PKI Jizzman
Taking up the employee lot... booo It will be quite an event though!.. I know a few people that are going down just to watch. We were told to come 30-45 minutes earlier than usual because the parking is probably...a mile away from usual? I think I saw them opening up the grass area. -sigh-

scruffy
They will have trams though! When is the last time the trams ran? Talk about really turning back the clock. I just hope I get a parking spot I have to work till 4pm.

pyrocoasterkid
SheiKra under construction: (credt goes to John Wiencek) KI's new construction: (credit goes to Dane Thomas, kicentral.com) I think they look almost exactly the same, excluding the size. Obviously, SheiKra's is much wider having to fit dive track in there. But it seems slightly deceiving in the pix... this construction at KI could easily fit regular B&M track in there. Obviously, SheiKra's is much wider having to fit dive track in there. But it seems slightly deceiving in the pix... this construction at KI could easily fit regular B&M track in there. But if you look at the wall on SheiKra, it is at least 6 ft tall (look at the workers standing next to it), while the wall on the new KI ride can only be about 3ft tall max. That's why I was saying I'm not sure if it will be a true splashdown, or just a run down the middle of the pond. I just don't think the wall between the pond and the track is high enough for a splashdown.
coasterfreak101
Just to throw it out there, B&M filed the water brake patents using a hyper train in their diagrams. Credit: Gazza @ CoasterForce
Bolliger&Mabillard
If indeed this is a hyper, one question I have is, "Will this ride feature the original hyper trains, or the tiered seating like Behemoth?"
pyrocoasterkid
Skramp, since the Dive Machine track is all around much larger, I can only imagine, that the trough needed for such track would be larger. I can't see why hyper track wouldn't fit perfectly in there. And who said the lake had to be overly deep to get the scoops throwing the water around? Also, it appears as though there is footings in the trough just like SheiKra, again slightly smaller.. but still. What else could this be? I see no other explanation, unless it's something we haven't seen before.
slither37
Any word on when this will be officially announced? I was thinking the Robby Kneivel jump would be a good time for an announcement.
FeelTheFORCE
^ I'd say not until late in the season or after the season is over.
Scaparri
Given the apparent magnitude of this ride, and past history, I wouldn't be surprised if it's announced as early as June or July.
FeelTheFORCE
Yeah, I guess it will ultimately depend on how fast this goes up. A coaster this big can't be kept under wraps too long if people see a lift hill and such, lol.
Immelman
Kings Island needs a good coaster very badly...haven't been there since I was six and I always skip it largely due to the coaster collection. I hope its a hyper coaster, after riding Sheikra I'm not a huge fan of dive machines.

Reon
Definately a water brake, but for some reason I keep imagining a helix coming out of it. As for the other side, I can't wait to see some footers come up over there!
scruffy
I went to Kings Island today, but I forgot my camera at home. The park was very crowded and had a 1970's area set up for the weekend. Here is a picture from my cell phone. You can really see how far back the new coaster will go.
PKI Jizzman
Here's some photos from the Knieval stunt. And the crowd loves Robbie. Later in the news it stated he had some back problems. He made it! It looks like.... He's up, is he going to make it? Coke Zero trucks....on FIRE! He's off and headed for the trucks! Ever seen BOTH decks open before? Neither have I. The crowds are here! Characters from the old KI era were there today. I saw some Hanna Barbara benches around there. The Hustler? The event set up Lines are forming already! News has spread about KI's new coaster
jamesdillaman
Glad that's done. I drive around mason for my job, and I made sure to request that night off Good that he made it, but it would have been better if he jumped every trash can from cedar point! Nah... wouldn't have made that jump. -James Dillaman
PKI Jizzman
I'll be going to the park tomorrow around 1:15 to 6 or 7, I'll be sure to take some pics! On a side note, Son of Beast's onride photo as been moved from before the lift hill to where the loop was taken out. Finally! -J "Who puts a camera before the lift?!"
