Sticky Nicky Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 All the major rides will be done. The kiddie bumbercars and the new airplane ride still have to be installed.
LiquidForce Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I liked the foresty theme the park had when it was Knotts Camp Snoopy a lot better. --Jay Yeah I did too. I'm going to miss the Paul Bunyan themed log flume ride a lot...I grew up riding that thing Anyways I also think its time for change. You can't get much better than a Nickelodeon themed park popularity wise. It seems like the park draws more kids and young teens than anyone else. I think the MOA did the right thing. ps Thanks for all the comments on the pictures...I appreciate it!
Sticky Nicky Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 One of TT's colors will be blue as seen in the pic below. I think they could have left it the colors that is was. Old Colors-in the center back Blue somehow = Jimmy Nuetron
Vffreak07 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I like it. . . I think it looks like. . . Mechanical or something cool.
Sticky Nicky Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 It looks alright, but now everything but Splat-O-Sphere that is sticking straight up is blue(Avatar, TT, Mighty Axe)
BeemerBoy Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 From all the before/after shots I've seen recently, I've come to one conclusion.....losing a lot of the "woodsy" look to the place = fail.
CP_RULES Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 From all the before/after shots I've seen recently, I've come to one conclusion.....losing a lot of the "woodsy" look to the place = fail. I completely agree, looks like they are turning the place sterile.

I know, can you believe that Cedar Fair ran this park at one point, and there were more trees than there are at Valleyfair.
steel Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I agree. Last time I said that I got attacked for complaining. It's not like the park itself won't be good, it's just that nothing looks right anymore.
Golfie Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Quit being a bunch of downers. I think partially the reason why you guys aren't happy with the way it looks is because... 1. It's winter. During winter, the lighting from outside (as well as the sky) is GRAY. GRAY skies make everything look uglier. 2. Those webcams suck. Remember that the angle you'll be seeing the park from will be totally different from those webcams. Just don't go judging everything before you have a clear picture.
Sticky Nicky Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I have been there 2 times alone this month, I now how many trees there are and how it looks. It may look like there aren't a lot of trees, but most haven't been removed. The center of the park wasn't a forest, it was an overly huge and out-of-place looking fountain. The park made the center better by adding 2 new rides.

Most of those shots were taken in full sunlight, which is rare. I've been to MOA a dozen times in the past three years and never been there when it's sunny. Your gloomy argument doesn't hold water here. I said the same thing back when I did my PTR in November. It's completely lost it's northwoods charm. The rides may be better, but the character is gone.
Drop-Out Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Well, Nickelodeon isn't a forest network. It's colorful and wannabe edgy. The forest look was beautiful, but Nickelodeon is here to stay for at least 9 years.
WFChris Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Are they completely removing the log ride, or re-theming it? I personally loved the ride the one opportunity I got to go on it... One of the best memories of it...is when you depart the station, you go through paul bunyan theming, blah blah blah, lifthill...DIRECTLY toward the Hooters neon sign!!! Then you slowly float past the Hooters deck. Owls are sort of forest theming, right? Chris.
Yankee cannonball Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 ^ LOL, I will never question a euro fighter, but when I imagined the spongebob coaster, I didn't quite expect a 98 degree drop, a loop, and a heartline
Drop-Out Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I would think Cedar Fair did, since they used to own it. No one designed the park as Nickelodeon Universe, they just went with the punches.
Golfie Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Well, I think the park still looks great. Last time I was there was in June during which, I know, none of the new renovations have been made, but I think the park has only improved over the past few months. (Except for the tree swing. MOA butchered that thing with the new paint job)
cycamps Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I'm fairly excited to ride Avatar, as I haven't ridden a halfpipe ride before.
coasterdude5 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I thought they were keeping the log flume.
steel Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Who designed this park? -Jake It was created by Knott's Berry Farm as the centerpiece of the brand new Mall of America in 1992, I believe.
Sticky Nicky Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Knott's built and designed it. Cedar Fair took control of it when they bought Knott's in 1997.
astroworldfan1 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Im going to miss the Snoopy theming in the mall. I really wanted to go. But, I do love Nick shows and I can't wait to ride Avatar and Sponge Bob! The new coaster looks aswome! I thought the theming was some of the coolest of the parks i've been to. -Tatum
WFChris Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 The Log Flume is still on the MOA website, but then again, everything is all Camp Snoopy related still. Please let us know if it is staying!!!
LiquidForce Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 yeah i heard they are keeping it...rumors are its going to be green slime themed. i have no idea how they'll do that but whatever i guess lol.
