runnerodb83
You know, I dont want to sound like I know what I am talking about, because I dont, so I am going to rephrase my comment into a question...lol: Is it common for track to show up before the footers have been dug up yet? ...lol. track hasnt shown up yet....lets not jump the gun...that track could be going ANYWHERE...remember theres been no official announcment at SFMM yet...which means there could be other parks with no official announcment but are still prepping for a new coaster
Guy T. Koepp
Chances are good MM won't make a formal announcement untill the ride is half built. Guy"We have no plans for a new ride next year at this time." Koepp
runnerodb83
^same with any other park. there are a at least 5 major parks east of texas that could be getting a new ride next year that no one goes to and reports about. Six Flags Enchanted Village and Wild Waves near seattle is supposed to get a new ride soon, and it closes after labor day, then reopens in sept and december and then closes till may. Sir Clinksalot
Track spotting! A close friend Andrew Hartman just called about 20 minutes ago and said he just passed a piece of red and orange B&M brake track on I-44, while he was heading to SDC. It's not for Patriot at WoF as it's going the wrong direction... The only possible delivery point I could think of is either a SF park in Texas or SFMM. Thoughts? Could be heading for SFOG .... Or SFNO to shore up the levy ...

runnerodb83
^ really isnt the forum for it, but last i heard they might get a new ride in 2006 or 2007...thats a rumor however, but an Invert over the lake would be cool, and thats the rumor i heard, but i take that with a grain of salt 8) however, that was all before the most recent six flags debocle...the park might get sold to another company, and if thats the case, all bets are off. Mr.Six
Yeah, I highley doubt that SF will sell Magic Mountain. Seeing as how its one of their few parks that is actually sucessful.
arrowfanman
Is it really sucessful? Because, for being tied for the most [standing] roller coasters in the world, it sure doesn't attract that many people.

arrowfanman
I rarely go on weekends at all, until the offseason.... Ok, so weekends and summer and holidays rake in a lot of people. However, weekdays in summer are very doable, and it isn't that crowded. All in all, I heard that in '04, they raked in 2.3 million visitors, placing it in 19th place (of most visited parks). Is that really that many people, considering that they are tied for the most coasters? Its just a question.
Tmcdllr
I'm about 15 minutes away from Paramount's Great America, go there often but it's nothing like Magic Mountain. It would have been nice if PGA kept Stealth, strange they took out their most popular ride to put in a 'water park.' - But that's the direction they are going I guess. I do really enjoy Magic Mountain, so many great rides I just wish it was closer and according to what everyone is saying they are putting in a new B&M Flyer -that should be really awesome. I can't wait to go there when it is opened. Always wanted to try Flashback but it was never running when I've been there. I believe it's going away soon, what was that ride like? ebl
^ Flashback gave you flashbacks! With all the headbanging anyway. You haven't missed much. Eric
arrowfanman
Flashback should have been sponsered by Excederine.

ChemicalWhore
from the one time i rode flashback my head hurt like crazy when i got off.
SharkTums
I've ridden it about 5 times. 2 times I had great rides with no headbanging and really enjoyed the ride. 3 times I felt like death afterwards! That's the problem with the ride, it wasn't that great to begin with and was quite 'hit or miss' (emphasis on HIT) with the roughness.
sfmmFREAK
i actually liked flashback. sure it is bumpy, but i have been on rides that are MUCH more rough.
SLUSHIE
Oh man Flashback was a fun ride! Not! It was interesting to ride though. As you came to a dive you would be all like "Oh crap." Then after you came out of it you would be all like "Ok, that sucked, but it's cool now." But then you realised you were heading into another one and would be all like "CRAP!" again and again and again. All like all like all like. SharkTums
TRACK HAS ARRIVED!!! Okay, so there's only one little piece in this update, but this confirms that it is a B&M, and it is a nice Red & Yellow color. Check back for a full update tomorrow! For now, on to the pictures! And finally here's a closeup of the track. Check back for a full update tomorrow! Here you can see the color of the track, and it also looks like it must be a Station/Transfer/Maintenance piece with all the extra stuff on it. Track is being kept in an old overflow lot off of Old Road.

4718
And now for something completely different: Thrill Shot's cart has arrived back at the ride! Well, the bottom half of it, the top half is still next to Psyclone, but it should be reopening within the next week! I'm happy, and know I'll be riding it and taking on ride pics again.
