I used to think it meant "Extra Ride Time," heh heh.

Which actually it is, lol.

To answare the opening question: ERT is a special period of time when the park is closed to the general public (before opening or after closing time) and some cool people are let in the park to ride one ore more coasters without the general public around.

I'll do my first ERT on the midwest trip in 51 days!!!

I add a question: what is a morning walkback?

I've been to 2 Paramount's Great America events (One for Stealth's opening & Demons anniversary, and one for Psycho Mouse's opening).

Stealth was closed on its own "soft opening" ERT day, but Demon had ERT for its 30th anniversary.

Psycho Mouse's "soft opening" day featured ERT on both Stealth and Psycho Mouse. I rode them each just under a dozen times in a row. Then we went to the banquet, and afterwards, Drop Zone was jsut opening up. Because there was no one in the back of the park yet, I rode it several times, with the ride totally to myself.

It was AWSOME .

I always thought it meant "Enjoy Robb's Tostadas"...why else would people get up at 6am to go to a park?

ERT doesn't need to be after hours. On the UK trip, BPB closed off both Big Dipper and Grand National during regular park hours.

Which is why, more often than not, it's best to call it Exclusive Ride Time, heh heh.

The E stands for erly at Alton Towers doesn't it? When talking about annual pass holders and hotel guests privilidge to ride Air and Nemesis half an hour before the park opens.

So, what's the s in ERS? I've always wondered that.
