thomas2 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Surfing on RCDB I found this: http://www.rcdb.com/m/id3676.htm? some statistics: Length: 142 m Height: 25.4 m Inversions: 0 Speed: 59.5 kph Duration: 1:00 Looks like Kirnu isn't the only new ball coaster for 2007!

dr.gumbo Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Looks like Kirnu isn't the only new ball coaster for 2007! Correction, ZacSpin What a name! What are these things atually like
thomas2 Posted October 19, 2006 Author Posted October 19, 2006 ^They are like Ball Coasters http://www.rcdb.com/m/cm8.htm see
neovortex2k Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Thats cool i'm intregied by these ball coasters and this park really needs some different kind of ride to put it on the map. It is a good park but a godd park from like 10 years ago and i appriciate they have little money to play around with. I assume the layout would be something similar to the last photo as it states the height is 25.4 metres but the lenght will be different
Ccron10 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Does anybody have pics of what a ball coaster looks like? I checked the site this afternoon and that coaster wasn't there.
thomas2 Posted October 19, 2006 Author Posted October 19, 2006 ^ http://coastersandmore.de/rides/eas05/eas1.shtml There are pictures in the middle of that page
exmouse Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Zacspin uses a conventional chain lift, Ball Coaster uses LSMs.
jappi Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 I cant see the fun in this the ride time is maybe 14 seconds so why cant they build turns and stuff?
Airtime&Gravity Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 The only bad part about this ride is that it is a clone of the other one being built, but hopefully Intamin can create some awsome custom ones soon. As for the park building this, it should make a good addition, but the ride is to short to make a name for the park with so many other parks in the area, but who knows, maybe this will give Port Aventura/Warner Brothers Movie World some competition.
Wishmaster Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 ^^ You never visited Spanish parks, have you? WBMW isn't bad but it's not that amazing, so I doubt Terra Mitica has any trouble competing with that. As for PortAventura, that park (IMO) is even better than IOA, so they won't really need to worry about any competition. I don't really know what to expect from a Ball Coaster, but I have learned not to judge a ride by its size or appearance. These little things can be just as intense, or even more intense, than most of the giants out there.
ScottBrown Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 so its basicly a intamin 4dish coaster`? More like the Zipper running on a coaster track if anything
okinawaboy11 Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 They sure seem like short coasters. They need to lengthen them up.
Virdu_ Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 But the park new things for 2007 aren't only that 'coaster': In other forums said that there'll be two new 'Great Shows', the Vekoma SLC will be relocated(It'll be in Rome or Greece), a new Intamin 100 metres Gyro Tower, and new trains for de the Wooden, 'Magnus Colossus'. This ride was succesfully 7 years ago, but now is almost mortal, the trains are very old and they aren't adapted to the coaster, the cange of trains is very necessary. Maybe they'll be like Balder train or like SoB trains. ¿How are them? I'll give news about the park, it closes in two weeks, November 5th, and it opens on March/April, they started to build some things three weeks ago, and I'm going to te the park on November 5th obviously, the last day P.D: Sorry about my English...
IceDragon Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 it looks like a coasterball design from RCT3... i really want to do one of them!!!
imbordisux Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 To everyone who said the model looks "too short", keep in mind that it's just that - a model. What was constructed was done as a means of conveying what can be done with the technology, as a sample to give people an idea of what the train is going to look and feel like; that doesn't mean that that's ALL there is to it. No reason to construct a thousand feet of track if all you're trying to show is that the seats spin.
RCfanatic Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 ^ I'm not sure but i think you're talking about the model shown at the Euro Attractions Show 2006 (picture 2), i don't know about the other guys but i always thought this (picture 1) was the "ZacSpin" model for Terra Mítica and Linninmaki. Correct me if i'm wrong. IMO the model (pic 1) looks a bit short, yes, but it can still be fun and a short ride isn't necessarily a bad one. The Prototype shown at the Euro Attractions Show 2006. (Source: Coastersandmore.de) The actual "ZacSpin" Ball Coaster model for TM and Linninmaki. (Source: Coastersandmore.de)
Virdu_ Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Look at the finish of the first track... I think it'll be a good airtime, it does like a "C" and for finish it does an inverted "U". Some news, yesterday there where people in Rome(area of the park) working. Are they starting? Nobody knows And, I've got a question. Does anyone know if there are workers for "Kirnu" in Linninmaki? Bye! Re-Edited Two weeks ago I went to the park, and there were some marks on the floor, in Egypt. Photos: And now, a worker of the park has informed us. They're starting with the Gyro Tower! The Gyro Tower will be the 5th ride in Egypt, with the "Terror Piramyd" "Falls of the Nile" "Akuatiti" and "Alejandria's Harbor", and it'll be in the south part of the area, next to the Self Service Restaurant "KurKur". More info in www.capte.org . The park is in movent (Sorry another time for my English ...
thomas2 Posted October 22, 2006 Author Posted October 22, 2006 I'm really curious how a ride on a ballcoaster feels. You guys think you can compare it to X? Well I'll hopefully find out soon
Virdu_ Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Yo can't compare a BallCoaster with X... Maybe if Intamin works very hard, in a few years we will be able to try a very good BallCoaster, but I don't think that the Terra Mítica one will be better.
ikari Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I'm from Spain but I never have been in Terra Mitica before, but I think that next year I will go to ride that new intamin Ballcoaster!! It would be awesome!!! See you! ^^
Virdu_ Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 A lot of time withouth news... Some photos of the area and the terrain 3 weeks ago. The location of the Coaster: More info Here. We don't know nothing about the theming, but someone said something about Pompei and a Volcano... Nothing official. See yoU!
