KDCOASTERFAN
According to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WindSeeker: Windseeker's structure has 8 total sections. Canada's Wonderland's took 16 days of vertical construction. Cedar Point's took 15 days of vertical construction. Kings Island's took 11 days of vertical construction. Knott's took 21 days of vertical construction. Then once that's completed the UFO's only take a day or so... So barring any inclement weather conditions KD should get their's up in a matter of days to at least a couple weeks.
Intimidator305
Windseeker's seats have arrived at Kings Dominion! Also, if anyone wants to see more construction photos, Coaster Crew went to the park last Thursday and got some pictures (the day before the first piece was installed). http://www.facebook.com/coastercrew#!/media/set/?set=a.2526340283097.2111963.1391101425&type=1 From the Official Kings Dominion Facebook page. QueerRudie
^I'm thinking a 400 foot B&M invert. Nahhhh... It's the top-secret project that Intamin and KD have been working on for 12 years... You know... The LSM powered 10 inversion 462 foot tall... AQUATRAX!

KDCOASTERFAN
A somewhat decent update but for some reason KD's youtube page seems to be far more focused on covering DA construction than windseeker as their videos recentl have only given information on windseeker for all of 30 seconds to a minute tops while giving two minutes or more to talking about DA or DA related merchandise. coasterfreak101
What's there to talk about? There's one piece in the ground and there's really only so much to say about a ride that swings around in circles really high.

Intimidator305
There is a new Kings Dominion website to match the rest of the Cedar Fair parks. Overall, it looks nice! http://www.kingsdominion.com/ Also, the new 2012 park map is posted now. Windseeker is MASSIVE on the new park map, and I'm glad Dinosaurs Alive finally took up that big empty spot on the park map as it makes the park look more balanced. megametal
Nice. Was just looking for the updated map a few days ago. By the way, anyone know why they haven't connected the back waterpark area with a path that leads between Ricochet and Hurler yet? I mean, it would lead like right to the changing rooms. I think it's because they're not allowed to develop the land directly south of hurler.
coasterfreak101
^Why not? I'm really sad to see that the DA entrance is being built around the gokarts and not in their place. Maybe one day...
netdvn
^^ Wasn't Hypersonic/that diner built in that area? I don't see why the park can't add a back entrance to the waterpark if that area was already developed before. Or they could stick an alternate entrance around Ricochet's entrance. Intimidator305
^^ The "Dinosaur Store" gift shop and ticket booth is replacing Grizzly Arcade and then the path for the attraction will wrap around Thunder Raceway to the woods. As for the new WaterWorks path, I believe that they want WaterWorks to be kind of it's own "park" of its own and not a part of the amusement park itself like Soak City at KI, Boomerang Bay at Carowinds, ect. Also, it seems like they would have even more problems with dress code if they had two entrances/exits. KD's is allowed to build on the land to the east of Hurler (the area between Ricochet & the water park), just not past the service road south of Hurler (behind the ride). coasterfreak101
^Yeah, I just wish that it was all replacing those gokarts. They're just so ugly and loud and out of place, in my opinion. But I am glad to know that the gift shop is replacing that arcade - never seemed very busy in there! That's what I was thinking as far as the waterpark back entrance goes. It's a lot easier to manage guests when there's only one way in and one way out; but it does make for one hell of a jam trying to get through there some days. I always thought it would be nice to have a second (or third, I suppose) entrance that connects back toward Italian Job's parking garage structure - it'd really make getting around a lot easier! ^^ Wasn't Hypersonic/that diner built in that area? I don't see why the park can't add a back entrance to the waterpark if that area was already developed before. Or they could stick an alternate entrance around Ricochet's entrance. Hypersonic was built over where Windseeker is on the map, which I believe is to the north side of Hurler.

With that in mind I don't get why they don't just move the phase one waterworks slides over to the phase two site behind rebel yell so they can use that land to expand the grove & be able to add a few more flats in the process...speaking of which phase one of the waterpark first opened 20 years ago back in 1992. Since they cannot build south of hurler(on the west side of the park) any future expansion will have to behind phase two of the waterpark for additional flats or coasters, unless they start removing older rides in favor of new ones. With DA going next to grizzly I wonder if there will still be any land between DA & WWC left for expansion in the old virginia side of the park? Skycoastin Steve
^Do you realize how much work and money would have to go into "just moving" some water slides? Do you need me to list it out, or can you just assume from what I'm saying it would be a royal pain in the ass for the park?
netdvn
Looking at a satellite map, there is nothing directly south of Hurler (it's all maintenance roads). They can build an alternate entrance east of the ride though. Still not sure why they can't build back there. Is it because of the maintenance roads or is there something else I'm not clear about? As for the old Hurricane Reef slides, I think it's time to either retire them and replace them with newer ones or just scrap the slides and re-expand the lake (probably not gonna happen, but it would be cool). Even a small expansion is fine. I was thinking a mat racer, aqua loop tower, and a LIM slide as the next expansion for the water park.

Dom497
Incase none of you have noticed, over at Screamscape, I have decided to give Screamscape the updates of WindSeeker in the form of a "race". Its called The WindSeeker Race: Carowinds vs Kings Dominion. Who do you think will be the first to the top? http://www.screamscape.com/html/kings_dominion.htm If you can't get to the link for whatever reason, here is the first "episode" I have written: "Hello and welcome to the first "episode" of the WindSeeker Race: Carowinds vs Kings Dominion! Both parks are fighting to be the first to the top! Last week we saw both parks place the first (base) piece of WindSeeker's eight piece tower (not including the maintenance platform and "UFO"). On Saturday, Carowinds installed not one...not two but THREE PIECES putting them in the lead! This makes Carowinds half way done the tower while Kings Dominion is still at 1 piece tall. At this rate, Carowinds could finish the tower by early February!!! Tune back soon for the next "episode" of the WindSeeker Race: Carowinds vs Kings Dominion." coasterfreak101
I might be late in this discussion, but do we know where Dinosaurs Alive is going? It's like two pages ago, and it's on the new park map. Entrance is between the gokarts and Grizzly's exit, and the arcade is being transformed into the DA shop.
