COASTER FREAK 11
Could this be more of a description of what the coaster is? It seems more of a product trademark then the name of the actual coaster, though I don't see why Europa would do that as they didn't make the coaster, GCI did. GeorgeT
The are protecting the name...that`s all. First it was "Blue Fire - Mega Coaster" And now "Wodan - Timbur Coaster". And "Mythos"...that was just the project-name. Greeds...GeorgeT
Kooky
it looks like it really will be the name... here is one other artwork of the logo! I think they use "Timbur Coaster" because it fits in this area and it sounds way cooler than "Wodan - wooden coaster": SOURCE: http://airtimers.com/wodan-timbur-coaster-der-europa-park-mythos-hat-einen-namen/0012333/

bottom_feeder_13
With all the theming I thought this was going to be named Yggdrasil, which personally I think would be a much better name.
_koppen
With all the theming I thought this was going to be named Yggdrasil, which personally I think would be a much better name. There's not really much in theming that relates to Yggdrasil.
vekoma_fan
"Wodan" is a great name I think...and "Timburcoaster" is the scandinavian name for wooden coaster... scandinavian?! WTF???
Olov
It's called träbana in Swedish, not sure about the Danish and Norwegian but I think it's trärutchebane? Wodin would have sounded better as well... but that's just me being a grumpy old man
GeorgeT
(@ vekoma_fan : Why WTF ??? Are we really talking about a huge problem here ???) Anyway...calm down please...Island is a part of scandinavia, and the islandish word for wood is TIMBUR !!! Greeds...GeorgeT

There's not really much in theming that relates to Yggdrasil. No, a few pages back there was a large sign that said Yggdrasil as well as some of the theming elements they showed on the last page looked tree like, it just all pointed in the same direction. Yeah, I saw that, looks pretty good. I just think that if they were to name the coaster after the tree, they need to have a little bit more theming of it. Kinda like a huge fake tree and the coaster twisting around it.
Kooky
i saw the pics, too. Maybe this signs are part of the storyline OR it will be the name! After reading a lot i found out that this artwork and the name were saved a long time ago from the EP. And the EP never officially confirmed that name... so Yggdrasil is still in the race... Bryce232
New pictures on GCI's Facebook! "A view of some future great first drop photos" "About to jump over Atlantica." "The lift hill structure is complete."
Kooky
Sorry...but...ummmm...no ...think you are right. Wodan is the more logical name compared to the myths! I just thought because the artwork and the name were known a long time before the coaster were build. But now it really seems to be final name and that the other signs were build for theming and the storyline
turbolaaf
I really like the new look, seeing from the splashbattle into the first drop. It totally changes the look in the back of the park. It's also a good thing for the workers that the weather isn't that cold and wet this year. The main structure is for 75% or more done. The other parts and tracking should be better to do in less weather then lifting large parts of bends. I'm so there next april.....
SuperBuckalew
Does Europa Park put up a ferris wheel in the winter? I see one in the last picture that I have never seen before.
coasterfreak101
The view from the splash battle is so great! ^I think I read a few pages back that they do install a temporary ferris wheel every winter?
turbolaaf
It's indeed only for the winter. It's a large ferriswheel that normally is on the fair traveling around Germany.
Moose
I am absolutely loving the interaction of this with its neighboring coasters. Where do they set up the ferris wheel? Is it someplace where there'd be room for a year round wheel?
Jackie Chan
^No, the ferris wheel is located in the emptied lake of Atlantica. I know this picture found on epfans.info doesn't illustrate this... but just for the beauty of it:

Is it someplace where there'd be room for a year round wheel? This picture was taken at the top of the ferris wheel. So it`s relativly easy to imagine, that the bottom is where Atlantica Supersplash has it`s turnaround...hope you guys know the place a littlebit so that my explanationand the choosen photo really helps ( Source : EP Board)
SharkTums
^^Whoa! I totally missed that snow tubing there!??! I'm assuming this is for their winter event only, is it any good?
AstroDan
Yes it's pretty fun! They used to have it in Portugal but they moved it to Iceland this year. There's a corner - last year I almost got kicked in the face as I was a little over zealous when leaning over to spectate on my friends. Really can't wait, going for New Year again from 29 Dec - 2 Jan! Edited December 5, 2011 by AstroDan
