obeygiant Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 Lets just say tonights episode is going to just reveal, reveal, and reveal more and more answers And we finally get to see who Jacob is!! But its odd that his name isn't in the guest list...
larrygator Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 ^OK so who is Jacob, I'm confused It really was another great show, I've thought all along that Ben was not born on the island and was some type of poser, but know I'm confused about Jacob. Is Smoky also Jacob? I'm sure Locke will be miraclously cured by the island in a couple of hours I'm more confused about Richard and his role. Can't wait for next week's confrontation. Dynamite will be used!
obeygiant Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 Jacob is a REAL person You saw him for a split second when the house was shaking I think that maybe you have to be truely special to see him (but why is Ben so special if he was part of Dharma, not the original people?) And what is with Richard?? He hasnt aged a day in 30 yrs! Also, it seemed like he was head of the hostiles, so why isn't he head now? OMG, ONLY 2 EPISODES LEFT!!
BelizeIt Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 "It's kind of hard to celebrate the day you killed your Mom." Well that about sums up Bens childhood relationship with his Father. Once again, we learn that many of the people on this island have had serious issues with their parents. (With patricide being a recurring theme) On to the Episode........... Bens possible link to the Island began when he bursts onto the scene earlier than he's suppose to, or just before his Mothers Third Trimester. (The 3rd trimester generally spans weeks 28 through 40) What did Julia tell us about Mothers not surviving to the 3rd trimester of their pregnancys???) Then Ben's proud Papa runs into Horace, (Hey Man, Namaste) who gets him a kick ass job on the island as a "Work Man" (sweep, sweep, dodge bullets, sweep) At least this job apparently comes with all of the Beer he can drink. Ben meanwhile has regained more control over his legs, but is losing control over his people. This is seen when he acts almost panicked by the lost recorder, followed by Mikhails information about Naomi, and lastly when Locke shows up with his dead kidney thief. (A task that Ben probably thought that Locke would fail to complete) In any case things aren't going as Ben had planned. A key story point in this episode is Ben's first meeting with Richard. We learn that Richard was a member of the Hostiles and that he either doesn't age, or he ages very very slowly. Perhaps Richard is one of the original members of the Black Rock? On to Jacob........ When Ben starts talking to the Chair, you had to wonder if he's lost his mind. But, we soon realize that Jacob Does Exist, and is talking back to Ben. In the scene that followed, I got the impression that Jacob wanted Ben to bring Locke to meet him, Just not at this time. (Since Locke was unable to see him) Jacob then becomes angry and reaches out to Locke when he says "Help Me." Perhaps at that moment a transition occurred, where Jacob will now seek out Locke rather than Ben. This is why Locke heard Jacob speak, and Ben did not. Ben realizes what has just occurred, and panics over his lost connection with Jacob. Now Ben must eliminate his rival, so he does what many leaders do, he shoots locke! Jacob will be interesting character development. It's clear Jacob needs Lockes help, perhaps because Jacob himself is LOST.............
SharkTums Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Ok, just got caught up on the last two episodes...wow, yeah. I'm happy! Ok question though... Are we now back into the 'maybe they are dead and in some sort of purgatory place'? I mean, it does seem possible again. Also, did they decide that everyone liked Jack too much. Cause honestly, I pretty much hate him and his character now. I wish that him and Juliet would just die!
Divv3k Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Producer Carlton Cuse on a recent podcast again debunked the purgatory theory. Seems to me that the found wreckage and bodies is more of a cover up. Elissa you'll be delighted to know, if you don't already know, that the upcoming season finale will be a Jack flashback episode. Anyway, totally loving the show as much as ever right now, It's gonna be a really tough long wait til next February after it goes.
larrygator Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Friends that watch the show have been talking about cloning playing a big part in the plot and I'm really starting to see it as a feasible explanation for alot of the situations. Of course it doesn't explain everything.
stingrock23 Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 This is going to be so tough waiting a week until next week's finale. I don't want to read any spoilers, which have been posted elsewhere, as I'd much rather be floored while watching it. One of the women kind of looked like Cassidy, a woman Sawyer conned in season one.
coastrfreak2000 Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 This is what my face looked like during the last episode: This is probably the best episode yet, IMO. (except the first one)
Nrthwnd Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Elissa you'll be delighted to know, if you don't already know, that the upcoming season finale will be a Jack flashback episode. Hah. You thought so, huh?
DegoRed Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 wow what a way to turn the show on its heels. They totally had me sold on the flashbacks. I guess we know now how they are gonna stretch the show out another 3 seasons. The only WTF moment in the show though for me was the whole thing with Charlie at the end, why he decided to do what he did....god it's tough not putting any spoilers on here.
Nrthwnd Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Well - it's late now, so unless somebody's taped the finale, and not planning to watch it, until say.... tomorrow/Thursday..... They shouldn't be reading this thread now, hmm? But - that was The Big Downer for me - near the end of it, there.
larrygator Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 More questions! OK - if the Jack flashbacks are in the future, how come his dad is still alive. Jack tells the Head of Surgery to go upstairs and talk to his dad. Why did Naomi have a picture of Desmond if Penelope is not associated with the freighter? Is Mr. Widmore trying to find the island separate from Penny. Is Mr. Widmore's company at odds with Mittelos? I'm LOST again. Come on - are we supposed to believe Hurley would be able to drive that VW bus to the beach and then through the sand on the beach.
Ed Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I reckon is Dharma trying to get to the island. Without the sub there is no way to get there, and Ben has been blocking all comms too and from the island.. I'm pretty sure he said something about the people on the boat being angry, which would be the case seeing as he killed about 40 of their team. Naomi was a plant from the start I thought. Who on earth wears that type of gear in a helicopter?? Besides the sound was nothing like that of a helicopter. Personally i'm REALLY annoyed at the flashforwards. I LOVE Kate and want her to live so yay, but Jack..... The writers/actor just can't get it right... I've hated him form the minute go. I wish he had of died in the pilot like they said he would.... DAMN ABC changing it!!!!!!
Nrthwnd Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 ^^ Well, the future can always change, or be changed, yes? I'm just curious what all this is about "Jacob." That was first, utterly freaky the way Ben was acting in that shack. Then Locke 'hears' Jacob. Then, he gets shot and dumped in the pit 'with the others.' Then - the boy shows up to get him onto his feet and out of the pit - and that 'kid' is looking a tad taller and older I'd say on first glance, yes???? All possibly in Locke's head, granted. But still.... Yeah - lots more questions to be answered in (HOW LONG AGAIN???) a "few months time", heh heh. Hope the interest doesn't get (ahem) 'lost' by the new year....
Théo the little french Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Hi! I know I'm very late, but if I understand, in USA, the 3th season is ended! In France it hasn't yet started! We have to wait about 2 or 3 months! Your are so lucky!
CreativeForce Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 I don't know about the future being changed, since the flash foward is really the "now" in the real world. (Remember it's still 2004 or maybe early 2005 in "island" time) I think it's an intresting hole they've dug themselves into and I really hope they planned it out so that they have a shovel big enough to dig themselves out. Since this is the "halfway point" of the entire lost saga, I can see the next three seasons being all about them being on the island and "flash fowards", that would still give you the classic three act structure in a very unconventional way. I just wish we didn't have to wait until Feb.
Nrthwnd Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Hi! I know I'm very late, but if I understand, in USA, the 3th season is ended! In France it hasn't yet started! We have to wait about 2 or 3 months! Your are so lucky! Then, STOP READING THIS THREAD! (spoilers everywhere, lol) And to ^ - I agree. Next three seasons (or so) should be interesting if it all leads to an eventual end. Or beginning. (EDIT: Darn it. Missed it. Ahem. POST #3333! )

There are too much this written, and the most of part are out of my english knowledge..... And I want to keep the suspense

stingrock23 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Having to wait 7-8 months for season 4 is going to be a loooong wait, but at least I'll have the dvd's to watch. I'm thinking it was maybe an "alternate future", through the "looking glass", if you will.
obeygiant Posted May 26, 2007 Author Posted May 26, 2007 I'll just say I partially lost my voice during the finale because I was screaming so much... So much stuff happened I don't know where to begin... I was upset that Locke was in it for only alittle...But, what he was in..OMG! WALT!!! I knew he was coming back, but the question is, WHERES MICHAEL?? I think Ben is right about Naomi..I think she's part of Dharma and Dharma has been trying to get to the island for a while But, OMG, when the producers said there was going to be a flashback shocker, I didnt know it was going to be like this! Now we know why there can only be 48 episodes left Its kind of ironic that Jack has been in such a hero/leader position in these last couple episodes and hes a mess now.. Whose funeral do you think it is? My guess is its either Locke or Ben (but then again why would they leave the island?) Now we have to wait 8 MONTHS til season 4 I think in season 4 there are going to be flashbacks and flashforwards It will be interesting to see who leaves the island and who doesn't
Nrthwnd Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Then - the boy shows up to get him onto his feet and out of the pit - and that 'kid' is looking a tad taller and older I'd say on first glance, yes???? All possibly in Locke's head, granted. But still.... It's been along time since we saw him. Puberty does wonders to teenagers. Um - due in part to the 'time line' of the series? It's only been about uh... 90 DAYS since the plane went down? I don't think puberty works that fast on a kid, lolol. "Something else" is going on with that, methinksss. (EDIT to ^: Could be 'Sawyer' hmm? Never know, heh heh.)
larrygator Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 ^Bill - puberty effects the actor who plays Walt, but that's hard to hide when three years of real time aging occurs over 90 days on the show. My thoughts on Naomi's people, are that they are part of Mr Widmore's company and he has been trying to locate the island to steal the learnings of Dharma for his own good. Maybe Mr. Widmore and Sun's father are in cahoots to rule the world. Who knows?
Groteslurf Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 When will Season 4 start in the Usa ? Is there already a date so that I can put it in my agenda ?
