sixflagsfans3793
Survey about a new coaster they are putting up next year. Trying to get a name for it (Justice League, Wonder Woman, etc) Where did you find the survey?
Vonni
As exciting as that sounds, I'll believe it when there's an announcement. It's been 16 years since a new coaster. Â Â Lol it probably wont be new. It will probably be a relocated coaster. There was that rumor of VV being removed from SFGAm......
boldikus
I wouldn't get too excited. Its chain-wide (as always). Great Adv peeps got the same survey. And while it may have mentioned a roller coaster it seemed to me the emphasis was finding out what character/themeing people preferred. It asked about different DC characters and then got specific about whether you'd prefer a Wonder Woman or Justice League roller coaster. They could apply that to any ride, but people I'm sure are more likely respond to a survey where they are talking about a "roller coaster" as opposed to themeing in general. Â A Wonder Woman(WW) or Justice League theme for V2 would make no sense if it is relocated, but it is SF. The Batman theme on the 4D at FT was also weird. Highridin
Pretty sure that's a universal SF survey. I filled out the same one for SFGAm... Â You are correct. Not a free spin, from the 'description'
djackson
I am a little confused as to why after all these years the state of maryland/D.C region has done really absolutely nothing to try fixing this park I mean for pete's sake their have been violent gangs, and a few stabbing incidents that have occured at the park over the last 2 decades. I have never visited the theme park before but defintely heard a couple of terrible events that have gone down inside this very small Six Flags Park just only about 15 minutes from our nation's capital. Big question if this is all true about SFA why is this park still open to the public come summer time and when halloween fright fest rolls around in October? I see hurricane harbor is not doing too bad but other than that should this park just give it up in terms of trying to change for tge better in the near future? Is it really located in a ghetto neighborhood of Washington D.C? I understand it's a dump....rides are breaking down constantly. Is D.C/Baltimore due for a new theme park or what? Why drive 1-2 to Doswell,VA to go to K.D or drive further to go to one of the best parks on the east coast BGW and water country usa water park? First, Maryland has no control over what Six Flags does with the park. No there hasn't been violent gangs nor has their been stabbing at SFA recently. It's located in a suburb that's not very close to Baltimore and attracts many families. Sadly you have been misinformed and ingrained with the same mindset as all the other pessimistic people who just look at this park as bad because a decent portion of its clientele and employees are black. Yes there has. They have had to put the park on lockdown or close early like two or three times that I know.

The reason I go to SFA is I've been to those other parks and it's actually a good change of pace and rides you can't ride anywhere else exactly, or as easily in the case of 2. I just don't go near as often as to KD. It's actually a nice park, just small with a tendency towards aging rides. Their Holiday is more to my tastes than BGW's Christmas Town. Plus a SFA pass is good across America and costs less.  I've seen a few people there in 20 years I might want to keep my distance from, but mostly it's families trying to have a good time, mostly kids during the week. What rides are breaking down 'constantly'. To make the assertion, you must have details. Yes, Batwing acts up on occasion, but EVERY park has their headache ride or two. MisterBrow
http://www.wusa9.com/news/local/maryland/bomb-threat-reported-at-six-flags-america/271899888  See something, say something. They followed best practices in dealing with threats. Better safe than sorry. The area was still bouncing back from the Baltimore riots. The park is not in a ghetto. Prince Georges county is one of the most affluent predominantly African-American counties in the country. If you are concerned about sharing Penguin raft with a black family...then maybe pick another park...we won't miss you. There have been a couple of newsworthy fights over the years, but I have not seen any, and major problems have been eliminated by the metal detectors. Some kids horsing around maybe. My own kid got yelled at for running one time two seasons ago, people looked, and we were embarrassed.  The only theme park fight I have seen ever was at SF great adventure last year waiting for the Joker which was a totally wild line standing thing out of nowhere. Same day I saw a kid who did not speak English ignore a restricted area sign to hop a gate on Green Lantern to get back to his friends. Way away from from danger but security was all over it in minutes, it was quite reassuring. We were at Kennywood in 2015 for the 4th and someone got hit with a celebratory bullet from the neighborhood. Last August, just a week after we visited Busch Gardens Tampa, a guy grabbed a flamingo from an exhibit and killed it. You are in a place with thousands of people. After the Orlando shootings Disney World dramatically increased their police force.  Why not drive further? Why not stop and form your own opinion? Ride superman and catch a glimpse of the Redskins stadium in the distance. Ride Wild One. Hop on the Lasso and catch the Washington monument in the distance? The Geek Mojo
Looks like I'm going to be visiting this park for the first ever on opening day, April Fools Day. Just curious how operations are on opening day for those of you that may have visited in the past on opening day. I usually go to SFOG on opening day and their operations there are pretty terrible on opening day. They get better as the season goes along, but that first day...YIKES!! So, just curious on SFA. I'll be visiting BGW the day before, and have Six Flags passes, so I'm like why not...Let's pay this Six Flags park up the road a visit.

Jason Maier
I don't recall any gang fights or stabbing incidents at SFA, but I do remember the bomb threat last year. Â That said, I recall being told that apparently, bandanas are a no no there, as was the chain attached to my wallet.
ThrillRideLover7814
I was'nt criticizing SFA at all by all of their troubles and I hope I am wrong, I happen to be african american so yes I also am aware prince george's county is prediminately black. I go to kennywood since I am in the western pa region mostly every summer ai visit their but getting back on topic I really do miss the typhoon sea coaster and skull mountain I know it got retitled later on. But SFA could use a themed water flume ride. Maybe put a aquaman theme to it? But SFA on the dry side of the park is due for an expansion....the water park has expanded yes but why won't they focus on the drier side of the park now just curious? A brand new roller coaster would be nice for six flags america....you know even a justice league dark ride would be nice too since it is being introduced to other six flags parks across the nation. Canobie Coaster
Just curious how operations are    That bad, eh? lol  Batwing was a one train wait and that amounted to about 15 minutes. The only ride I remember having fast dispatches was Joker's Jinx.
Highridin
JJ and Wild One have pretty fast dispatches. Roar got way better as the year went on. They started this 'we are leaving in 30 seconds thing ' Worked most of the time. In my opinion, it's usually the riders that hold up dispatches. sirloindude
It is the riders, but up to a point. I don't think that guests in some markets are markedly slower than their counterparts in others, nor do I think that guests on some rides move slower than others. I think that crews who move quickly establish a sense of urgency that inspires guests to get in and out of the trains quickly as well. I worked Batwing in the fall of 2005 and on one evening, station A had four ride ops and station B had two, which were myself (having just moved back to MD after a summer working X-Flight at Geauga Lake) and one other ride op who liked moving quickly. There were four instances during the evening where we dispatched two trains (including having to override the normal alternating sequence for the rotating switch-track just outside of the station) before the other side got one, and it wasn't because we just magically had faster guests. My coworker and I just really cared about dispatching trains on a low-capacity ride as quickly as we could. Â My experiences with SFA both as a guest and employee over the years have shown that that park is not overly concerned with efficient operations. bill_s
^^-- I think that so often there's no reason for urgency they get too used to it.
