Just thought I'd throw this out there. . .

Rumor on the street is that SDC's new coaster for 2025 is suppose to be Intamin Giga Coaster. The tallest, longest, fastest giga coaster ever. A cross between Millennium Force, and i305.

Can't wait! But I heard that was delayed to 2026

What, it's not an Aquatrax with inversions? Ugh, I'm never going to SDC ever again. They always add such lame attractions.

But rumor on the street now is that the Intamin Giga coaster got pushed back to 2026 because they are putting in a B&M launched, inverted, Aquatrax for 2025.

Does anyone have any idea when SDC is going to announce the festival to replace WorldFest?

I heard they're already having problems with the launch...

Or is it September 31st?

Depends on which "rumor on the street" you're going by.

^It's never too soon.

Ohhhhh, I'm sorry... Wrong Hashtag. That was suppose to be #ItllNeverOpen

Catching up with this thread, I'm not sure what's more annoying: those who take rumors too seriously, or those who fill pages of threads with inane chatter about how lame rumors are.

Rumors come and go for every park. I've been here for over ten years now, and I can't tell you how many times people talked about CP building a dive machine for years until it finally happened. I think the B&M wing rider rumors from earlier came from the same place: people make speculation based on what seems obvious or likely and run with it. You aren't supposed to take it seriously until you see an announcement or hint from the park.

What we know right now is that SDC is almost certainly going to go with this Mack Spinning Coaster concept based on how they've presented it through the surveys. This is how they've done it for years now, most recently with Fireman's Landing and Riverblast. There's usually a leading survey that presents several different options, and then a later survey where they present one concept with different themes. Who knows what happened to the other concepts on the earlier survey, maybe they'll come to fruition someday.

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about the potential of an extreme ride with y-axis spinning. There aren't many frontiers left in the coaster business, but for better or worse this is one of them. Blue Fire is the first to do it, but this will be the first fully-fleshed out concept from the ground-up, right?

Not the most appealing concept initially, but as it has been with some of the other new innovations it could be a lot funner than it initially sounds.

What would it take for SDC/Dollywood to have Halloween events? Is it just too much of a hassle to decorate for Christmas that they don't have the resources to do anything else? What does the Haunt culture look like in Branson?

Herschend is a Christian company and prides itself on family appeal, as Joel Manby said "we would never do anything to violate a mothers trust." A haunt event wouldn't be a good cultural fit. A trick or treating thing with cutesy decorations and whatnot I would think is possible though.

Halloween in general is pretty much skipped in the Branson market. I honestly cannot think of any haunted attractions in the immediate area. There might be some south of the border or up in Springfield, but not around Branson and honestly they don't need it.

They celebrate the Harvest Festival which is a better fit for the park. Not to mention that the Christmas Festival usually starts before Halloween Haunt at WOF even ends. In fact I think the "white glove event" at SDC (the premiere sneak peek) actually took place on Halloween either last year or the year before.

I think it's cute that SFSTL and WOF think they are capable of doing justice to a Christmas event. We all know that SF can barely do a Halloween event (and I hear it is one of the better ones in the chain - so that's sad) so I question their money grab at doing Christmas now.

^I went to Holiday In The Park at SFOG the day before doing Smoky Mountain Christmas at Dollywood and honestly, while Dollywood has more lights and obviously better shows, SFOG goes all out and the park was stunning, I actually enjoyed the themes better since Dollywood doesn't really theme the areas as much, and the show and food offerings at Six Flags were plenty to impress a visitor. HITP is much more impressive than Fright Fest imo and it certainly can hold its own in comparison. Now if SFOG was next door to Dollywood, that would be different.

I was just looking through a review of Wildfire at Kolmården, and I'm really glad that Outlaw Run has a lift hill that actually looks like a wooden roller coaster. Neither of the coasters below look like a wooden coaster.

^In what way do they not look like wooden coasters? sure, they have a steel lift hill structure, but you can clearly see the wood. Plus Kolmården are planning to fill in those gaps on Wildfire with wood anyway.

A wooden coaster looks like this:

Nothing says that a wooden coaster must look like this, but I prefer this look to what RMC does with the appearance. As for quality of ride, RMC does excellent work.

While I do love the truss look on the two coaster posted above, I too agree that I'm glad Outlaw Run has the traditional wooden lift hill supports. I feel like if it had the truss supports it wouldn't "fit in" as well in the park.

Would production and maintenance costs have anything to do with this new trend? Or is it just meant to be aesthetic? So far, RMC is the only one doing this--and on original coasters. Could we see other companies follow suit, or an Iron Horse with this kind of lift?
