imawesome1124 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Really hoping the Caps can find a way to finish off the Rangers. With the Penguins already out and the Flyers knocking on death's door, I could rest easy with the Caps, Devils, Kings, and Coyotes fighting it out for the Cup. Barry Melrose picked the Caps to go the the Stanley Cup Final. That means we will lose this series. Seriously, just about every team he picked in the first round lost, he's a jinx! In all honesty I don't believe that, but this series is impossible to call right now. If we win tonight it will give us a MUCH greater chance to win the series.
BeemerBoy Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 If we win tonight it will give us a MUCH greater chance to win the series. So you're saying if you're up 3-2 in the series, it's better than being down 2-3?
Sir Clinksalot Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I got into hockey in 1993 (when the Kings started practicing @ Iceoplex, and you could meet and mingle with the players after practice with no problem!)....hoping this run can surpass 1993! Pretty much the same for me Joey. I think I got into a couple of years before that, but 1993 was the big year. Hoping we can take that last step this year!!!
Jew Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 The Caps sure did put themselves at a disadvantage tonight...
Skycoastin Steve Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 ^That was the most horrifying end to a game I've ever seen. But as Yogi Berra used to say, it ain't over till it's over!
beatle11 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 ^Amazing how a player can go from hero to goat in less than 2 minutes.
coasterbill Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 What an amazing hockey game last night. This is a great series.
coasterfreak101 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Seven seconds left too...amazing. We're back home tomorrow night so hopefully that will help! Here's to hoping we see Madison Square one more time.
imawesome1124 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 No matter what happens this series, I will be happy that we did better than the Penguins. Not to mention we've done better than just about everybody thought we would. For a team that barely made the playoffs to beat the reigning Cup champions in the closest series in history and put up a decent fight against the #1 seed in the east is pretty good.
Top Thrill Dragster Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Flyers are done and Richards/Carter are still playing hockey. Good job Holmgren! Thanks for Richards and Carter!
DiSab Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 ^Well, technically, you got Carter from us, but it is what it is. Just glad I never have to watch Carter give less of a f*** while playing in a Jackets uniform again. He's turrible.
Jew Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 ^Now you're stuck watching Jack Johnson turn it over in his own zone instead.
coasterfreak101 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Capitals win 2-1! Headed back to MSG for Game 7!
Meteornotes Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 These Caps playoff games have certainly been not dull... dt
imawesome1124 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 If the Caps can beat the Rangers at MSG they can beat anybody. Everybody congratulate Holtby. He became a dad today.
Skycoastin Steve Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 These Caps playoff games have certainly been not dull... dt It's certainly been a fun 13 games to watch. I'm just hoping there are at least four more after #14!
Jew Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 ^Guess not. Still was a good game. Caps had lots of opportunities in the 2nd period.
Skycoastin Steve Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 ^Guess not. Still was a good game. Caps had lots of opportunities in the 2nd period. Yeah, winning two game 7's on the road in one playoffs isn't easy. I'm happy with the run they had, though, especially considering they almost missed the playoffs altogether. After tonight, I'm officially on the Kings bandwagon.
Sir Clinksalot Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 King's take game 1 in Phoenix yesterday. Quick didn't have his best game and the defense made a couple of mistakes but it still was enough.
Jew Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 48 shots on goals will still usually get you the win unless the goalie plays lights out! Good to see the Kings being so aggressive.
Top Thrill Dragster Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 http://www.nbclosangeles.com/video/#!/on-air/as-seen-on/Playoff-Payoff/151483405 Notice anything wrong with this photo.
AllenA07 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 ^I post often on a Kings fan site and can tell you that NBC isn't the first network to use the wrong Kings logo. It's a running joke there because Jim Hill (believe he is still on CBS, I live in Dallas now so I'm not privy on LA news as much) has repeatedly used the logo for the Sacramento Kings during his broadcasts.
