Crazy4Coasters! Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 On www.xtremecoastin.com they have a video showing TTD stuck on the peak of the top hat!!! You can actually see a ride mechanic help TTD get over the top. This is so awesome!!! I wish I was one of the riders... It had to be a great view!!! 8) Here's the link! http://www.xtremecoastin.com/videos/misc_videos_wmv/ttdstuck_2005.htm
disneygurlz2s Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 I would be scared to death... bottom line! Shari
phazan Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 so what was the guy that was climbing around on the train for? and who was he?
Coasters 4 ever Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 It's described in detail at www.coasterfanatics.com.
zaneymon Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I would be scared to death... bottom line! Same here
Angry_Gumball Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 They shoulda pushed it backwards for a second launch. That would have been sweet.
socalMAN123 Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Wow! That would be the most memorable and coolest thing that would ever happen in my life! I'm very jealous! ---Brent 8)
CoasterCrazy Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 It would be awesome to get stuck at the top of TTD!8)
kat11joe Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 it's described in detail at coasterfanatics.com Can someone please tell me what page that is on at that site? i'm having trouble finding it. Thanks!
Coasterkid20 Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Did any one else see at the beginnning of the video when they first zoomed in some people rocking back and forth trying to get it off of the top. That was flippin awesome!
PhishyBrewer Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Must of have had an awesome view of Sandusky bay and the coal docks. If they were facing the other way, they could probably see Canada.
Sir Clinksalot Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Did anybody hear her on the phone? Was she talking to someone who was on the ride??? Sure sounded like it to me. Either way, it was cool and something you are not likely to see again anytime soon.

Thanks! Here is a better link: http://www.coasterfanatics.com/sec_news/news_detail.asp?id=658 Don't ask how I know these things // the real credit goes to the Sandusky Register.
dandaman Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Apparently, TTD has only been stuck at the top 3 times (and I use "only" loosely, because most people thought it could never happen...). Twice during testing (there's a different video of the second one somewhere...), and the one you see on xtremecoastin.com with passengers.

Jak Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Whoa  , I would be really frighted if that was me , but i'm sure a lot of people would pay for that kind of experience!
Cameron Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 I know I'll get slammed for this .. but man, a $25,000,000 ride, and some shleb has to manually push the train over the top! Cameron.
Coasterkid20 Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Cameron We both will get slammed for this. I personally Think if I had 30 million dollars to invest in a coaster I would stear clear of Intamin as a whole. There rides are lawsuits waiting to happen, snapping cables, thrown riders, valleying........ I'm being very general about this but if I was a park looking into a major thrill ride that would be extremely popular and extremely reliable I would go with B&M. Although there ideas are not outside the box.........
top thrill Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 that is amazing i would love to ride TTD some time but ill never be able to go to america any time soon. if any of the riders on that train are a member of theme park review get intouch !!!!!!!!
Twister II Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Nothing new, but your a lil late on the news. This has happened before, not only once, but 5 times now. Only 2 times with riders.
phazan Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 did it actually balance at the top or were there brakes that that stopped it? it sounds too rare that it would get stuck balanced 5 times.
Coasters 4 ever Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 ^Believe it or not, it sat there "perfectly balanced" for the 5th time.
phazan Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 no, the more i think about it the more i doubt it. any type of wind could probably blow it over if it was perfectly balenced. also, the guy who got out of the elevator did something before he pushed the train down. now im not trying to sound like i know everything but it just seems imposible.
