I love those wide lift supports, for some reason. Also Storm Runner with its collection of rather odd elements. Love this one! Shambhala also looks great (thanks in part to that turn)

BigDipper 80 Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 My vote goes to Mean Streak. Most wood coasters look gorgeous, and MS is just a very impressive, sculptural ride. I'm also partial to Millennium, especially all lit up at night. The first drop is just perfectly shaped.

I have never ridden it but I like how it looks different from most B&M looping coasters. From the trains, to those high speed turns and fast corkscrew. Oh, and the drop looks like it provides some great air in the back.

You can also get some really awesome shots of Phantom's Revenge. Millennium Force is really really nice looking as well. So many other ones, though.

It's not the best coaster in my opinion, but it's a very elegant coaster from all angles. It's great from the entrance and the helix looks great.

Oh, and the drop looks like it provides some great air in the back. You cannot beat the air in the back. You're out of your seat almost the whole way down. The view from the top of the mountains and the lake is incredible, too, for the few seconds you get to see it. Since it's built on the side of the mountain, there aren't a whole lot of angles from which one can see it, but that observation deck is very worthwhile, even if you never ride the coaster (but why wouldn't you?).

Storm Runner Great Bear BGW Has some photogenic coasters as well Oh and of course this sexy ass ride at BGT. Kumba! Such a masterpiece...
BigDipper 80 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I was thinking about this thread a bit last night, and I started to wonder about specific rides that are so photogenic that they've essentially become icons. The two that lept to my mind both happen to be at Kings Island: If the view from the top of The Beast's lift hill isn't one of the most famous views from a roller coaster, I don't know what is. This picture is literally everywhere. It must have been even more incredible back in its early days when no one had ever seen such a sprawling ride. I honestly feel that Racer's "look" did more for starting the Coaster Renaissance than the actual ride experience itself. Racer was exactly what roller coasters were supposed to look like. The ribbons of symmetrical track were just gorgeous, and I suspect other parks wanted to have a ride that could make as much of a visual impact. It's not the most thrilling these days, but the track split before the turnaround is beautiful.

Midgetman82 Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 There's plenty I could probably list that some photographers made look good through a camera lens, but I agree with the one that mentioned Mean Streak. That ride doesn't look big only in pictures. That ride is just plain massive, and is very pleasing to look at. Too bad it's a bit of a snore-fest to ride (though I apparently experienced it on one of its better days during Coastermania last year, so I can only imagine how it runs on normal operating days). Other than that, I'd like to send an honorable mention to Manta (or basically any coaster at SeaWorld Orlando). The interaction with the coaster above the sidewalk and with the scenery is visually impressive on its own.
