nicman
^This is why Canada's wonderland needs another people-eating coaster like leviathan.

nicman
^But it will still get some people on the rides instead of the mazes.

CedarFair1
Signage and review for Halloween Haunt, and Virtual Reality is now for guests to use on Thunder Run for FREE! Small update around Skyrider area. Â Mazes (ranked) Â 1. Streets of the Undead 2. Spirit Manor 3. The Ruins 4. Terror of London 5. Blood Shed 6. Louisiana Scream 7. CornStalkers 8. The Asylum 9. SciFi House 10. Club Blood (worst haunt there by far) Virtual Reality booth set up for guests to ride. It's free with the agreement you will sign a waiver and fill out a survey after. Looks like they are turning off the water mains near Skyrider, this is where a bunch of tree's were recently cut down 3 weeks ago. more red markers appeared this weekend in splash works directly across from Skyrider all the trees on splash works side are now marked too front entrance decor, it looks really nice especially with the mountain projectors at night. Medieval Faire haunt decor troll animatronic at the medieval faire bridge was $1 on opening night it's now $2, It was a very popular attraction. The clown sitting on a chair really high above the pond yells insults at guests and you pay to throw balls at a target to try and knock him into the pond. VERY SMART IDEA WONDERLAND! This is the high "sink the jerk" attraction This maze is unique but not that great this year. Little scares and the other 4 main mazes that got serious upgrades make this one a lack luster now! 5/10 Rating okay wow, The Ruins is some serious movie set this year. They went in there and made a permanent like movie set lol. There's concrete/ stuco walls that make it look like a cave and some old like Indiana Jones movie set props down there. The masks have small animatronic parts to them for the Medusa look ing monsters. 10/10 Another Movie set looking maze. This one has a very high ceiling making it look like you are actually walking through some old streets of London. This one also has sound effects with scares like they do at Universal Studios at one part. 10/10 OH MY SATAN! This haunt attraction is up there with Universal Studios! It has special effects, it has set designs that I have never seen before and it looks like they built a huge mansion just for this one attraction. They have stairs and rooms and studies and props out of a movie. For appearance this one wins with a 10+/10 Best Maze of the night goes to this one. Scare after scare after scare. There was one part where 3 people jumped out at once from absolutely no where and scared the crap out of all 5 of people in my group. I went with my co workers and they all agreed this one was the best. Although not the best set designs but still impressive with a fake subway station and shopping mall this one is the scariest maze there.
WonderlandFan
Went to haunt last night and the mazes were really good. Â Ranked Mazes. Â 1. Cornstalkers (10/10) 2. Blood Shed (9/10) 3. Streets of the Undead (7/10) 4. The Ruins (7/10) 5. Sci-Fi House (6/10) 6. The Asylum (6/10) 7. Louisiana Scream (6/10) 8. Spirit Manor (5/10) 9. Terror of London (4/10) 10. Club Blood (2/10) Â Cornstalkers- This has to be the cream of the crop of mazes at wonderland. It is by far the most immersive one there with full of scares. As we entering the maze someone scared got us really well. It was full of scares throughout the maze. By far the most immersive maze there with the most screams. Â Blood Shed- The scariest maze of them all. Really well done, felt like I was in barn. Really well done, there were scares throughout the maze. A 180 degree turn around from last years Blood She. Â Streets of the Undead- Same layout, works really well though. I felt like I was walking around town looking for safety and supplies for the apocaplypes. Really well done, great scare by the subway and lots of surprises. Â The Ruins- Very immersive until the end with the lava floor which ruined it. Not a lot of scares, very cool maze though. Very well done, complete and to the point. Â Sci-Fi House- Lackluster due to same layout, not a lot of scares and was a let down. Was one of my favourites last year and was very dissapointed this year. Â The Asylum- Felt very incomplete and short. It really only had one section that made up for the rest of it. Wonderland dropped the ball with this one this year. As I was entering the maze you can see behind the scenes, ruined the whole maze experience. Â Lousinia Scream- By far the biggest let down for me. It was poorly done, felt unfinished and un immersive. No scares in it, boring and short. Not living up to expectations. I hope it's gone next year. Â Spirit Manor- It was really good looking and somewhat immersive. What ruined it for me was the lack of scares, the actors would just look at us and not do anything. They were'nt scary at all. The most they would do is ask us a question like "What are you doing here?" and a lot of them told us to get out, it got repetitive. The best part was the grand stair case at the beginning. Â Terror of London- Boring and dull. No scares, the only upside was that it was eye appealing. Â Club Blood- Wow, what a failure. Boring, not well done, short, no scares, not immersive. It was really bad, there was only like 2 sections of the maze that had to do with a club and they were both bad. Â Over all I think Corn Stalkers, Blood Shed, and The Ruins, can stay the way they are. Sic-Fi House, Streets, and The Asylum could use a revamp to return them to their former glory. Spirit Manor should get a bit more characters and work on their scare game. Loisiana Scream, Terror of London, and Club Blood should take a bow and retire from haunt. coasterbill
So the Thunder Run VR add on is optional I assume? If so, I'm all for it.

PCW_Nut
^^I am going to assume it will be optional should this be implemented full time. Â ^Not sure but my guess is nothing major and all just routine work. I would say a small chance its prep for 2017 but highly unlikely.
PATTYCAKES
Seems like I was right. Same old, same old. I'm going with my big brother on October 16th to avoid the crowds like last year. Interesting no one mentioned the horrible Toxicity. That, and Skeleton Crew, MUST GO next year! They should have been axed years ago, just horrible, Toxicity has nothing to do with Halloween and I truly have memorized the entire Skeleton Crew show, because it has been the exact same for 5 years now. anonymouscactus
I thought toxicity was good! Not very Halloween-y per say but they did a good job with it
Dom497
There is a video on youtube showing a behind the scenes tour of WMG. I'm not going to include the link since it's probably breaking some policy on this site. Just search "Wonder Mountains Guardian" and sort by upload date. You'll find it. Â Skeleton Crew must be doing something right as it has been ported to other Cedar Far parks. The only part of the show that has remained the same over the years is the Skeleton trampoline section at the end. Pretty much every year the acts prior to that have changed. For something that is designed to grab people's attention, pull some crowds out of the midway and do some entertaining, I feel that both Skeleton Crew and Toxicity (while not for everyone I agree) are doing a great job. PATTYCAKES
Skeleton Crew was alright, the first time I saw it, 5 years ago, but it's time to change it. Even the CNE had a trampoline scene in this year's ice show doing exactly the same moves that I have now memorized from Skeleton Crew and the daytime 'pirate' show. In and out, in and out, and repeat. Again, been there, done that. As for Toxicity, that too must go. I have seen it every year for the past 5 years and I will not be seeing it this year. The 1/2 hour sleep I get is nice but such a waste of time. It has nothing to do with Halloween and is just a different name when Haunt is on versus the regular day show. People complained that the ice show stayed too long, it's really time for a change. How about, say, a show with something to do with a Halloween theme, say, like they use to have before they went with the magic/acrobatics idea. PCW_Nut
Random question but, whatever happened to the Oktoberfest Wonderland was supposed to have? The event page for it is blank and I never heard anything about it.  https://www.canadaswonderland.com/rides/Events-and-Promotions/Oktoberfest  I went on today to check the dates to see if I had missed it or something but ended up with no information at all. PATTYCAKES
Congratulations on 950 posts, nut. Yeah, an apology, or even acknowledgement that it was cancelled, or was never even planned, would have been nice. Unfortunately, Wonderland seems to have gotten into promoting ideas before they are actually confirmed, example, the food trucks, describing a dark ride before it was even designed, and even announcing 'a very large project' that now may never happen. I really hope they stop doing that. It creates a lot of dissapointment.

I agree I'm done with Wonderlands false promises.I wanted to attend both the food truck festival and Oktoberfest as they were promised around the time of buying a season pass. It's very poor ownership for a company to cancel an event then bring it back last minute and then kind of delete Oktoberfest with no mention of it.  Now the big addition announcement they did clearly state they couldn't give a timeline into it and it's only been two years. They described land prep which we saw so I'd say just be patient with that.
williamj2543
I went here last weekend, the park was EMPTY! Walk on on behemoth, we stayed on Wild Beast and Mine buster (stayed in our seats, didn't even need to get up and change seats). These october weekends are the tiem to go. Weather is also great, not too hot not THAT cold (although bring a sweater)

Hell yea, these rides are in my top 6 in CW. After Flight Deck, Vortex, And Leviathan.
