coasterdude5 Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Since there's way too many to put in a poll, I thought you could just post your favorite and your least favorite. I'll start.. Favorite -The new Dollywood website. http://www.dollywood.com Least Favorite -Visionland. It's way too complicated and its slow as can be. http://www.visionland.com
BiCoastal Kid Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 ^Agreed! Best: I like Mt. Olympu's site with the awesome animated park map! Cedar Point has the cool banner, as well.
Sir Clinksalot Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I think the worst website will be a landslide. Best ... probably Disney World.
SharkTums Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I agree with you that Mt. Olympus' is pretty cool (kind of looks like RCT!), but it's hard to get any actual information or good photos or descriptions off of it. This is an interesting thread...I'll have to think about it! I know when I visited all of the websites to get opening/closing dates I remember being impressed with some, and downright horrified with others! Elissa "but yeah, Knotts' is pretty bad!" Alvey
Coasterlicious Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 My favorite - Cedarpoint ... it has so much stuff... the pictures, videos, the info, .. its just really nice.. and the webcams are a nice touch.. (when they actually work lol) and the animated banner is cool.. worst?... i dont know.. i havent been to enough of them..
JamminJ Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 With the advent of the Holiblog, definitely www.holidayworld.com Worst? Casino Piers wasn't too particularly helpful.. www.casinopiernj.com I'm sure there are dozens of horrible websites I have yet to visit though..
Rugged One Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I'd have to give a best vote to the Mt. Olympus page. I didn't start getting real excited about Hades until I saw it action on their site. For worst I would have to say the Ocean City Pier Rides page. Just very plain and not very useful. No descriptions of the rides and doesn't even list a ticket plan.
Meteornotes Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Knotts site is a textbook example of how NOT to do a website! What a disaster. I honestly don't look at parks sites too often, as all I'm usually interested in is opening/closing times. Cedar Point has a pretty good one. And Knoebel's is easy to use and find the info you're looking for. dt
Meteornotes Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 ^Wow, I had no idea that existed! I'm signing up now for the prizes! I'm thinking I might be able to win a beer and cheese steak stained t-shirt from one of the ride ops... dt
CoasterFanatic Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Best (Tie): Holiday World - http://www.holidayworld.com Cedar Point - http://www.cedarpoint.com Worst Williams Grove - http://www.williamsgrovepark.com/ // I am not a fan of the Mt Olympus site at all
coasterdude5 Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 Yeah, I keep forgetting about Cedar Point's. It's probably my second favorite!
Wes Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Best ... probably Disney World. Your check is in the mail, sir.
What Now Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Worst: http://www.flamingoland.co.uk Best: Probably WDW
EftelingGal Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Heres my Favorite ThemePark sites 1. ThemeParkReview.com Yay Alveys!!!! Woo Hoo!!! 2. http://www.efteling.nl/ Dutch and English 3. http://wonderwerldweb.startbewijs.nl/ Site is in Dutch 4. http://www.efteling.startbewijs.nl/ Also in Dutch
tinhead Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 This is the worst one i know its been like this for months. CONEY BEACH
robbalvey Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I think we should almost narrow it down to "Worst websites for parks that SHOULD have great websites!" I don't expect the little parks like William's Grove or Uncle Bernies to have good websites. But all the "Major's" should! And sometimes the smaller parks have much better sites that the Majors! For example, www.knotts.com is even WORSE now that they've changed their front page, but all the old pages are still there when you get linked to them. Try to find any good information about Haunt, their biggest event of the year, and the 2nd biggest Halloween event in the world, and it's just pathetic. --Robb
EftelingGal Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Sorry Folks Link number 3 seems to have been taken over by Somthing else
EftelingGal Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Ah here we are 3. http://www.wonderwereldweb.startbewijs.nl/ I apologise for the inconvenience
crispy Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Cliff's used to have a HORRIBLE site, but have imroved to the level of ok www.cliffs.net the worst park website I have ever seen is for the other park in NM, in Farmington http://www.familyfunland.com/
CoasterFanatic Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 I think we should almost narrow it down to "Worst websites for parks that SHOULD have great websites!" Then my vote goes for Six Flags.
dandaman Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 My favourite unofficial site is www.wdwmagic.com. As for official, Cedar Point's site has ensured top spot even further by recently adding a blog (including behind-the-scenes things, secrets, etc.).
maliboomer Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 ^Yeah, the DIS is great. And I agree with Zaneymon, the music on that site destroys your sanity.
