Vffreak07
Looks like they COULD finish tonight. . . Or they could finish the drop/loop because all of the supports (or nearly all of the supports) for the loop done.
Golfie
More of Spongebob's background has been put up. I wonder why they're leaving gaps in between the panels. You know I was thinking they are doing gap thing on purpose. Looks kinda cool to me. It looks like the wall behind the coaster is curved a bit - this is probably to prevent any warping of the panels if they were all one piece. I totally agre with you, haide - it looks pretty cool. TheRapidsNerd
Half the loop is up and it looks like they're working on the drop, just out of frame. And back in frame.
pierced_b0i
I caught them putting a track piece up. Caught in the act.
TheRapidsNerd
Uh-oh, webcam's down again. And just when it was getting to the good part...(last track piece on the top of the loop). EDIT: At 5:40 am central US time, the last section of track was installed. And there was much rejoicing.
niiicolaaah
That ride looks pretty fun, can't wait to ride it!
bdstrom
Looks FANTASTIC!!! Since my family is from Minnesota, I am going to book a flight sometime in June just to ride Spongebob! By the way, how will they get that yellow crane out of there?
ScubaSteve442
^^Sort of. The rail isn't joined yet in the 5:40 shot. It's 6:21 and they are still tightening bolts on that final connection. It looks like the last connection was off an inch or so, (you can see the ends aren't flush) and they had to convince everything to line up enough that they could bolt it together. I think they had to use a come-along to pull them into alignment or something. The crane was outside the footprint for part of the loop. They'll drive it back out under the first drop. kraken613
Track done! I cant wait till testing starts!
ScubaSteve442
Every piece tonight was done in about 15-20 minutes. This last one is well over 90 minutes, and they are still working on that final connection!
Vffreak07
If you look close enough, the taller construction worker closest to the cam just saved 15% on his car insurance by switching to Geico.
ScubaSteve442
They are disconnecting the crane's hoist from the track finally! IT IS DONE! Well, almost. Anyone seen the trains laying around? And where is Avatar's surfboard, anyway?
sam06pr
Wow. they were pretty quick to install the rides. I thought it would take longer with Spongebob Rock Bottom Plunge, especially since it is indoor
COASTER FREAK 11
This ride came out great! Now I have to plan a trip there now.
Loco
They moved the camera a bit. The ride looks huge compared to the construction workers.
uwgbdork
So who thinks that they should throw some simulated beach underneath this? Glad to see the Track done! Can't wait to get out there to ride it. I am looking forward to trying out the eurofighter style. They have always intrigued me!
Acero
Do any other Eurofighter models curve on the first drop like that? I've only ever seen two (Speed, Typhoon), and their drops don't.
kraken613
I think that loop is going to have hang time. I was hoping for a short compact intense fast loop! Im sure it will still be awsome!
PURE
So who thinks that they should throw some simulated beach underneath this? *Raises hand* This is the first Eurofighter I've seen where I'm actually impressed and wanna go ride it. Maybe because its indoors or not, I don't know. But the layout looks awesome!
kraken613
Mystery mines dosnt curve at the pull-out but duing the actual verticle part it does. Its pull ot is strait. I wish they had a drop like Mystery Mines outside drop that thing has some ejector!
TheRapidsNerd
Hey, really glad they finished up before I went to work this morning. If you look close enough, the taller construction worker closest to the cam just saved 15% on his car insurance by switching to Geico. Brilliant! uwgbdork wrote: So who thinks that they should throw some simulated beach underneath this? *Raises hand* Two words. Big Pineapple. ^^Sort of. The rail isn't joined yet in the 5:40 shot. I think they had to use a come-along to pull them into alignment or something. Well, if ya gotta split hairs, I was going by the NASA assembly rules, i.e. the time two objects touch and have at least one connection, then that's the official time of installation. All the other bolt tightening is post facto, but whatever. Have it your way. It's done, I'm happy. Next.
