Wes
^ Well, we can't do anything we want. The only people who can do that are Robb and Elissa. We are here to help them keep the boards in shape, and we try to do that the best we can. Some days it's pretty easy, other days (like today) it's annoying. CK, this may further reinforce your view that "we don't respect opinions", but whatever. Honestly, you are giving opinions on something you don't have much insight into. Things are set up a certain way here. For every locked topic you see, you aren't seeing the six we deleted, or the multiple spam accounts we delete, or the topics we've merged, or editing of people's posts. There was an issue today, it has been addressed. I don't see the point of arguing with me (or any of the mods) over it. This is my personal opinion, but your posts are coming across as very rude. robbalvey
^ I agree Wes, and his attitude, along with his pointless posts has made him the first person to be fed to BanTron under this rule! --Robb "Just not going to put up with people arguing over stupid shit." allisonLOVEsTPR
Robb! and who ever else helped with this, the spellcheck right on the post box is great!!! I will make sure to always use it , I shouldn't be so excited about this....but thanks a bunch !! now hopefully I don't fall victim to the "BanTron"? and to dearest CK- I was like you once, and thought "oh how mean of them to pick on me" but really its for the better, when they edit, delete, and/or lock posts it is not to pick on you or disrespect you, its to maintain the credibility of you and this site, so instead of pointing fingers and such you should thank the mods for putting hours into this site to make it enjoyable for you and everyone else that visits themeparkreview. thanks again Robb and mods for this new button that saves me hours of "wow your dumb" comments!! -Allison

Schmoofy
I understand where you're coming from completely, Robb. Thanks for the post, because I've seen some really annoying posts lately, not to say that mine couldn't have been the problem at one point. You stated about searching for a thread, instead of making a new thread. This is a huge problem on another forum I am a member of, and since it's packed with children and teens, nothing can really be done. Kids want answers fast, not having to run a search and actually find something for themselves, which amounts to the pointless threads that could have been found by searching. I'll admit, I started a thread (yesterday I think) asking for good video editing programs. Since I'm new an average poster here, more of a lurker, I didn't think to search. I feel like such a newbie now. I wonder if there's a way, when starting a thread, to have a pop-up window come up asking "Did you search to see if this topic already exists?"? Who knows, I'm not familiar with this kind of forum, VB are my specialty. ~Bret "still considered a kid" Taggart
Eric_Smith
This story kind of has some connection. My mom is a member on the "blackberry" forums and a person got banned because he cussed out a mod. He made a new account and replayed to another post and the mod had his IP address and said Hi______, you are banned again. She said that everyone was just hystaical. robbalvey
I'm bumping this yet again because the amount of posts I've had to edit or delete from the younger members has been insane these past couple of weeks. Basically, if you're not going to be bothered to read our posting rules, and you make crap posts, or tell us how we should be moderating the forum, you're going to be banned, no questions asked. Seriously. We NEED to keep up a high quality of posts here otherwise the forum just degrades into total garbage. If I see a garbage post, I'm going to delete it and give the user a 24 hour ban (aka a warning). If I see it again, you're gone. --Robb "Sorry, but I gotta turn the screws otherwise the forum quality will go to crap." Alvey
AlmereStars
I think it's a good thing to warn someone, and then just ban him/here... this forum has a lot of members, and if most of them post something stupid or against the rules this forum would go down fast... but I think the mods are doing a great job, cause most "big" forums I know went down real fast
Goliath513
The least you can do is use the spell check. I use it every time I post and, it helps out an grammar troubled person like myself.
Disney Dood
I've also seen alot of stuff like porn, car ads, medicine ads, other random crap, being posted here. Why do I never see that at other sites I go to?

Why do I never see that at other sites I go to? Because TPR is a popular forum, thus it's more of a target for spammers than other places.
christianscoasters
--Robb "Sorry, but I gotta turn the screws otherwise the forum quality will go to crap." Alvey If this forum turned to crap, the world would be at a standstill . Anyway, I know that I contribute to the problem. I'm trying not to do the things you ask us not to. Hell, I searched for nearly an hour for SFMM tips! I've read this thread like 10 times already. But everytime helps.

Why do I never see that at other sites I go to? Other sites have better computer monkies who find way's to weed out that sort of stuff? Where as TPR seems to have more of a manual approach. Why do I never see that at other sites I go to? Most of those ads are gone within minutes of them being posted. And yes we DO have automatical systems in place, but the spammers are very good and they do get through them. For every one spam that gets through, we have about 100 that get stopped by the forum software. Other forums DO get them, but depending on forums you read, they might not get them as often because they may not get as much traffic. I probably delete about 20-30 spam accounts per week that get through the system. --Robb 'We're doing the best we can!" Alvey
alpengeist04
I think the mods here do a very good job with the spam, unfortunately you can't always be here 24/7, though they do a pretty good job with that too. We the members can always help too, by ignoring and reporting any spam. ...so let's all work together making the best coaster site on the internet even better. christianscoasters
The mods do a GREAT job on "spam banning". I hardly every notice spam on here ever. Random thought: Sometimes the title of a spam thread will say something like "New DVD's for only 10 cents each!" and that thread will only have like three views. But when it says "HOT FREE SEX!!!", there's nearly 100 lol!

Théo the little french
- Posts with bad grammar such as no words capitalized, using internet or text message shorthand, poor spelling, etc.--Robb Well, I'm learning english so... it's a bit normal I make grammar mistakes! But don't worry, since a few time ago, my english is getting more and more better! (I think... )
Louise
^ We always make allowances for those for whom English is not their first language. With maybe one exception, NONE of the mods or admins would be able to post on a board based on any language other than English, so we have a lot of respect for you guys. Generally speaking the non-English posters have better spelling and grammar than the others, especially as you guys try so hard, so don't worry, just keep going the way you are! robbalvey
I've had to ban or delete at least another 10 threads/posts/members today, all from ages 12 to 17. WTF!?! Do they not teach proper communication in schools anymore? I'm bumping this again because it needs to be read. And no, I don't want to make it a "sticky" I have far too much fun bumping it! --Robb "Everyone please read page one...especially if you're 12 to 17 years old!"
