kidcoaster Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 What is your favorite Holiday in the park? Mine is the one at Conneaut Lake Park. It always have good preformers, A nice Sliegh ride, and good food. It might get better next year because I am going to suggest a holiday themed train ride. Anyway whats yours?
YoshiFan Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Not counting WDW, Hersheypark's Christmas Candylane. It's nice to have the park open so late into the year even if no coasters are open.
socalMAN123 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Disneyland pwns all. Period. No questions. ---Brent
easytoremember Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I liked islands of adventures. Seuss land was very well done.
Sexy No Jutsu Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I can only say DL, but I'd love to See Holiday world during the major Holidays.
larrygator Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I think I will do something different to TPR. I have only been to one park for the Holidays and since I have nothing to compare it to, I am not going to mention any park as best for the Holidays.
Shavethewhales Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 SDC hands down. I agree. Yeah, the only park that can compare to SDC is DW. I don't know which is better however, as I've only been to SDC. Anyone been to both at christmas time? SDC puts on an amazing display at christmas either way.
FlyingScooter Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 We might hit CLP this year to check it out. If there's snow, it might be a nice photo op. I'd love to check out DollyWood's xmas thing. From all the pics i've seen, it looks totally stunning.
thefitness Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I agree with easytoremember,IOA at Christmas is awesome.Especially Seuss Landing.
jamesdillaman Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Dollywood, without a doubt. i like it better than Disney during Christmastime. -James Dillaman
KoasterKidz67 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 ^ I am right there with you. I would so badly like to see Holiday World do a Christmas celebration. After all they have a christmas section.
DallasAlvey Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Disneyland pwns all. Period. No questions.---Brent Undoutably no question about it. p.s. Yay my 100th post.
IceDragon Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 well, ive only done 2 holiday-themed events, both halloween, one at Chessington and the other at Thorpe Park. Chessington was a bit iffy, purely because of the weather (rain, rain, break, rainn rain and rain!) plus there wasnt much in the way of halloween, more Star Wars than anything, although they did try to get compressed smoke coming out of the fountains instead of water, which was quite scary. it really made me jump! on Rameses Revenge, they had a low-hanging fog machine at the top of the path, leading down to the station, where it would congruate on the loading ramps and sometimes on the ride itself. the Vampire also had smoke, but it was rarely used and wasnt as effective. we had Rameses Revenge singing 'Here we go! Here we go! Here we go!', which was awesome. overall, very family-friendly and a great day out!!! Thorpe Park goes for the more exteme halloween. special Fright-Nites music for pretty much everything, lights everywhere, scary actors, and even scarier mazes! We didnt get to do The Asylum due to extra long queues being placed out, but we did Hellgate twice, which was great fun, even my 7yr old sister loved it, even if she was panicking. She thought we were getting her on Colossus or Slammer, poor girl! We explained what would happen and she went along with it, screaming with fear and enjoyment everytime someone jumped out. My brother was set of on a screaming fit when an actor grabbed his foot from under a table right at the beginning. It even had me scared in places too! The funny part was, my brother came out shaking really badly and a supervisor came over and asked if we were ok (he was shaking alot!). we said he had a few scary encounters and the onlything she said was 'good' which was rather rude, but we laughed it off. The Samurai and Colossus was amazing after dark. they both seemed to be much more intense and a lot faster... overall, Thorpe Park wins, but do go to Chessington. its quite fun and you get a special halloween 'Trick-or-Shriek' bag, filled with pranks.
thomas2 Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I've only been to 1 park during winter season and that was Europa Park. It was very good with alot of atmosphere.
apollo210 Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I"ve never been to a Christmas event at anypark, but I'm going to a Christmas fair 2 days after Christmas with Speed Loop (hey Zack and other people on the chat) so doies that count?
CoasterEricHP Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Well for everyone who likes Seuss Landing around Christmas you'll have to go elsewhere for decorations this year. So far this year the shops are decorated and there is Christmas music playing, there's no sign of anything more being done. Grinchmas is now "Meet the Grinch" with no show. So unless Universal is planning on setting up everything extremely late this year it's not happening. Weak. Eric - who suffers in Seuss Landing daily
Adriel Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 EPCOT is wonderful. They have this kind of event that is held differently at each WORLD SHOWCASE Pavillion.
ParkTrips Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I think I will do something different to TPR. I have only been to one park for the Holidays and since I have nothing to compare it to, I am not going to mention any park as best for the Holidays. wow, someone who knows that having only been to one event doesn't necessarily mean its the best I've done Dollywood, IOA and Carowinds... Carowinds was fairly weak, IOA's Grinchmas was quirky and cool, but the more traditional celebration at Dollywood is tops in my book!
disneylanddork50 Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I really like Disneyland at Christmas time. California Adventure is pretty cool too. But Disneyland beats it all.
socalMAN123 Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Magic Mountain! jk Honestly, Disneyland is the best out of the Christmas parks I've been to (the 3). ---Brent
