TyRush Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Did you guys miss the pic of GS's station? Beautiful! I think its photoshopped! There is no way that its real No but it honestly looks wonderful! GCI always puts together a great ride
Tmcdllr Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 LOL!!! Yeah, this can't be real, a covered station here? It must be a pic from another park! It does look very good though and I can;t wait to see it in person.
JJnCFL Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 A roof a roof, we finally get a roof! *Dances a jig* And a happy 20th Anniversary to Top Gun...err Flight Deck, my very first ever B&M!
Randomman295 Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 A bit off topic from Gold Striker... I just watched a POV of Flight Deck. That thing is bananas! It looks like I would black out on it, but would any of you cal it the most forceful B&M out there?
Condor Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 I love how someone bothered to make this plane some sort of F-14 / F/A-18 bastard child. They put F-14 intakes on an F/A-18 fuselage. What's even worse is that the big mural on Flight Deck's station has Air Force F-15s (which the Navy has not nor could ever operate) flying over a carrier. Not that I expect parks to get these things right or anything. The aviation nut in me just finds it hilarious.

It looks like I would black out on it, but would any of you cal it the most forceful B&M out there? I would call it very intense and a lot of fun! ......STILL a lot of fun!

It looks like I would black out on it, but would any of you cal it the most forceful B&M out there? I would call it very intense and a lot of fun! ......STILL a lot of fun! It is definitely one of the most forceful B&M's I have been on (I've ridden Flight Deck, Silver Bullet, Batman, Riddler, Scream, Medusa, Vortex, Tatsu). I would have to say that Batman at Magic Mtn. feels the most forceful IMO due to its compact track design. FD's elements are more spaced out over the track while Batman throws everything at you like...
JJnCFL Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 New white lighting posts have finally gone up in the parking lot... Close up
#1rollercoasterfan Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Something interesting I found I have a feeling this is what the Gold Striker trains will actually look like: http://www.cagreatamerica.com/things-to-do/fast-lane#
Andrewoplis Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I have a bit random of a question, but how does fast-lane work? Does buying one mean that you can ride all the selected rides as many times as you want, or are you limited to one ride per ride?
Angry_Gumball Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Gold Striker wheel via Instagram. Full reveal later today...be excited!!! And Fast lane is unlimited use on any of the rides. You can get in line at any time rather than checking in at a given time.Fast Lane consists of 2 seperate queues that merge at the station. It's pretty seemless/smooth from what I've seen.
CGA_88 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 That is why I prefer Fast Lane over other virtual queue pay versions. A simple wristband, and you get unlimited access to any of the rides. And they actually took time to build separate queues for those rides that did not have anything set up yet. That's the big one for me, is how the queue lines are set up. SFDK does a pretty good job of having there lines merge. Never had a problem there. SFMM on the other hand...don't get me started. Can't wait to see the trains! What I have heard is that one train will be predominately gold while the other will be predominately burgundy/red.
Double0Kevin Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I don't know why, it's just this feeling I have in my gut... but I think the trains are going to look like every other Millennium Flyer ever made.
Angry_Gumball Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 *drool* Now I'm anxious to see the front grille with gold striker logo
Double0Kevin Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Totally called it, just like every other Millennium Flyer. Pretty though and I like the red with the gold stripe.
Tmcdllr Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 The parking lot lights look like LED fixtures. Love the trains too, beautiful hand-crafted coaster goodness! from the fast lane page... from today... Looks good. i want one of those wheels!
Swornenemy Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I have to imagine that they are pretty close to test runs now. Hope to see a real pov released for it or just some off ride footage by the park.
JJnCFL Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 (edited) Sexy wheels! Yay no more sharing lapbars on a woodie *cough Grizzly*! lol Love the Red & Gold colors too, great color combo for many reasons.... Also loving the rock/boulder theming taking shape in the entrance! Thanks to ACE NorCal & Ryan for sharing the pics! Edited March 23, 2013 by JJnCFL
Blue Fire Guy Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Yes! Yes! Yes! Millenium Flyer goodness and some theming in those pics too! Makes me anxious for how the rest of the queue will look. But really, its all about those shiny new steel wheels. They made me drool the most out of everything I saw...
Angry_Gumball Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 I really can't wait to see (and ride of course) the finished product. I totally did not notice the boulder theming behind the trains. Now I'm taking this very very lightly but someone mentioned on the CGA Facebook about LEDS in the wheels. Now that would be pretty sweet to see 'sparking' wheels at night and see the tunnel flicker as you take the tunnel
Double0Kevin Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 ^ That clear plastic part looks in at the bearings, It will be half full of oil (or some kind of lubrication). I highly doubt LEDs would survive in there. The wheels look just like the ones on Roar and I've spent a fair amount of time looking at those.
Angry_Gumball Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 That's what I kind of figured, either bearing related or packing material to protect components. *Goes to look up MF trains*
azza29 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 I totally want one of those coaster cars to use as a couch. Looks so comfy!
