Erik Johnson Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I had the opportunity to attented several annual Halloween special events with a few of my friends from TPR. So let me start off with Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney's Magic Kingdom.MNSSHP: Part 1 Are you ready to get some candy, Chuck? This year's wristband. I really have no idea. Pumpkin #4 and #5: "Do not forget about us!" Pumpkin #3: "Awwwww..." Pumpkin #3: "I bet you can not find the Hidden Mickey!" Pumpkin #2: "Look at me, I am the Music Man." Pumpkin #1: "This is much more difficult to play than the drums in Rock Band." This year's logo. This is what this year's guide/map looks like. Can anyone find the hidden squash? As well as to take Mickey pumpkin photos. This would be a good time to take pumpkin photos. I was at the park several hours before the event, so they were still getting it ready for the evening. The train station is all decked out in Fall/Halloween colors. It looks like we are at the right place. So which is considered to be the hotel wing? Let us take a little boat ride. It looks like someone had a little too much fun with sidewalk chalk. Some random sign. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is always one of my favorite events. Halloween themed parking lot tickets. It sure looked like this parking lot tram was a little lost. It has been a while since I have been through this gate.
Erik Johnson Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 MNSSHP Part 2: Ice Bat knew where the good candy was, so we followed him the rest of the night. Yep, they sure did. I think they liked it. Ready for your ride? Cameron gives his approval of this ride. I guess we can visit Space Mountain, but I do miss the special color building lights they used to do for this event. Too much candy = Crazy Donkey Yum, yes please! This is what a candy bin looks like. "Get out of my way, or give me candy!" Hey, you are not supposed to eat your candy yet. This sign means candy. They have lots of candy over here. Card games do not rot your teeth. "While I do not have raisins, I have something else to give you instead of candy!" NO DONKEY! The Country Bears really needed this. Lou and her freaks. Group huddles are always good in helping to decide where to eat for dinner. Mickey Trojans. "TOO MUCH WATER!" He took out this snake after this photo was taken. Though we do have Jason Bourne to protect us from danger. With this bunch, we might actually never make it back. "Welcome to the Jungle Cruise." Themed Pirates Review. Let us first start off with some high quality MK attractions.
Erik Johnson Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 MNSSHP Part 3: That is it for this section, HHN coming soon. Main Street has some special lights for this event. Its the limbo. Isn't that right? TPR Loves Big Thunder. Here is the new cool lighted item of the year. I can always use more candy. Chicken. Rodent. Dead Dude. Pirate Piglet This is for Lou. As well as the annual Boo To You parade. Fireworks are always cool.
TheHulk Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Oh man, I really miss Space Mountain and Big thunder mountain. Last time I rode either of them was in May for Grad Nite. Anyway...nice pics. I love how you can see the tracks above you on Space Mountain while you're in line.
krazekiddd Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 This was my first time at MNSSHP and I loved it! The firework show was great as well! Good seeing you again Erik (Even if it was brief)
Meteornotes Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Much praise for the Ice Bat photo, though I hope someone got a shot of him in all of his flashing necklace glory. dt
krazekiddd Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 ^That comment you made to Jenn and I totally makes sense now
disneygurlz2s Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 How could you not have a good time with Lou, Chuck and Matt Damon there??? I love the Mickey face made out of the pumpkins/gourds. I have not been to WDW in October; hoping to next yearfor my birthday! Shari
Divv3k Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Great stuff so far Erik! I'm delighted that the spontaneous group huddle dinner debate was captured on camera. The photo of Lou afterwards is awesome too. It was fun hanging with you at the parks. Wish I was still there!
Erik Johnson Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Let us head on over to Universal and IOA next. Dave and Eli told us it was time to head back on over to Universal for some HHN. We went to Mythos for lunch. See, it is true that there is going to be Universal China soon. This is what happens when you blend Scarface and Dr. Seuss. I wish they took this advice before destroying the Enchanted Oak Tavern. I think she had the most fun with the "door attraction" that day. Not even the Grinch could scare her. When it comes to park characters, K.T. has no fear. Poor guy. They are looking at something pretty nasty, but I would not want to ruin it for you. The Gentlemen were pretty creepy. So was the gore. The theming of the mazes this year were top notch. We then had a tour of Body Collectors. Oh dear, I think this guy has seen better days. Spaced out theming. We first had a walkthrough of Interstellar Terror. In the morning, Robb arranged for us to meet up with Michael Roddy for a tour of two HHN mazes. There is nothing to see here, please move along. The moving walkways at Universal are an attraction itself.
jedimaster1227 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 This has been a really great trip report so far Erik! I'm looking forward to your Halloween Horror Nights coverage as well as that of the rest of the weekend. Thanks again for a great time!
Meteornotes Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 ^That comment you made to Jenn and I totally makes sense now Which one, the one where I said something like "I'm really strange"? You would think pretty much everyone would figure that out either by reading any of my PTRs/posts or being around me for about five minutes... dt
the ghost Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 As soon as Im like 21 or out of college I am so going on a TPR Florida trip. I need credits and a new haunt although Knotts will always be my haunted home.
Cameron Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Awesome report Erik, as usual. A co-worker yesterday was complaining that the song "Unchained Melody" was stuck in his head, so I sent him a link to "Boo To You" ... which he's still humming this morning Cameron "It's really not so scary!" Silver
mcjaco Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Five days later and I still have "Boo to You" stuck in my haed. I think that song may be more annoying than "It's a Small World."
U2Rox Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Looks like you guys had a Great Time!!! Love the Pumkin Patch! I've never seen Disney at this time! Good stuff!! Graet TR!!
nay Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Noooo!! I fear that the Boo to You music will be trapped in my head for life. Great TR Erik, and it was nice meeting you! "It's really not so scary!"
SharkTums Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Boo to You is my new ringtone!!! I intend to keep it way past Halloween too!
larrygator Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Five days later and I still have "Boo to You" stuck in my haed. I think that song may be more annoying than "It's a Small World." Impossible!
Brandy524 Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 How did you get it? I want the Monster Plantation song as my ringtone. They better not take out that song when it becomes Monster Mansion. I know I'm getting off topic, but if you can find the song just as a regular song file (I don't know what they're called) you can upload it to www.phonezoo.com and create your own ringtone and then have it sent to your phone, and you only get charged for the text message. I've done it a lot with CDs of mine. Back on topic, it looks y'all had a great time. The Magic Kingdom Halloween party looks like a lot of fun. Can't wait to see HHN pics.
slither37 Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Great Trip Report. HHN looks very good. Once again, an Iron Maiden T shirt makes an appearance in a TR. Of course I am huge fan so I think it is cool. Has it been the same person wearing the Maiden T_shirt in the past TRs I have noticed? Or in t his case, it looks as though someone forgot their Hooters Tshirt. Up the Irons.
Divv3k Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 ^ Scott was too cheap to buy a Hooters shirt and so failed at representing. The Maiden shirt he wore was cool though.
