willthegolfer Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 ^^ No, they did not. Those kind of details don't have to be released tonight. Yeah but it would be nice.
Jerrykoala2112 Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 They didn't say RMC, but the blueprints look similar to the blueprints RMC gave SDC for Outlaw Run.
EricGarbo Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 The light is green! Get the contractors out there and start pouring concrete tomorrow!
chickenbowl Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Woohoo! Motion passes! No tunnel. Were they planning on a tunnel or something? That part was hard to understand?
willthegolfer Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Woohoo! Motion passes! No tunnel. Were they planning on a tunnel or something? That part was hard to understand? \ No, a board member proposed a tunnel of 40 feet so they would not have to get it approved.
ilrider Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) Woohoo! Motion passes! No tunnel. Were they planning on a tunnel or something? That part was hard to understand? No plans for a tunnel. A board member suggested dropping the height of the lift 40 ft. by having it go 40 ft. underground, so the lift was 125 ft. above ground, thus, no need for the height variance (which is for anything above 125 ft). Silly idea that's not practical. Doesn't matter now, as the motion for the height variance passed. Now, to wait for the 29th! Edited August 22, 2013 by ilrider
chickenbowl Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) Is the coaster still technically going under ground level without a tunnel? Like having a lift height of 165' but a drop of 180'? EDIT: Or is the drop going to be just 165'? The height variance drawing makes it look like it does go beneath. But I could be wrong. Edited August 22, 2013 by chickenbowl
ilrider Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Is the coaster still technically going under ground level without a tunnel? Like having a lift height of 165' but a drop of 180'? Does not sound like it or look like it from the diagram, though I cannot read the heights on the diagram. Anyone at the meeting who can chime in?

Does not sound like it or look like it from the diagram. Look at the valleys for every other part of the ride, then look at the bottom of the first drop. I think it certainly looks lower.

That twitter pic appeared to have the bottom of the first drop below the bottom of the lift entrance by a decent margin.(scaled down in size it was pretty noticeable)

Yeah, I did notice that, but the bottom of the other hills could just start higher. We know there is no "tunnel" according to the livestream, but "below grade" was never addressed directly I guess. That looks like one steep first drop, and plenty of airtime hills, and possibly at least one inversion! I am getting excited!
Woodie Warrior Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 One lady went on and on about wanting to know if the ride was going to go from south to north or from north to south. It looks like it will go both ways (it is an out and back coaster I think), plus I don't think it would make much of a difference anyways.
GriffyTiffy Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 The 29th is going to be an exciting day! So will the entire 2014 season, for that matter
ilrider Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 ^I am just so pleasantly surprised we are getting another coaster only two years after X-Flight! Never expected it, and it looks already like an awesome coaster. The first drop alone!
vacoaster09 Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) Iron wolf's station is pretty high off the ground so the drop it comes to ground level will be below the base of the lift. Edited August 22, 2013 by vacoaster09
PocketCookie Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 What time of the day have they been releasing the videos?
GoBears Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 What time of the day have they been releasing the videos? Later in the afternoon between 2 to 4 I think but I can't remember exactly.
willthegolfer Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 What time of the day have they been releasing the videos? Both have been between 8:30 and 9 pm.
GoBears Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 I just checked, the last two have been between 2-3 PM.
willthegolfer Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 I just checked, the last two have been between 2-3 PM. Oh ok, i was looking at the Facebook posts not the YouTube uploads.
PocketCookie Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Wonder what will be teased.... probably something to do with County Fair, I hope not though
willthegolfer Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) Found this much clearer layout picture, shows a dive loop http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/862/09iv.jpg Edited August 22, 2013 by robbalvey
