ParkTrips
I've been dying to get up to Dollywood for a while, and last night it was decided that today would be the day. I was going to meet a friend of mine for a day at the park, and we both had a great time. The main draw for both of us was of course the brand-new Mystery Mine, and since it was Andrew's first time, Thunderhead was also big for him. How did our day go? Read on.. I leave you with this. If you are ever in Cartersville GA, you should stop here. I mean c'mon, lunch, Coke, AND a 4-way. Heaven on earth as they say.. thanks for reading. Kiddie credits make me a happy camper. Really, it was a pretty awesome day!!! Fun, really, it is! We got 3 cycles and by 3 cycles I mean about 12 laps in total A credit!!! It wasn't on rcdb or I would have stopped years ago, lol. A miner mike with a powered lift, but gravity the rest of the way.. credit? I think so. I rode for $2+tax On the way up, I saw this in Knoxville from the highway. Why did I stop there? Well because I've been to one before and it had... I also thoroughly enjoy this sign. This is near the end of the Parkway, after battling heavy traffic for 15 miles, it FINALLY tells me there may be congestion. They really are bright in Tennessee This made up for it though. I apologize to the person who was behind me when I slammed on my brakes once I saw this. "Sexy Stuf" with a Confederate Flag. I love the south. Mystery Mine was my 3rd new credit of the year. I was hoping this would be my 4th but it was closed =( I hear Jahan has relatives there. Correct me if I'm wrong dude! ah time to go home. I split ways with Andrew who was going back "home" to Clemson and once again walked, even though there were like 3 shuttles ready to haul me haha, Dollywood, now home to Millennium Force here we are headed out the park. I love how they make you walk through the gift shop, its marketing genius! Same with the arcade at Tornado While in line, we enjoyed the orgasm-in-a-bag that I picked up on the way back over. Amazing. the bird was sleeping, awww We both had to leave kinda early, so we went back and rode Mystery Mine again Here is another icon of the park, the magnificent train Just an ok flume ride. Nothing special stupid bear, stealing the meat. Colbert was right. Bears need to die. And now presenting "things you don't see everyday"... a black employee at Dollywood! five minutes for Daredevil Falls is worth it though Here is the wait for the Disko. I like it and Andrew had never been on, buuuuut at 45 mins its not worth it Now back to the food since you aren't hungry anymore, more for me. Literally. I ordered 1 sausage but as you see I got 2. The guy said "well this one broke so its yours for free". WOW. At Six Flags, they would have sold the 2 halfs for full price. I love actually NOW its a Dollywood TR, complete with gigavag on a scooter (ok so I cheated, the crowd today was almost healthy for Americans!!) Its been way too long into this TR without a food shot. NOW its a Dollywood TR. .. a LOT better Then of course we rode Blazing Fury, and yes that says 30 mins... I think we only waited 15-20 though. I like the ride, but the water effects seemed to be working better than I had remembered... Next we went to the back and rode Tornado. It was the best ride I've ever gotten on it, practically no banging around at all. Its still very short though Here is Andrew. HAHA now TPR has seen you. He liked the ride a lot, and I have to agree that it was really cool, the theming was great and the ride itself was better than I expected. Ladies, here is my crotch, presented by Gerstlauer The single rider line was really stupid. I didnt see anyone use it. That was really fun. The barrel roll is on an upwards slant which is odd and you are hung upside down for quite a while, its really a neat element This attraction is half TPR-approved I believe I've seen this angle before, but in case you haven't, here it is! ok once Andrew arrived we went and rode Mystery Mine. Yes that is the line out the queue but it was only about 30 minutes or so, even with a couple pauses I love Dollywood. Where else can I get a enormous sweet roll for $3 and eat it with a Chinese person? I didn't eat breakfast because I knew I was going to Dollywood. Had I decided a little earlier when I was going, I wouldn't have eaten the past 4 days. haha, beaver waited 2 trains for the front row, of course. They were running Thunderhead very well, as quick as that ride is its impressive to see it never stack Thunderhead crowd. So what do you think I did? Mystery Mine crowd I would say that's quite a change... and ew, that photo didn't come out well Since I didnt get lost on the way, I had a little bit of free time to start the morning. Hm Thunderhead Gap sure has changed... Festival of Nations? BOOO diversity. The good thing is that when I was getting my pass processed, a guy in line gave me a coupon so I could get Andrew in for free.. sweet!! man it sucks to get there early and not have to wait forever for a tram or have to walk that far (I needed the exercise, I walked) For those of you too lazy to read the first paragraph, here is where I was headed hooray for more addition!! thats odd, the Parkway never has bad traffic YES!!! Apparently Knoxville really likes math, bonus points from me! ah the good ol paper mill corridor. No accidents today!
haiderodes
You had me dying with the "and now presenting things you dont see everyday". I've yet to visit Dollywood, but from the PTRs I see on here, there doesnt seem to many black visitors let alone workers.
jarmor
Hey I go there almost every other week and im black...but it does feel good to have everyone reconize you!
Meteornotes
Joe once again proves his extreme awesomeness with this PTR. That was a quality read. Although we didn't get to see the interior of "Sexy Stuf", so a point is deducted from the score. dt
Swimace
Dollywood was really great park! I think it's funny how when we went to SFOG we got bored after about 4 hours but Dollywood has less than half the coasters of SFOG and I felt bummed that I had to leave after 5. Mystery Mine was incredible! I thought it was a really different experience from any other coaster I've been on, even ROTM which I've heard people compare it to. The tight turns and quick drops made it really thrilling but it was still small enough to please the family crowd. Thunderhead was great too, but that was to be expected... arrowfanman
I hear Jahan has relatives there. Correct me if I'm wrong dude! I actually DO have relatives out there! Great PTR Joe! I agree with Dave--shame there was no interior of "Sexy Stuf". It would have made this PTR an educational expirence for me. -Jahan
WildMouse
I've yet to visit Dollywood, but from the PTRs I see on here, there doesnt seem to many black visitors let alone workers. Kind of represents Tennessee as a whole wouldnt you say? I'd imagine that the shoe would be on the other foot if you went to a theme park in Atlanta. Anyway, good PTR, and I look forward to being one of those rare black visitors when I head out to Dollywood in a couple of years time

ParkTrips
sorry no more 'sexy stuf', there were signs on the building saying no photography, and quite honestly, I didn't want to mess with a redneck porn shop owner.. The bag had the cinnamon bread from the Grist Mill, located in the middle of the park on the way back towards Tennessee Tornado. Its spectacular!! Shavethewhales
The bag had the cinnamon bread from the Grist Mill, located in the middle of the park on the way back towards Tennessee Tornado. Its spectacular!! Ah, so they have that at DW too I see. Yeah, I make sure I pick some of that stuff before doing anything else at SDC; there's usually a good wait out the bakery door for it. Have you used the fast-queue system they have there? How much does it cost, and how well does it work?
