Just found some new photos, mainly of the ShDL model recently revealed, on Screamscape

by way of Disney & More. Thanks to both sites for posting them!

Roaring Rapids Mountain in Adventure Isle

The Castle with Fantasyland behind it. You can make out the loading stn. (middle left) for the Crystal Grotto boat ride,

(which also shows a bit of it) and some of the Alice In Wonderland Maze on the right. The round roofed bldg, (top

right) could be Pooh's Hunny Pot Spin.

A more angled shot, which shows the entire AiW Maze. Some more of the Crystal Grotto ride (on the left).

And the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train coaster is right behind, at the top of the photo.

Adventure Isle on the left - Treasure Cove on the right.

And finally, the model of the TRON coaster & canopy, outside the show building.

I'm very impressed with the amount of detail crammed into these models. If the park lives up to them, it will be spectacular.

You know what would be amazing? If they had Beastly Kingdom, the never built part of Animal Kingdom that was going to have an indoor dragon themed invert that was replaced by fucking Camp Minnie.

These progress pics have me worried. Not much seems to have changed between the August pics and September. Are they just going to dump an incredible amount of astroturf in the park?

Also, only a single, thin bridge connecting the hotels to the park? I'm sure there'll be ferry services, as well, but that bridge looks like a bottleneck nightmare.

I believe Shanghai Disneyland, will get finished as fast as all of the other theme parks,

Disney has created. It's all just a matter of being....patient.

I wonder if all of the vegetation / greenery is being grown and stored offsite somewhere, ready to be planted at the last minute? Maybe it would get in the way of heavy plant and machinery being used in the final stages of construction?

Has a date been announced yet or is it still 'Spring'? An opening date at the end of May would give them another 7(ish) months.

That's usually how theme park projects are done.

Disneyland was built in 366 days.

An official opening date has not been announced. I have heard rumors, but that's all they are. Disney is working the best they can to get the park open. If there are delays, there are reasons. To quote the CEO of the company, when asked if there have been difficulties working in China, he said: "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... ....there have been some difficulties but we're working through them." Remember, this isn't Disney building a Disney park, this is the Chinese building a Disney park. And if anyone has been to China, then you can probably guess why this park has been having a bit of trouble getting completed.

Mmmmm, so much to still do.

I can wait.

All those rows of "railings" in front of The Castle, look like stroller parking to me, LOL.

Pretty terrifying image from this morning. Apparently it only smoked for 2 minutes before the fire was put out. A cause is not yet known.

Image appears to show smoke from a fire at Enchanted Storybook Castle.

^ Maybe they're moving another dragon in, like Paris?

(Hope the fire was more minor than it looks, here. And the cause figured out.)

The new artwork is wonderful! The 'pre-show' area of the Pirates Stunt Show looks great.

And that last one, of the 'canoes' attraction... wow.

Definitely, one I want to try if I ever get there.

If the underwater scene of POTC is as well lit as the one in I Corsari (Gardaland), it's going to be amazing! See at 6:30:

One of the only dark-ride sequence that made me goes WOW out loud (just like the dude in the video ).

Flights are crazy cheap right now from Orlando to Shanghai for next year - well at least compared to Japan - I'm talking under $1k on Delta. Has anyone started to look into planning a trip to the park? It saves me nearly 900 bucks to fly to Shanghai vs to Tokyo so I'm thinking maybe pit-stop for Disney. But is it worth the hassle to go to China for a day or two?

^You can make a trip there for parks. There are quite a few parks in that area and I guess they will all be dead empty by the time Shanghai Disneyland opens. Mega-Lite, Skyscrapper, Dinoconda, Fireball, Dive Maching and Stingray are all within reach of an hour of bullet train/subway.
