verticalzero Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Area of land which Thorpe Park is going to reclaim for future rides. Another layout pic
TPDave Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Yeah the video says "13.08.08". But the video title says 2009 coaster. What's going on Thorpe? Â They will be releasing more information on the 13th of august, simple as that.
theyd Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Now all we have to do is guess the name of the coaster.
jamjar Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 I'm going to be at TP tomorrow so I might be able to get some construction pics
Junkie~ Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 You do know that picture was posted on the first page don't you? Â Also the layout that was posted above isn't the layout anymore. They took out an inversion and replaced it with an air time hill. It looks much funner now!
rollerboy Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 ^ Yeah its the dive loop that they have taken out, I would prefer a dive loop as I have never experienced one! Jordan.
matteocrepaldi Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 IMO airtime hills are always better than inversions. I can't wait to see some vertical construction.
Mr Sock Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Don't think this has been posted... Thorpe have released the next trailer for Dylan, called "Discovery"...  http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jZOLSdKDJ2c  (Sorry, embedding tags seem to be playing up)
verticalzero Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Maybe Thorpe Park thought a dive loop is 2 extreme for the English public
rollerboy Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Has anyone seen the new video? Its super cheesy lol. I will try to find a link.
Kalepi_Konei Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I don't know if this video was posted yet, but I found this POV of a No Limits recreation and it seems pretty awesome! Â
dr.gumbo Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 The theming looks awesome but the ride itself doesn't. I hope I'm wrong but I can't see it being better than Speed. Â EDIT: What the hell, I'm sure it'll be awesome!
Terror-Penguin Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 That airtime hill does look promising, and I really like the name they have given it to hide it's identity, 'Project Dylan'. Â Anyway, I thought they said it was going to have 4 inversions, I can only see 3 on the layout picture above.

Loefet Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 ^ Instead of the airtimehill and the turn up to the MCBR, there were another MCBR and an Immelman turn like the ones found on Rage and Spongebob.
Terror-Penguin Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 ^Couldn't of they just added the airtime hill and left the Immelman turn in the layout?
Loefet Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 ^ I'm not sure why they removed the Immelmann turn, could have been since they had little space or that they had to remove it because the block section would have been to far to remove stacking.
theyd Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 There's a really wild rumor going around that it is going to be based on the Saw films. It's only a rumor but this one sounds feasible in terms of context. Â Oh and John Wardley is involved in the ride
Manny In England Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Oh and John Wardley is involved in the ride  That sentence is one of the best things you can hear in connection to a new coaster.
rollerboy Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 There's a really wild rumor going around that it is going to be based on the Saw films. Â I have heard its going to be based on a saw mill, not saw films. But you never know!
Manny In England Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 ^ Yeah, the advert on youtube has the coaster builders finding a box that contains ghosts or anthrax or something nasty. Not too similar to the Saw franchise.
chuckle Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Hello Everyone!  I went on Youtube this weekend and I found Thorpe Park now has its own Channel!  And they have realeased 2 trailers for their new rides. The first one is rubbish. They are probably not actors, but builders mucking around on their lunch break. The second is a lot better.  Trailer 1 (Rubbish) http://uk.youtube.com/watchv=jZOLSdKDJ2c&feature=user  Trailer 2 (Good) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=69xb3zbgzAM&feature=user  All I can say is this is this coaster will be called 'Discovery' or '13' Hmmmmmmmmm...
