robbalvey Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I will tell you all that TPR is picking up tons of extra park maps to put in our bags of crap! We have posted a few ways to get them so keep an eye out for it! As for the weather, yeah the rain is annoying but at least everything is open! Thanks again to Big Mike for all the photos. --Robb

Big Mike Posted June 12, 2009 Author Posted June 12, 2009 Hey Fantastic Friends!!! Today was Farup Sommerland and Tivoli Friheden! Another day of rain, so I apologize for fewer people pictures today, but I will replace them with: BIG MIKE FREE FALLING 150 FEET ON A SCAD TOWER!!! Hope you enjoy! Peace, Big Mike Big Mike has conquered the SCAD tower and once again is victorious on an extreme ride Hope you enjoyed! Peace, Big Mike A quick pump of the fist upon exiting and the free fall is complete! The net holds! Big Mike has survived! Big Mike smashes into the net below, did it hold him or did he blow right through the net? Big Mike flying through the air! The second when they pull the cord and you are released to fall 150 feet! They strap you up and then push you out and center you for the fall, still smiling! (Thanks to Hanno for the next 5 pictures!, thanks good buddy!) Big Mike high up on the tower all smiles for the jump! Taking the elevator up to the top, no backing down now! It was kind of them to give me a matching hockey helmet to match my hockey jersey! Big Mike gets strapped up to take the plunge!!! As you can see, just you and the air! Imagine dropping from the top of this tower to the net below, NO CABLES OR WIRES! A 150 foot FREEFALL! Tivoli Friheden has a SCAD tower, and Big Mike had never experienced one of those yet! This is Rich hogging the camera, he is a cool dude everyone Mmmmm
rydrmr9 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Way to go Big Mike, Looks like you had a heck of a time!! I have always wanted to do one of those scad towers. They look insane! Hope you guys are having a great time!! Cant wait to see what crazy things you guys do next! ~Ryan
The Bebes Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Wow, that scad tower looks soooooo fun, you are one brave man Big Mike!! We're so happy to see that you're having such a good time!
STR8FXXXINEDGE Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 That's awesome, Big Mike! I have always wanted to do a SCAD tower. I went to Mt. Olympus in the Wisconsin Dells, and never knew that there was a SCAD tower right across the street till I got home and saw it on the travel channel. I was bummed! Glad you got to experience one, though! That's a bummer you guys are having all this rain. It looks like it's not getting in the way of the fun though, so that's good.
moinab Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 So, what did you think of it? It looks terrifying, yet exhilarating!
krazekiddd Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I love the SCAD tower! I did it on the Midwest trip and it as amazingly awesome! Odd they put a hockey mask on. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Wood Dragon 1988 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 It's funny that in all my years of coaster enthusiasm I never knew what a SCAD tower was until I saw one on a Travel Channel show yesterday! I guess there's one in the Dells in some park I've never heard of, but they look awesome. It is definitely on my "things to do before I die" list.
JimmyBo Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Those are some sexy legs you got there Big Mike. Now I know why all the ladies come flocking to you!
Coastinmiller Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Awesome pics so far Mike. I have always wanted to do a scad tower, glad you got the opportunity to do one. Looks like you guys are having a great time. Looking forward to more updates!!
Lenaapple1974 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Wow, I have seen that on extreme rides on the Travel channel! No way I would do that... (well, probably not). But you make it look sooooo easy! lol. Congrats on #800 - I am off to be an Adventurer today... (wish me luck!)
ParkTrips Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Whats the beer in the stemware? Its certainly not Carlsberg...
KrakenKing Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Set up looks a bit different from the one in the Dells. There was no "Side Elevator" that took you up. Just a single carriage that was hoisted up in the middle, which also made the net raise. This one looks a bit safer. Oh, and we didn't get a helmet either, which caused me to jam my knee into my mouth.. but it wasn't that hard, so it was okay. Looks like you had a great time!
traincrossin Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 That picture was totally for the ladies! Wow, those Scad towers look insane! I would never try them. Yesterday was the first time I went on Giant Drop and I was freaking out! Glad you're having fun Big Mike
Big Mike Posted June 13, 2009 Author Posted June 13, 2009 Hello Fantastic Friends!! We are now in Sweden, just took a ferry over from Denmark! Today we were at Djurs Sommerland and Karolinelund! Here are some Friends, Family, and Loved Ones pics along with the ferry ride! Peace, Big Mike Hope you enjoyed! Peace, Big Mike Can you spot the TPR people in the shadow? Big Mike's ferry ticket.
traincrossin Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 OMG OMG OMG Intamin Megalite! How does that rank on your coaster list? Also, it's a good thing your bus driver likes roller coasters.
spaceace12 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Looks like it is time to go on a dinner date....you seem to like her. Great pictures.
thecoasterkid Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Fudge #1 is on the trip now too!? Blahhhh. I am not at all pleased. Thanks for keeping us posted Mike! I really appreciate the Friends, Family, and Loved Ones updates! They let me know who I have to blackball once the trip is over.
coasterer Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Thanks for keeping us updated Big Mike. Amaaaaaazing reports so far. Can't wait to hear what you thought about Piraten
PKI Jizzman Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I love seeing the Xavier hoodie! You know who you are! And Piraten looks amazing. There should be more of them.
Speeddeamon128 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Awesome update again Big Mike! I'm guessing the weather is cold over there since everyone is wearing hoodies & jackets?
Mataceman Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Hello valuable Big Mike readers and Big Mike! I just returned from my personal mid-west trip and I have some news about the mystery cards hidden out there. First off are the parks we know about. Coney Island (Ohio) Found the mirror! But it was Gone! Holiday World Gone too!!! What about Beech Bend? Nobody had made any comments about even looking for this card in the past so maybe I still have a chance! If someone goes over to get it from the next train I will beat them up for it! Success! After all that I am glad it was still there. Big Mike you did a good job hiding this one as I was on my hands and knees in the station looking for it. And me on Rumbler with the million dollar ticket Finally the last park I shared with Big Mike, Kings Island. looks like the same picture from Big Mike! WHATS THAT!!! COULD IT BE!!!! IT IS!!!!! In my own defence having one ticket already I thought about leaving this one for another valuable Big Mike reader. The longer I looked at the ticket I could tell the weather was getting to it. As you can tell the ticket had started to peal apart from the harsh weather 300ft up on the tower. With the ticket not looking so good I decided it would be better for the ticket to be found than to blow away and never to be seen again. So thats 2 Mystery Mike cards found by me. Now If only I knew when Big Mike was coming to the new england area to get his picture I would almost be there. Also if only I could spot those silly ducks! Another last thought too, Am I the only non-local to find a mystery mike card? I don't remeber anyone saying they had found one outside there local park. Just a thought.
