  1. Rode it yesterday about 4 times. Not every effect is working yet, Today may have been the first day with everything on... Spoilers ahead! The actual ride is actually referred to as the Sim Track. Heavy use of Blacklight and brings a sort of Tron Vibe. Almost all traces of 98 Test Track are gone! (Exception of some Black and Yellow paints in Load/Unload areas and the Maintenance Bay) And the Semi-Truck gag is back but really well done. Lots of little references to EPCOT Center, World of Motion and even a Cars reference! Designing the car is very similar to Sum of All Thrills! But a lot more fun! you can create anything from realistic concept car to Even a huge Truck that looks like a tank! (Thats what I did!) Did not experience post show beyond the big screen that shows every ones car and stats (Much like the Globe post show at Spaceship Earth) They were cycling cars much closer than what I remember... On the Speed Loop, I felt like a Hot Wheels on those old plastic dueling tracks with the motors. The design stage has variable design times of 9 mins, 7 mins, and 5 mins. Based on line length... So I see it never going to 9 mins, maybe 7 mins in January/February. The line will constantly have at least a 60 min wait time. Fastpasses will be gone in an hour. Because every family with a male child will want to go and design their own car. Actually everyone will want to ride, even if all they want to do is design their own car. My opinion: Even with not everything working right quite yet, It is a significant improvement over the past Test Track. No more industrial feel, all sleek Tron/Epcot Center feel. This is the best re-imagining Disney has done at Epcot,or even Walt Disney World, rivaling Summer Nighttastic's Tower of Terror. Its a must not miss. But I will say this: Bill McKim. You will be missed...
  2. ^ I dont think that its unsafe at all because of the guest that went back there. You all know how the ride functions and know what to touch and what not to touch. It was merely an observation how a small park like that can treat its fans so nicely! Would Disney do that? No because of what could go wrong. So many safety measures put in place here... Sorry, a few runins with OHSA at Disney have put me in an interesting mindset... But this is a very indepth PTR. Nice use of rating system as well! I can wait to see more! Suscribed.
  3. Cool Photos! I like how you included the Train fail picture, because hats truly how 95% of the coaster photos turn out, well mine at least. I still cant believe that you got so close to an operating ride!! OHSA would have a field day over that..
  4. Like, Is it enjoyable? Are we Courteous? Are the Speilers good? Anything we can improve on? Just curious... so I can help out my other CM's.
  5. I would like to gain an honest opinion about you all, or Y'all's experience in the Parking Lot at DHS... Today is actually my last Day in the DHS Parking Lot crew (Transfered to Tower Of Terror), and I'm curious to hear what you all have to say...
  6. ^^ I agree. Living with the Land seems more along the lines of Backlot Tour at DHS or even Kilimanjaro Safari at DAK. Dark Rides (to me) are non Roller Coasters or Simulators, with heavy theme through out and a ride system on a track or flume, including animatronics. So at Magic Kingdom (where a lot of people think of dark rides) I would consider Peter Pan's flight, Splash Mountain, Small World, Pirates of The Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and even Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin (due to the fact you are IN his universe). And now even the Jungle cruise even though its outside. Epcot has Spaceship Earth, Maelstrom, Universe of Energy, and Journey in to Imagination (WITH FIGMENT!). DHS though is where it gets tricky... to me its Great Movie Ride and Tower of Terror. Toy Story Midway Mania is NOT a dark ride, its almost like a simulation. Because you are just playing a really big video game, yet its one of the best video games you can play!
  7. Quick tip for anyone attending Star Wars Weekends... Go in through the main auto plaza and do arrive early. Do NOT use the satellite entrance off of Buena Vista drive. It is worth the extra 3 mins on I-4, to take exit 64 for Hollywood Studios. In fact, there wont be an entrance off of Buena Vista Drive for very much longer. There will be a new off ramp off of Osceola Parkway that will feed into the Main Entrance plaza. Nick "Parking CM at Hollywood Studios" Wells
  8. Bad show. Thats why they are not Cast Members lol. But I am excited about Q-Bots in Florida!
  9. Gonna miss it a little bit. Not many rides like it left out there anymore... But this is a right step in the recovery from the coaster wars!
  10. I think this ride will be the proposed expansion to the Las Vegas Monorail....
  11. Went by there today, walked in there, saw that it was just a little dip that broke, not an entire track falling on the other track
  12. ... If you know the name of the show and roller coaster where that actually happened
  13. That just took this trip report to a whole other level! Question though, how was the clientele there? More locals? or More Tourists?
  14. Great photos! I really enjoy all there is at Dollywood and all of these TR's make me wanna go back! I cant believe im saying this, but I miss the Blue Ridge/Smokey Mountains... But your photos do really help!
  15. To go along with Adam's little Photo TR, I'll give my 2 cents on Blue Horizons and One Ocean. First off, this was my first time back at Sea World since 2003, and Adam was kind enough to let me join him for a quick walk around the park after the Manta film shoot. I was amazed by how clean the park was kept up, and how all of the staff seemed very friendly. I was worried that things would have gone downhill, but I was mistaken! The last time I saw the dolphin show, even being little, I thought it was very tacky, trying too hard to be like Clyde and Seymore. But then I saw Blue Horizons. Holy crap. Blew my mind! I have become accustomed to Disney quality theme park entertainment (because of me being a CP) and have become a fan of the cirque du soleil style shows. Well I would put Blue Horizons right up there with those two. Everything was amazing about the show! The Set was a fantastic work representing the beauty of the ocean life, with lots of Blues and Whites. Huge Manta rays hung high off of the set. The performers seemed to really enjoy what they were doing, and so did the Dolphins! The musical score was memorable and was not overbearing or tacky in the least bit. The ending is just amazing and will really take your breath away. I probably looked like a dork the whole time, cause my mouth was wide open. Blue Horizons is a must Sea! (Look what I did there). Now to a show that also exceeded any expectations or preconceived notions I had. Last time I saw the Shamu show at Sea World was when the performers used to be in the water with the Orcas. So I was expecting a stilted performance. I was wrong. Completely wrong. One Ocean has a huge set, with four rotating TV screens that show off the theme of the show, that we are all connected by the Ocean. Funny that the theme is connection, when the Orcas and Humans cant be together in the water. What the show lacked in the amazing human interaction stunts, it made up for with the music, use of abundant fountains, and an increased focus on the Splash Zones! The Splash has become a greater focus in the show, which I believe is great! And then the finale of the show was breath taking! I cannot believe how these huge beasts can do tricks like that. Absolutely stunning! All in all, Sea World is a Must Do to any Orlando Area vacation. But of course you already know that!
  16. One night when I was tram loading at DHS, I had a guest (from Brazil) ask if the tram had a Fastpass line, and then handed me a FLIK card (Those red cards that Cast Members at attractions hand guests to give to the CM at the end of the ride) Thats still the strangest thing that has ever happened to me with the GP...
  17. I saw the wrap the other day in person when me and some other CP's were resort hopping, and I really do like it. My first thought is that it would be a tad bit tacky, but in the end, I love it! Maybe the next monorail fleet should have some all black mixed with the all white!
  18. ^ Wow, im done 5 days after that. Stay away from 1007... Im staying on part time/full time hopefully!
  19. -You have ever defended a Cyclone coaster... -You scoff at there being one train operation. -You actually enjoyed watching the movie Roller Coaster -Your favorite moment in National Lampoon's Vacation is the end. -You get the connection between those two movies
  20. Sorry about your shoddy day there. Its still early in the season... so ops are going to be a bit on the slow side. Hopefully the park will see lots of love in the future, or as Bart Kinzel said "Cedar Fair is looking to make this park an A park, like KI or CP"
  21. No Assigned rows is the best part. Still allows guests to utilize system while waiting for front/back row. Dropping them into the station is what all of the other parks with the system do. I say great for Cedar Point! Extra revenue + Increased guest happiness= Profit, and more importantly more rides to speculate on.
