Tobias94 Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I did just saw this at Gröna Lund's homepage. A new coaster for the whole family will open next year at Gröna Lund. The park has taken down the ferris wheel and it won't be there again.I'm very excited to see what this coaster type will be.A rollerskater? A Little Dipper? Anyway, ride statistics will be released February 14th 2007. Can't wait.
apanblå92 Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 The coaster will be a suspended family coaster from Vekoma it was announced yesterday. The name for the coaster will be ''Kvasten'' it will be 20 m high and travel at a speed of 55 km/h. ''Kvasten'' will be themed to magic. It will open when tha park opens 28th april. http://www.gronalund.com
Janster Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 A lot of new coasters in Europe this year. I'm going to ride most of them this year, including this one.
SharkTums Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Yikes. Is this Europe's first 'SLC in Training'??? Have fun guys! Although if it has the new lapbar only it could almost be fun.
Scaparri Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 ^Seriously. I'm pretty sure I voted the Family SLCs as my worst steel coaster. They aren't the roughest coaster by any means, but for what they are, it's ridiculous.
coastered Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Yikes. Is this Europe's first 'SLC in Training'??? No that's the one at Moviepark Germany

DATman Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 I don't think we can make any judgements about this one yet, as it is a new layout and a new ride system. I hope they did a good job this time, though!
carolinacaniac Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 It has a neat layout, it ought to be fun for the kids, not many family coasters intertwine with bigger rides like that.
crazyrider06 Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Why does everyone get rid of there ferris wheel’s, I like them… but I can’t wait to see what this one will be
Tobias94 Posted March 4, 2007 Author Posted March 4, 2007 Hey everyone. Good news. I saw some red track outside Gröna Lunds entrance. The construction has started. Yay. :
apanbl92 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 new photos overview testing cutting trough the station trains lifthill
Divv3k Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Thanks for these photos! Looks like it'll be quite a fun little ride. When does it open? The trains look quite interesting too, I wish Vampire at Chessington had got new trains like those!
Janster Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 RCDB says april 28th. Thanks for the photo's. Looks like a fine coaster.
viking86 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Looks fun! Should be a great experienc for kids. It will also be nice to get a new credit when Im going back to Gröna Lund in two months.
Timpowes Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Finally Gröna Lund gets a new coaster! Even though it's not as thrilling as I'd want it to be. ;< But it's better than nothing! <:
ECZenith Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Hmm, looks better to me than the junior suspended clones we have here. This thing came out of nowhere!
Airtime&Gravity Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I really like the layout of this, and the new trains look alto better than I originally thought. Hopefully this coaster is as smooth as it looks, and hopefully more custom layouts are built over here.
Tobias94 Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 Thank you very much for the photos. I think it will be very fun.
Calvin Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 America needs some of these, they look like fun. And the cut-through of the white cabin thing is really neat.
Menghini Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Looks great! Hope it will be a little more themed and exciting than Jimmy Neutron's at Moviepark Germany.
