^We expect a PTR, as I'm sure there will be PLENTY of them from the Eastcoast contributors of this thread from how we spend our weekend. There should be around 5 or more beers aged in whiskey barrels that we have the opportunity to try, along with several dozen other beer types

Worst case scenario, "Hangover" won't just be a Vekoma previously at Liseberg.

Been awhile since I posted some shots so here goes nothing ...

Now it is time to clean the ol' palette. A Dogfish Shelter Pale Ale should do the trick.

A nice pint glass of Bell's Java Stout. I love beer and I love coffee and I love this stout!

Next it was time for some coffee ... I mean beer.

I willl have to agree with the majority and declare that the old Hefe is a very drinkable beer

Wait a sec. We're missing something.

There we go!

Instead, it was a nice glass of the "Beer Thread" classic. Paulaner Hefe!

A Hopback glass, but unlike Derek, I don't have any Troeggs to put in it

Quite tasty actually and one of the better winter brews

Last weekend I finally gave the Snow Cap a day in court

Went over to Planet Beer. While fairly unimpressive (think 7-11 with a dry stock), I was able to put together a decent six pack.

Got to get them cold first, in the meantime how about some Negra Modelo.

Time for dinner and some Liberty!

Tasty!

THE 2006 Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine Style Ale has been released!!!

I saw this today when I went into my local place. I just had some of the 2005 not too long ago. Rather good stuff. Plus you have to love a beer bottle with a Sasquatch on it.

Drank my last Weyerbacher Winter. This was an OK winter ale. Nice and malty. Weyerbacher does better though.

Went back for some more Great Divide goodness. The Ridge Line Amber Ale. I love ambers and this was a good one.

Ted, does that one actually taste like coffee?

Mmm..... coffee

A beer that tastes like coffee might actually be Nicole-friendly!

p.s. Mike, nice avatar

p.p.s. CHOCOLATE? Beer that tastes like chocolate? I think my brain is about to explode!

Last night started the Northampton Beer Festival kickoff. Full weekend details will be up probably tomorrow night. But since this is the beer thread, I figured I'll post at least my beers from last evening.

And the night was finished off with a Smuttynose IPA

Signature move! Back at the house, I tried a new brew, the Dogfish Head Burton Baton, an imperial IPA aged in whiskey barrels.

It was then off to Bethlehem Brew Works for some food and an ESB

As of 8pm, we had 79 different varieties of beer

Next up was some Hop Devil, on tap of course

Beer02030602.jpg.d2e8ebbd2574adbfc7cf57fe77707855.jpg

Yeah, it was pretty darn good, with a nice alcohol finish

Started out with the Stone IPA Tom enjoyed so much earlier in this thread

Man, I wish I could be there partaking with you guys. I don't have 79 varieties but I did count 51 in the fridge heading into Super Bowl Sunday. Whoops, make that 50....

Now this is a stout I can get behind. Very drinkable. Sweet with accents of chocolate & vanilla and a very slight hop finish. I'm gonna have to hit this one again sometime.

It's got a great aroma of chocolate. Let's see how it tastes...

I actually can post in this thread!

Last night with dinner, I popped the cork on a bottle of white I bought at Fuji-Q highlands. I'm no fan of wine, but it wasn't too bad.

Thus no play last night, by bed time we both had headaches. That's what you get when you don't drink wine regularly. (My wife could drink me under the table anyway. Japanese folks put it away!)

Here's what I can remember drinking last night at the party.

beer02050605.jpg.fe98394e661598c830f33c42e935c592.jpg

And finished off the night with some Troegenator Double Bock

Ted brought a Penn Brewing Oktoberfest, which was enjoyable

Can't go wrong with a Dogfish Head

beer02050602.jpg.e776164460dc86de8c3a9732f421da68.jpg

Then I had a Flying Dog Pale Ale

beer02050601.jpg.3b55e2e6acf86e65c0940fa781182fd4.jpg

I started off with Great Lakes Eliot Ness Amber Lager. It wasn't too bad

^ It is kind of bizarre to see those beers being consumer 5 hours away from where I left them 2 days ago. So sorry that I couldn't make the second night of the beer fest. After grabbing a bite to eat in route, I still didn't get home till 2:30am.

Thanks for making a stranger feel welcome. Looking forward to the rest of the pictures and a trip back to Northampton!

That's IT!!! I've had it with Utah FAKE BEER!!!!

I am sick of the low alcolhol content! I want Fat Tire and Ballast Point and Smithwycks and Four Peaks and other beers with FLAVOR and the ability to give someone a buzz!!!

Watching Derek and his beer-o-rama posts is slow torture!

Took it easy tonight, as the Yocco's today for lunch and all those meat products from last night have left my gut with lots of gas. But since I DO enjoy torturing people, I had a Pennsylvania product while watching the Steelers win one for the thumb. Here we go.

Even though I feel like I gained 30lbs this weekend, 1 more won't hurt me. I think it actually helped!

Went with Lancaster's Amish Four Grain Pale Ale, served in Pittsburgh's finest brew works glass

Recap of Super Bowl Sunday. You would have thought that the Raiders and 49ers were playing, considering the theme of today's selections. By the way, just what is up with the little shorty bottles in Nor Cal? The one thing I will say is that there wasn't a bad beer in the bunch. All were very good.

1217709181_beer027.jpg.918889cccff654320c59b18a805d2799.jpg

Scrimshaw Pils from North Coast. A decent pils. Had a sweet taste and was mildly hoppy.

1386955736_beer022.jpg.e802b30d7179fb8254832f6b246ae714.jpg

Pyramid Hefe. Nice taste of wheat and lemons. Even a little bit sour from the lemons. Not the best hefe but still pretty good.

1220618447_beer017.jpg.ccef6fb48bbcb06730e7c104818540fa.jpg

North Coast Blue Star Wheat . Very light but delicious flavor. I'll forgive the Cowboy's logo on the bottle.

1644203577_beer014.jpg.0b4948d65282e064ebdd47cc995c2e35.jpg

The Lagunitas IPA. Wow, this is an excellent IPA. It doesn't beat you over the head like some but instead has a real hoppy undertone to it. Reminds me of the Hopdevil.

910185597_beer009.jpg.4df039c77cd95693c563933cdd9e3f7d.jpg

The Red Seal Amber Ale from North Coast Brewing. Another excellent amber.

293734387_beer004.jpg.4e35186d16229d124c3fb0afda79af48.jpg

Started out with the legendary Anchor Liberty Ale. Awesome stuff.
