Six Flags Great America (SFGAm) Discussion Thread

p. 513 - Wrath of Rakshasa dive coaster announced for 2025!

^ I want to know what will be removed to make it fit

Assuming anything will. I'd love to see SFGAm shoehorn their latest addition in. Working with constraints often leads to more creativity in the design. Just look at Wodan at Europa Park.

EDIT: OMG look at the ACEr in the stream! XD

Killjoys at the mic. You moved into a house by an amusement park! Love the guy who just muttered "you can move" by the camera!

Should go to a planning meeting for Six Flags America... they need to get approval for almost ANYTHING they do and there is ALWAYS a few complainers.

Given the location diagram posted, it looks like a double out and back design with a possible immelmann or dive loop at the turnaround by the station. It also looks like the old theater will also be staying which is a bit of a surprise. However, it looks like two, possibly three picnic pavilions will be removed to make room.

I am not surprised by it. It's pretty entertaining. I know exactly where all these people live, and it is literally adjacent to the park. What do they expect?

The lady at the mic is clueless about the park. Earlier and earlier noises? The park opens a half hour later this year!

Did I just hear something about lowering the ground 40 ft? Is that somethings that board member wants to do to make it shorter, or something in the plans?

It sounded like a board member suggestion, which was met with the fact that its not viable given the other structures nearby (train tracks)

They were basically saying that if they lowered the ground so that the height of the ride was below 125 feet of the original land elevation that wouldn't matter. The height is measured from ground level, so the new ground height is y = 0 ft.
