mlimardi Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 As of next year, the drop tower won't be there anymore.
CoasterGuy06 Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 ^It's actually been gone for a few months now. It's also not the only ride that CNL bought for their parks....
TheSchwitek Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 I would expect to see something else pop up in a place that is a mile high.
sixflagsgreatadven Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Crappy park. The woodie was nothing special and the Boomerang hurt. Glad they made it into waterpark only.
twilight79 Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Any news for the 2013 season? Would like to know if buzz saw will reopen or any new attractions will be added this year making this park worth a visit again, the ones they added last year just seemed sorta generic.
CoasterGuy06 Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 I wouldn't plan on Buzzsaw reopening anytime soon. It's still up for sale and it's price has been reduced. Plus it's really out of the way from everything left in the park.
twilight79 Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 well that really really sucks, these new owners are going in the wrong direction. hope they have something big coming to replace it
ViperLover Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I just found the website that Rampage is being sold on. Here it is! www.amusement-rides.com/products/wooden-coaster---rampage/23316/
Sandra-A1 Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 I just checked the Splash Adventure website and saw that they are advertising a "New Sea Lion Show" for the 2013 season: http://www.splashadventurewaterpark.com/ I wonder ig there local animal rights protesters will be at the main gate with thei signs when the park opens this seeason? It is a shame there are no new water ride additions. A new slide, or water ride, would be a better addition than a sea lion show!
Rollercoaster Rider Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Just when I thought, The park couldn't get any more dull/ Depressing
Hurricane Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 It also appears that the Zoomerang has been SOLD. Buyer at this stage is unknown... http://amusementtrader.com/189/Rollercosters/listings/32783/Boomerang-RC1300.html
Sandra-A1 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I just saw this announcement: Splash Adventure Announces Plans for a New Trampoline Park in 2014 A new indoor trampoline park will be added to the attractions at Splash Adventure in 2014. It will be located at the Main Street entrance. This news comes on the heels of the Waterpark's recent announcement that its new Sea Lion Splash Show is slated to open during the 2013 summer season. The new indoor trampoline park will be designed to exhilarate everyone with adrenalin-pumping, gravity-defying fun and games. Plans call for a main, freestyle-trampoline court, basketball slam-dunk court, foam pit, and a dodge ball court. It's envisioned to be the ultimate venue for birthday parties, corporate events, church groups, team building outings, and fitness training. Splash Adventure Waterpark is located just minutes from Birmingham and Hoover where 20/59 and 459 meet. I am not thrilled with this news. I think that the water park needs more water rides not a trampoline park!
downunder Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 ^^From screamscape: India - (4/10/13) The latest update on the Zoomerang coaster heading to India is that it will actually be going to a park called “Wonder La”. According to RCDB, there are currently two Wonder La parks in India, one in Ernakulum and one in Bangalore. No one seems sure which of the two parks will get the new coaster.
SharkTums Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 We went to the Wonder La in Ernakulum and the boomerang would be perfect there. The park was busy, had a lot of rides and a water park, but didn't have an upside down coaster. The locals would eat it up.
downunder Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 ^I very much doubt I'll be riding this coaster in it's fourth location. Looks like there's a possibility Rampage may have a meeting with a wrecking ball, that would be sad.
Sandra-A1 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Saw this today: http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2013/05/splash_adventure_waterpark_in.html
GrapesLie Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Im really confused I just saw a thing online saying rampage was open. Is the park side open or closed?
GrapesLie Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Yeah I saw it here. I doubt this is real but WHY! http://alabamaadventure.webs.com/
jedimaster1227 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 ^The park's official website is here: http://www.splashadventurewaterpark.com Rampage, nor the rest of the ride side of this park (what is left of it) is open this season, nor will it likely reopen ever.
Guy T. Koepp Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 ^Yeah, I figured it was wishful thinking. But hey, they were able to reopen HRP as FMP, so weirder things have happened. Not much weirder, but weirder none the less.
jedimaster1227 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 ^But that park had all of its infrastructure functional and maintained. The old infrastructure from the ride's side of Alabama Adventure has been pretty much removed. It'd take a lot of investment to bring that side of the park back up to speed.
Guy T. Koepp Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 ^Don't mess your facts with my insane logic. Just feel the magic and go with it. And by feel the magic, I mean anal. When will you learn Adam.
jedimaster1227 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 ^Laugh all you want... While I ride off into the sunset with Kim.
