As someone who has been an Xbox fan since day 1 dating back 12 years ago, I'll say that Sony absolutely destroyed Microsoft at E3 yesterday. I've also been a PlayStation fan over the years but not nearly as much as an Xbox fan. With that said, I'm switching back to Sony.

Xbox One's used game policy is just stupid. After Sony announced that the PS4 will allow used games without any additional fees, that sold me over. On top of that, the price tag of $399 compared to the One's $499 was a knockout punch to the Xbox. When you break down the specs and overall components within each console, the PS4 is actually slightly better and yet it's $100 cheaper. The PS4 exclusives also appeal to me more than the One's, but everyone has different taste.

A couple of friends of mine and I have decided that were going to get the PS4 first because of the costs of the Xbox One, plus of exclusives, deals, and games.

People are bending over backwards saying that the XBox One is going to replace their entire entertainment console but it's only a "Pass Through" for your cable box and it obviously can't do what AppleTV can do.

I'm not a huge fan of having a gaming console replace my entertainment system. I will be quick to admit that I'm a home theater snob, I am running a very nice setup and have spent a lot of money doing so. I have a receiver that is doing all of my switching and no gaming console in the world is going to convince me to change my mind on that. In my eyes the game console is a very minor part my home theater (I use it for games alone, I've got a stand alone Blu-ray player).

As of right now I do have a preorder in for a launch day PS4 from Amazon. All things considered I'm not 100% sure I'm going to keep that preorder at this point. Amazon doesn't charge anything for preordering a system, so I figured it didn't hurt to grab a spot.

THIS! I did the same thing, with the SAME mindset. Being late to get a PS3 (only owned it for a little over a year), I'm not in a rush to "replace" it anytime soon. PS4 does have have an "attractive" price tag over PS3 launch and more recent XBOXone... I'm also an early adopter of WiiU. So I'm looking forward to its handful of releases later this year and into 2014... The more I think about it, the more I feel I may let my PS4 preorder go. But will hang on to it a little longer for the moment just in case...

I preordered both, but I'll probably sell the Xbox and keep the PS4. The PS4 just seems to appeal to me more overall right now. Eventually I'll probably buy an Xbox for the exclusives, but I'll be pretty satisfied with a PS4 and my PC for a while.

I don't think either console is amazing, but I am leaning towards the PS4. I actually pre-ordered 2, and will try to sell them for Christmas, but I can always return them if it doesn't work. I know some people get annoyed when people do that, but the pre-orders are available to anyone so they really can't complain if they decided not to pre-order it and then decided later they wanted it. Anyways, I saw this video on youtube and thought it was pretty funny. It reminds me of those old Apple commercials that also ripped on Microsoft.

Same scenario here. I have my system set up a certain way and I don't need some game system telling me how to do it right.

I was actually a semi-late adopter to the PS3 (about 1 1/2 years after release) and the original reason we got it was for the Blu Ray. I want to say we have maybe 8 or 9 games with 5 or 6 of them being CoD games that my son just doesn't play anymore. He isn't even interested in getting the newest one that's out.

He's been pushing for a WiiU now because Super Smash Bros. is coming out. That will likely be the next system we get and then a PS4 probably in late 2014 and we'll move the PS3 in the bedroom.

Just decided to purchase Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Ages for the Virtual Console on 3DS. It's been a long time (like, 1999 summer) since I played Seasons and have never played Ages before. I also decided over the past couple days to pick back up on Link's Awakening DX, another one I purchased through VC.

I am currently playing Halo 4, my level is SR77.

I also play Gears Of War 3, my level after I have reached level 100 and re-upped is40.

I also play Rock Band 3 on Hard/Expert guitar, I'm VERY good at it.

From time to time, I will also spend a few hours or more playing Mass Effect 3.

If you want to friend me on Xbox Live, then my gamertag is: D3R Meister.

I was an even later adopter on PS3. I got mine shortly after the slim was released. I had saved up $400 for PS3 and had plans to preorder, however when the higher price came, I couldn't justify the difference. I'm not a starving college student anymore, so I think I may very well go ahead and get the PS4 at launch.

In other news, I've got the Last of Us sitting at my house right now ready to go.

I love how Sony actually cares about the gamers(aka their customers), while Microsoft is just in it for the money.(Dang it Bill Gates! )

TitanFall, Ryse, and Project Spark are all X1/360 games that I'm looking forward to.

Lots of peeps saying sony won E3, but if you push all this policy stuff aside and look only at games, I don't see it that way. Sony's press conference had me falling asleep until the last 20 minutes.

Also... this: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/11/e3-2013-ps4-used-game-restrictions-up-to-publishers

Sony has the better PR department, I'll give them that. But we don't know all the details yet behind any 3rd-party publisher restrictions on their games. We also don't know all the details yet on how sharing games and trading in/buying used games will work on the X1.

The used game policy doesn't bother me since I prefer to buy new so the money goes to developers. Its the 24 hour check in that I don't like. If xbox live servers go down for more then 24 hours, then you can't even play any of your single player games that you have purchased. This puts a big target on microsoft live servers for hackers. The DRM issues with Diabolo 3 and Sim City when the games were released caused a lot of frustrated users since they couldn't even play their game after it was released.

I'll have both new systems in my living room since my roommate has the xbox one preordered, so it will be fun to try both systems.

I've heard a lot of people talking about The Last Of Us and I really want to get it. The only problem is that I don't have a PS3 and won't have one until Christmas at the earliest. I don't want to wait so I was thinking about watching someone streaming on youtube, but at the same time I don't want to know the plot because I will play it eventually.

Last of Us is a great game so far. Very challenging and enjoying the story and how the characters are building. My roommate and my brother hate the game because of how challenging it is. You can't run and gun your way through this game. I'm playing on hard and have easily died 50+ times.

I love the fact that you need to pick your fights carefully in The Last of Us. Sometimes trying to fight your way through an enemy isn't the right solution, sometimes your best bet is to just run like crazy and hope you make it.

^Is the AI as flawed as I've heard? I know that Ellie can be in plain sight of enemies and won't alert them, and I've also heard that the enemies completely disregard her. I don't know if that means in combat or not, but it would ruin the protect and escort aspect if she wasn't even targeted.

I've had to rescue Ellie a few times, but for the most part they are coming for you and leaving her alone. Of course you're a grown adult and she is a little girl, so I never really questioned the realism on that aspect. Funny thing last night I was playing and it was the first time that Ellie has gotten in my way. It was a little annoying, but nothing that really took away from an otherwise fantastic game.

It's better then in Uncharted (and I love those games) where the people with you decide to run in and engage in a gun battle while you're thinking up a stealthy way to take care of the room.
