Considering how V2's launch system got totally fried after a lightning strike in 2008, I'm going to say no. They might, V2 might now, but if they do, they don't seem to work to well.

Edit, I just checked RCDB, and no, the impulse coasters don't have lightning rods.

^Lol, yeah what would you guys do if lightning had taken out the Dippin' Dots cart?- OMG could you imagine?

I personally wouldn't care. There are 12 million other Dippin' Dots stands in that park. I don't think one lightning bolt could take out all of them.

^Sorry, I did forget about that. I swear when I was there last week, it seemed like one was on every corner. Perhaps they knew you were coming and didn't want to serve to Canadians, which I would find quite rude.

I think holding breaks are weird and annoying. Anytime I'd ride Voodoo (wait, "Posessed" now?), my collar bone would be sore after. It's neat though to watch from a distance, when the breaks catch the train, the spike is suddenly holding all the weight of the train, and the whole tower leans back.

I really hoped that another park would have gotten Chang as I'd take Iron Wolf, as long as it got new trains, over Chang. Don't get me wrong, Chang is still a great ride and it should be great for Great America, but there are other parks in the chain that could use it. I just hope they don't have to take out Whizzer or Demon to build this. I'll still ride it, but I'd rather have several flat ride additions made to the park instead of Chang (or any coaster for that matter)

The only problem I could see is members of the GP not wanting to ride because of how bad Iron Wolf is/was.

Someone did some realt quick Google Earth checks, and it won't fit where Demon and Splash Waterfalls is. That being said, it doesn't mean it won't happen.

If its new the GP will ride it. I havent gotten on Iron Wolf bu it sould still be open next season. Kinda off topic but does anyone know whyt they arent opening until April 24? I was able to get there last year during sping break but next year it wont open for a few weeks after spring break ends.

^Probably to save money. I went the second weekend and there was barely anyone there which I LOVED!!! And as for Chang, it seems like the only possible place to put it is where SSA and the go-karts are. Other less likely locations would be removing Iron Wolf and expanding into the employee parking lot or put it on the other side of Eagle. If we do get Chang (which seems likely at this point in time) I really hope that they can somehow make it floorless.

I'm sure the weather had something to do with it. I thought there was a threat of a snow storm the second day it was open. It would have been awesome though to ride Whizzer during a blizzard!!!

You can yell at me for the bad pun later.

Edit: I've come to realize it's more of a rhyme. Sorry I wasn't focused.

well guys i was a tech there in 2001 vu was my baby i rode it 5,000 times from oct 01 to oct 07. i know a lot of the techs there chang is coming its going were space shuttle is and a long side the water park and some of the parking lot wolf is NOT going any were or is wizzer. go carts are coming out and the water park is geting some thing little my buddy the tech told me thats why they painted the tower . i was there today seen a good buddy in the mangment and there are parts there. im telling you its there i only seen two pices of track and two container tucks wich must be the tran there was a set of steps and some beams all so the tech told me chang will be a fooles not stand up the train from chang will be put on wolf

MOD EDIT, for ease of reading:

Well, guys. I was a technician at SFGAm in 2001. Deja Vu was my baby. I rode it 5,000 times between October 2001, and October 2007. I still know a lot the the technicians at the park. They said that Chang is coming and it will be going where the Space Shuttle is, and along the side of the water park, and part of the parking lot. Iron Wolf is NOT going anywhere, nor is the Whizzer. The go-carts are coming out, and the water park is getting something. My bubby, the tech, told me that is why they painted the tower. I was there today and I saw a good buddy that is in management, and there are parts there. I'm only saw, two pieces of track and two container trucks, which I believe might be the trains. There was alos a set of steps, and some beams. The tech also told me Chang will be a floorless, and the the stand up trains on Chang will go to Iron Wolf.

^Thank you for your wonderful capitalization and punctuation, it really makes posts easy to read. But please, in the future try and use better grammar. Sorry if i'm too harsh, i'm not trying to be.

I think it would be more believable if it was all correct and all. It sounds like a little kid wrote it. You can't ride Deja Vu 5,000 times in 6 days. Considering it is down half the day and it has 10 minute dispatches.

Now most of us already knew how Chang might turn into a floorless and be put where Space Shuttle America was. But try to work on your spelling!

Otherwise, thanks for the message

Yeah, I was hoping Chang would be floorless. I know, no official word yet. The ride is very rough and boring layout (well, just done too many times on too many other B&M rides) as it is.

This is all nice and pretty. I hope Iron Wolf at some point would run close to how it ran when it opened. It was excellent.

Now... WE STILL WANT THE TIDAL WAVE BACK! Hell, weirder things have happened. And huge kudos and hugs to Great America for keeping up the Whizzer.

Posted
Well Tidal Wave is at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom as Greezed Lightnin' and right now it seems like they're getting rid of all of their rides so you never know where it may pop up next.

THAT'S what I was leading to/hoping I mean come on, a few new parts, the ride could be like new. I also think it would go over well from a PR POV. An old ride, comes back, have pics/vids up showing/explaining it's lifespan. Put those awesome tracer lights back on it! Would be a big hit, I think.
