One final shot of the Cyclone.

We thought this was pretty cool, plus it only costs 25 cents.

Look at that, you are even here in Coney Island.

While I have had Nathan's hot dogs many times before, it was fun to eat at the original one.

After all that riding, it was time to get something to eat.

Its time for another update, this time its Six Flags New England. We actually split up our visit to the park over two days since we had a lot to cover in the area. So this update is just from the first day.

But really, who could blame him?

Jay was really into the Intamin wheel.

Thanks for helping me with an Elissa Bingo square. The check is in the mail.

Yes, they are quite serious about the rules here.

Just beware of the Cyclone all together.

Beware of the last section of the Thunderbolt. There are some extreme airtime moments.

We saw several brand new ACE signs over the next day or so.

I miss Terrence.

We might as well earn a few more credits.

DSC05672.JPG.fddcfe04ca1ff2ab93ecf346f45ad32a.JPG

This is why TPR trips rule, I think I rode it 7-8 times in a row.

DSC05671.JPG.34d596fabdf3d79348f1c61a6487c3f2.JPG

Yes, I really liked it a lot.

DSC05667.JPG.9c82fee2ea625d9048f6d6a31d0e2633.JPG

Oh yeah, we had an hour of ERT on this one as well.

DSC05666.JPG.820893a17fd9d4b6bf7f237ca9c3381b.JPG

Since SFNE has the GOOD Dark Knight coaster, there is no need to build another one. Might as well send it to Six Flags Mexico.

DSC05664.JPG.287456dba59e128e48a53fd62a18a737.JPG

Its a mini-B&M floorless. I found it to be pretty good.

Well, we might as well get the SLC finished first.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Yes I count six of them.

Oops, I forgot to add this to the Coney Island update. Its the Donkey themed bumper car ride.

All these Elissa Bingo references...I hope you won something! And I hope it wasn't too lame, though given where the prizes come from, that's kind of hard.

I have only been to SFNE once, but remember liking it. I do need to make a trip back there some day for more S:ROS rides.

Really enjoying the pics and video. You kick ass.

Great pictures Erik!

Makes me want to go back to SFNE again. Cyclone was such a disappointment for me this year. It was very rough and it shuffled a lot during the duration of the ride. Two years before I remember it being a great ride with lots of airtime, and fun laterals. It has really been getting worse every year.

Can't wait to see more!

Oh yes, I won something. I will post a picture of it at the end of the trip report. It is sitting on my shelf of honor right next to my donkey hat.

On our way over to Lake Compounce we made a short stop at Quassy.

DSC05708.JPG.79bb0ecdd3b929ba04e89fbe48df6a17.JPG

So how was your ride?

DSC05704.JPG.0d726bdd0f9160a127a807f71189bb51.JPG

Actually it was pretty fun.

Due to bad weather, the Mouse was down for a while. Though because TPR is awesome, we waited a little longer to make sure everyone got the credit.

Hey Erik!!!!!!!! Hi Everyone!!!!!!!!!

You do have some really great Pix!!! Seeing all these pix remind me of the good times!!!

I didn't even remember the log flume water making it into my beer Mug!! Ha!

And I LOVe Your Coney Island Pix!! I was able to go on Tues. the 12th! I had a great time there!!

Coney Island is an hour and twenty min. subway ride from Manhattan! And after having a few Brooklyn Lagers I actually fell asleep on the subway, only to wake up an hour later at the Canal station with all these New Yorkers around me! Agh!!! Apparently, you can actually get a ticket for falling asleep on the subway! Who knew!!

Onward to Lake Compounce where Boulder Dash proved to be the biggest surprise of the entire trip. At least for me. In case you did not know, Boulder Dash was recently retracked during the off-season which apparently, according to others who have ridden the ride before, really improved the ride. Its really running like really super insane right now. Its rumored to be slightly tamed for next season because its just blasting around the back turnaround a bit too fast. So if you get the chance, try to make it out there really soon....and make sure you take in a night ride if you can.

DSC05730.JPG.31d5703287b890a951471f2658100b1e.JPG

Hooray for another credit!!

DSC05731.JPG.1c0ddfb67b46689e344ab511fd2539d0.JPG

Along with nighttime ERT on Boulder Dash, they also opened the Kiddie Coaster as well.

DSC05729.JPG.68f66af63c74e2353527f96ee46d9e22.JPG

A sign of quality.

DSC05728.JPG.2be530d817554e4e7506acdf2916d1fd.JPG

The electirc car ride was really good. There was even a drive-in movie theatre along the track.

I can not wait until the DVD.

DSC05723.JPG.7d9985fd5cc705de58c40c143df4ec1f.JPG

It maintains its speed during the whole ride. Actually I think the 2nd half might be faster.

DSC05718.JPG.c6ec3dfb7a66ab5e2e2bfcbd7a4c3ae8.JPG

The entire coaster is built on a wooded mountain.

DSC05717.JPG.28e2762503cf773facd04b24aedcd750.JPG

It sure will get my vote.

DSC05716.JPG.a357ad8ff022103b483a8d5e676902aa.JPG

I had no idea that this was going to become my new #1 wooden coaster. It really was amazing that day.

DSC05715.JPG.f612bebc6cdbba244fb83211c564ef76.JPG

It is another one of those new ACE signs.

DSC05714.JPG.570a027955d251a3126d371bafc460f7.JPG

Though I did not care much for the Wildcat. At least the logo is cool.

I really liked Lake Compounce.

DSC05736.JPG.b59bfbac3b73c2b432d23bff995d5e3f.JPG

We had ERT on Pandamodium. Which spins really fast with 3 people.

Great TR's so far, Erik! Happy to hear that Boulder Dash is your #1. Rich and I love it so much that we got married on it!

I also love the SFNE restroom line. That one always has a line no matter what. Apparently people don't know there's other restrooms in the park. I know I never wait in a line when I'm there.

I have that mini Tornado coaster toy. I wish I could get that whole set.

Great pictures. Is Superman: Ride of Steel really better than Ge Force?

--James

I have never ridden Ge Force so I can not comment on that. I think most people who have ridden both consider Ge Force to be the better of the two.

Rye Playland was one of the scariest parks of the trip! Seriously, when Jenn and I were on The Whip, everyone was looking at us in shock and horror as our car kept coming off the ground about 6 inches! We didn't realize until the end it wasn't normal!

Great shots Erik!

I agree, that had to be the most insane whip I have ever ridden. At least for the one at Rye Playland, if your weight is just right your car can leave the floor right after the turnarounds. We saw a really scared couple while waiting in line. We choose the same car that the couple rode, but Richard and I must have weighed a more than they did because our car did not come off the floor. Needless to say, the ride was still insane.
