hamu86 Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I am here at the Kawasemi debut with my blackberry and a couple of cameras. Hopefully I can get a report out a little later.
hamu86 Posted March 2, 2008 Author Posted March 2, 2008 Plenty of airtime on this sucker. Don't like the turn at the end of the first drop -- the drop is too short as it is to have it interrupted like that -- and the operations are crap. The ride is a little short but overall very fun. Based on my experience, it offers the most single points of airtime in the country, although of course other coasters have significantly more intense and longer moments of airtime. It certainly beats its boring cousin Thunder Dolphin. Will try to get in a third ride shortly.
ECZenith Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I've been waiting to see this thing in action since I first heard about it, can't wait to see the photos! The world had gone long enough without an Intamin megacoaster, its good someone finally built another one.
Loefet Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 There is more stuff in the official thread about this coaster. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=537334#537334 But more photos are always better.
coastakid Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 ^ Thanks for taking the time to post the photos and review. In my own eyes, the coaster looks very decent. It seems to have some very strong air, but I can't judge that seeing as I haven't ridden it yet... Well anyways, you're pictures were great, and I can't wait to see more! -coastakid
Hand 0f Time Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 It does indeed have an intresting layout. But I'm not sure why, but that ride just looks really fake. Don't ask. I don't see it being a favorite for more than a couple of weeks.
Tanks4me05 Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 The world had gone long enough without an Intamin megacoaster, its good someone finally built another one. Technically, it isn't a Mega Coaster - rcdb lists it as an Intamin Mega-Lite. (It took me a few seconds to understand why they called it that.) But I agree, with rides like MF and SFNE's S:ROS, I don't understand why these aren't made more often.
PKI Jizzman Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 The best part of this, to me, is that now a fricken' zoo is going to have a better coaster than my home park (Kings Island).
Tanks4me05 Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Daaang, for something that small, it looks like it pulls some pretty serious G's and airtime! It looks like a mini SFNE S:ROS/Maverick.
coastercrazed49 Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Wow thanks for the video. This looks like a ride that could break the top ten for steel coasters for next year once more people ride it. Also that first drop looks amazing and looks like it provides some amazing airtime.
carolinacaniac Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Just watching that video almost made me feel the airtime! Looks like it is a winner, perhaps some parks here in the states will look into adding rides like this.
hamu86 Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 This may or may not offer better resolution. But here it is anyway, at least until I take it down. http://www.djham.com/pictures/kawasemi.html
Reon Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 That ride looks simply amazing. We really need a copy of it here in the states...
Steffen_Dk Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I'm so going to ride its "sister" at Djurs Sommerland. Those airtime hills looks insane, and what a smooth ride
Force 310 Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 If Intamin ever builds a Mega-Lite in the States, I will be grateful. (Not because of any personal grudges against Japan, more the fact that it's nearly halfway around the world.) The amount of airtime present in that video gives me happy feelings inside.
SharkTums Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I give permission for any park that wants to clone this!!!!
alpengeist04 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Heck with a rumored B&M hyper for BGT, I'll take one of these instead.
Wood Dragon 1988 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I give permission for any park that wants to clone this!!!! Yeah, it would be awesome if this is the new Batman: the Ride. I agree, it looks great. It simply tears through that layout, and there's hardly any straight track that's not an airtime hill! What a creation.
Shockwave Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Wow, I'm really looking forward to riding it's cousin in Denmark in June now!
OldJJman Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I'm just glad I decided to add Japan to the end of my China/Korea trip!!
