repairing things through-out the season on an "as needed" basis.
