jamesdillaman Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Is anybody else here addicted to the History Channel? I can watch it all day sometimes. The stories of real life interest me way more than watching made up crap. I was wondering if i'm the only one, as my girlfriend doesn't really appreciate the programming. She says I'm unique in my interest in History without wanting to go to school for it, but I'm out to prove her wrong. Help me out, Please! You can also post about favorite shows or strange facts you've learned. -James "Watching the history of playing cards right now!" Dillaman
Robbie Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 I do love the history channel if I find a good show to watch I can end up watching for hours, same goes for discovery channel, travel channel, tlc,and the national geographic channel.
CommanderLock Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 History Channel>Anime It's a fact. Seriously, it is! I'd rather watch something about Hitler being on drugs rather than anime! Waay better. Besides, anything on History Channel is instantly awesome. Remember Rome: Engineering an Empire? That was really intriuging. You're not the only one.
FlippyTrick09 Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Phew I thought I was the only one.. Well I'm not really addicted to it, but when my oher friends would be watching Nickelodean and Disney I was buisy watching Discovery, History, and Food channels... I was always more "grown up" then my other friends... I just never like cartoons that much...
mr_teisco_delrey Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Modern Marvels is the show of shows in my book. Throw that in with "Hitler's Drugged Lesbian Fantasies" and I am set. Seriously, it is a great channel. P.S Hows your puppy?
Carnage Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I'm not sure I get it up here. But I watched quite a bit when I was down in Indianapolis over the weekend. The special I watched on the building of the pacific coaste highway was much more interesting then all the basketball and football that was on.
tacoking Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I watched a fantastic show on Georg Luger earlier today. Lot's of great information and visuals in it.
Golfie Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I'm not really for the history channel, but the Discovery channel - now THAT I can watch for the whole WEEK! I'm such a nerd!
weeow Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I like the Travel Channel, History Channel, and the Discovery Channel. Yesterday I watched a really interesting show on the History Channel about automatic pistols. I understand it more now. My favorite part was the segment about Lugers.
ECZenith Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 History and Discovery are my two favorite channels, so no, you aren't alone.
tacoking Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I prefer the Discovery channel. Mythbusters owns.
ECZenith Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 ^ Is it just me, or is one of the guys on the show's wife (the redhead) incredibly hot?
FlyingScooter Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 ^YES, she's a hottie! I love the History channel. I usually put it on when i go to bed. Sleep teaching really works for me. History, Military, TLC and Discovery are my favorite stations. Modern Marvels, Mythbusters, Seconds from Disaster. Tactical to Practical, all my favorites. Thanks, EZ!
thefitness Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Im more of a Travel Channel guy.Only because Samantha Brown is possibly the funniest woman ever She is awesome
jamesdillaman Posted October 14, 2006 Author Posted October 14, 2006 Modern Marvels is the show of shows in my book. Throw that in with "Hitler's Drugged Lesbian Fantasies" and I am set. Seriously, it is a great channel. P.S Hows your puppy? Thanks for asking, he's still very sick, but well enough to where we could bring him home. We switched vets (now we're actually with my future father in law.... ) and he can have no treats at all for at least 2 months. We have to watch him everyday when he's outside so he won't eat anything off his special diet, and he has a shaved stomach from the ultrasound and a shaved patch on his leg from the IV. -James "Watching 'Into the Fire' on the History Channel" Dillaman
USRoadTripper Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 A few years ago, I watched the history of fasteners...staples, paper clips, brads, screws...and it was really really interesting! I had no clue that stuff like that could be interesting! My mom said the same thing about a history of salt mining show that she watched. My favorite was the history of the automobile though. -Julie
