From what I heard it was during testing and nobody was on it, that's the only reason I can think that more info wasn't released:

If "nobody was on it" why would anyone need to be evacuated from the ride with apparatus?

It is literally impossible to "dispatch two logs at a time" with the turntable design of the station.

Park had to close it down for the season & let the state know within 24 hours"

Rides that have actually injured, if not killed, people have re-opened in the same season.  There is no situation where a ride would have to be closed for the remainder of a season on a technicality.

You had quotation marks in your statement.  What is the source of that quote?

Whatever it is that happened, happened in the afternoon on the day in question (it was either the Friday or Saturday of Juneteenth weekend). When it happened they shut down Bugs Bunny National Park and then for a few days after they shut down that part of Frontier Adventures so you had to go under El Toro to get to Medusa and Mine Train. While none of this is proven fact, multiple sources from multiple sites said the same thing about the day in question and the days following.

Whatever happened has been kept hush hush because of where it is in the park. Besides the part that goes by the kiddie area (which was evacuated right after the incident happened) the rest of the ride is mostly out of view from inside the park until the final hill.

The rumor (and I want to be clear this is just a rumor as obviously nothing official has ever come out) is that a log got stuck just after the top of the first lift (where it cuts over the corner of the kiddie area) and then another log came up from behind and knocked it out of place and nearly over the edge of the trough. If this is indeed what happened, it would literally be the 2nd time in 4 years that this flume has had a log get stuck and then another log come up and knock it out of place.

Rides that "open the same year as an accident or death" are often opened quickly because the cause of the vast majority of ride accidents is human error, but otherwise the ride did not malfunction. In this case, when a ride gets stuck in areas where it shouldn't twice in a very short period of time (a period made even shorter by the fact it was barely open in the past 4 years) it's not just going to test for a week and then they reopen it. Obviously there is something major wrong with it. Whether or not the park has actually given up on opening it ever again remains to be seen.

Again, I know my post is based on total rumors but a fairly sizeable amount of people thought the Kingda Ka rumors were total bullshit and we saw how that worked out. With the condition the park is in (and has been for quite a while), I think the Flume rumors have some truth to them.

Wait, so the Flume has been closed since mid-June, not this week when they removed the listing? I misunderstood - haven't been to the park since 2019 (and likely won't for a few more).

Nobody was removed with a cherry picker - do you really think that would have gone under the radar?

If the cherry picker was under 100 feet, yes.  That's the clutter zone where radar can't differentiate between terrain and objects.

Can we pay extra for that? Because it sounds awesome. If Flying Turns is a credit, so be the log flume.

The latest demise at Great Adventure: Jersey Devil's dispatch times!

Anyone who's been to the park this year knows they never run more than two trains on it anymore, which really wasn't going too badly with how dead the park was. But according to Eltororyan's new video, just in time for Frightfest the 2nd train now has to park outside the station until the first train is all the way out onto the lift! Due to the ride time, that means every train sent out now has to sit on the brakes for a good 30 seconds. The minimum dispatch time is 2 mins 15 seconds, rendering a throughout of just over 300 people per hour. The ops on this thing used to be a work of art when it opened and it ran 4 trains. Most days 2 trains were fine and 3 was good enough on busy days. But with this change, forget it. I really have never seen a park doing more bad for itself than this place has since Cedar Fair's management took charge 14 months ago. Not sure if it's an IROC thing, a New Jersey regulation thing, or just an excuse to make the lines longer and sell more Flashpass.

Also if you're going to Frightfest, keep in mind Nitro has been down for almost a month and is potentially down for the rest of the season due to a lift motor issue. Wonder Woman has been down for almost two months. And Flash has been up and down a lot also.

I have no idea why a first time coaster lover rider would even wait for that line, even if traveling from afar. I wouldn't.

Spring Break question. We have the MVP pass and want to try to get as much milage out of it this year before Six Flags implodes (joking... not joking). ANWAYS... My wife and I have not been to Great Adventure of Carowinds (about the same distance from us).

So, for a fun two-day trip should we go to Great Adventure or Carowinds during their April spring break?

I can not help with what is better but i would check and see what all is currently open at Great adventure.

Did eltoro open with the park? if not might be worth waiting till everything is running.

The Ragin' Cajun relocation will not be operating during Spring Break for sure, and I'm pretty sure Superman will be inaccessible as well (though we'll know more about that after opening day this Saturday).  I would go to Carowinds.

I'd honestly go to Carowinds any day of the week over SFGAdv, and the prior is a 9 hour drive for me while the latter is less than 2.

Spring is almost here, and Six Flags Great Adventure is getting ready to open its gates for another exciting season. This year, that momentum begins with something guests can already see taking shape.

A bold new addition is on the way — and for the first time, guests are getting their first glimpse.

As part of the park’s ongoing Boardwalk transformation, Six Flags Great Adventure has revealed an early look at its 14th roller coaster, debuting later this season. A striking blue track component offers the first visual clue of what’s ahead, signaling the start of construction on this new attraction.

Set within the reimagined Boardwalk, the coaster will bring a fresh mix of family thrills and classic seaside energy — blending the timeless charm of the New Jersey shoreline with dynamic new experiences for guests of all ages.

Guests will notice significant activity throughout The Boardwalk as the area continues its transformation into a refreshed, reimagined experience for 2026. The updated area will feature new ride attractions, classic boardwalk food and drink, games, and more — currently slated to debut in late spring.

This new coaster is part of a broader, multi-year investment across the park. At the same time, construction continues on Great Adventure’s next-generation 2027 coaster project, which will become the park’s 15th coaster — highlighting a period of continued growth and momentum.

Full details will be shared soon, but guests will continue to see this transformation take shape throughout the season.

https://www.sixflags.com/blog/a-new-coaster-is-rising-at-six-flags-great-adventure

Something big is beginning to rise at Six Flags Great Adventure — and for the first time, guests can truly see it taking shape.

The park’s highly anticipated 2027 roller coaster has officially reached a major construction milestone as the project enters its first phase of vertical assembly. The first piece has now been lifted into place, marking the moment this next-generation attraction begins to emerge above the horizon.

What was once groundwork… is now becoming skyline.

Following the recent arrival of track components, construction has entered a defining phase where the layout of the ride is coming to life in real time. With each passing day, the scale of this new addition becomes more apparent — offering guests a front-row view of progress as it transforms the park’s evolving skyline. And this is just the beginning.

A Season of Momentum Begins March 28

As this major new attraction rises, Six Flags Great Adventure is preparing to launch its 2026 season — kicking off a year filled with energy, transformation and can’t-miss experiences. The park officially opens to the public on March 28, with an exclusive Passholder Preview on March 27 from 5 to 9 p.m. for Season Passholders and Members. It’s the first opportunity of the season to experience the park — and catch an early look at this landmark project as it begins to take shape above the skyline.

The Boardwalk Transformation Arrives This Spring

Momentum continues across the park with the transformation of The Boardwalk, reimagined as a vibrant shorefront-inspired destination. Debuting in late spring, this refreshed area will introduce new ride experiences, updated dining locations and enhanced guest spaces, further elevating one of the park’s most dynamic environments.

Spring Break Meets Wild Adventure

Opening weekend also marks the start of one of the season’s most exciting experiences — the Safari Spring Break Celebration (March 28 – April 12). Guests can enjoy wildlife-themed entertainment, interactive experiences and family-friendly activities throughout the park, along with the return of Safari Off-Road Adventure access from within the theme park, bringing guests even closer to incredible animal encounters as part of their day.

Watch It Rise All Season Long

With construction now rising into the skyline, every visit in 2026 offers something new to see. From the first pieces of track now in place to continued vertical progress and beyond, this is a rare opportunity to witness a major coaster come to life — step by step. And with a limited-time Spring Sale underway, a Six Flags Season Pass is the best way to experience it all — from opening day through every milestone ahead.

Because at Six Flags Great Adventure, the story is always about what’s next. And right now… it’s rising.
