jackskellington101
The dates for the WDW Haunted Mansion Refurbishment are out: June 6th to September 12th. That’s the entire summer and, most likely, butting up to the first MNSSHP of the year. That's a lot of time. I know the rumors state that it's getting caught up to the advances of the CA Mansion, with Leota floating around the room all willy-nilly and brides armed with hatchets and things like that. However, those are all just silly rumors. What do you think they're going to do with all that time? Stuart P.S. I call AQUATRAX.
jedimaster1227
My only hopes for the attraction is that Leota's face projection is fixed, the turning on the Doombuggies is fixed and the stairway with the spiderwebs has some kind of addition to make that portion somewhat more interesting. RRollergod
Holy crap thats a long down time... I am sad and happy at the same time. Happy because the turning doombuddies annoy me and leota's face never looks right. Sad because if the rumors are true this will not be a family friendly ride anymore and will ruin its history. On another note what are you going to do while the ride is down stewie? P.s. I will stop by to say "Hi" again in April. It was funny when I went to look for you last time it was like the girls night at the ride, there were no guys in sight near the ride working. jackskellington101
Unfortunately, at this time I am not actually at the big spooky house. One of the things about the college program is that, eventually, you have to go back to school. That is where I am right now. I'm going to try to be back when I can, but it's difficult. April will most likely be a that I'm not there, seeing I'll be having papers and stuff due then. Sorry.
socalMAN123
Yeah, when I went on HM this past summer, I realized it was no where near as good as the one we have here in Socal. Hoefully this refurb will fix all those little problems I noticed. Ryan King
Im glad. When I rode it, Jahan and I were keeping count on which park was better, DLR or WDW. And the Mansion didnt help to boost WDW Score. I just wasnt feelin it there as much as I do in DLR. The outside is pretty cool lookin, but I found it to be kinda dull. Meh, just me -Ryan
cfc
The sound system needs an upgrade--desperately.
jackskellington101
I will admit as much as anyone, it needs the TLC badly. I'm glad to see it's finally getting it.
jackskellington101
The sound system needs an upgrade--desperately. From what I know, which is about jack squat, that's a definite. The only two constants I've heard with this is digital audio and projection. Both are warmly welcomed.
Schmoofy
Sound upgrade, that's a must. They need better air-conditioning, since it tends to get really warm in the graveyard (not good for the audio-animatronics). I've heard some rumour that they are going to do something different with the "spider web hallway".
mmousefan
OMG I will have to wait until september to ride it Why they couldnt wait to close ir after june 12??? Well I hope that the wait will be worth. My hope is that WDW mansion is getting the Nightmare touch for this year We can always hope. Jew
Good. It looked like they gave it a Six Flags maintenance budget.

They're either adding something to it or being really lazy (like usual.)
What Now
It REALLY need some TLC, but why during the entire summer?
jackskellington101
Well, it was a choice between the summer or fall/Halloween. They had to pick the lesser of two evils and frankly the Mansion makes its attendance numbers more often during the fall than the summer. It doesn't take three months to fix the audio and a few projections, I can tell you that much. They're either adding something to it or being really lazy (like usual.) I think it's going to be more than just Leota and the Bride. However, those two they are very complex and I can see them taking a long time for to fine tune. There is also time used in the deconstruction too, like taking out the old audio system and projection systems. I'm also taking a stab here that the queue will be changed as well to fit the outdoor space better. That would take some time too.

jackskellington101
^You have no idea how many times I was asked if he was in there and, shockingly, how many people were actually disappointed when I told them he wasn't.
BarryH
I rode the Haunted Mansion during the Pirates and Princesses Party and it looked pretty bad! I don't remember seeing Leota's head on at all. The graveyard dude didn't move at all. The Haunted Mansion needs some TLC. A lot of Tomorrowland needed some TLC too.
Adam_C
Maybe they'll juice it up to Phantom Manor style? ie add a few bits, remove some others... ya never know. Phantom Manor's soundtrack would be wonderful.
Nrthwnd
^ Agreed. Phantom Manor's soundtrack is wonderful to listen to, even separate from the attraction itself! (see how I even collect the CDs?) Separate random question to all - when did they start doing the "Nightmare Before Christmas" overlay at Tokyo Disney's HM? I thought it was 2004, but maybe 2005? Just checking.
