davisal771 Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 ^I just got rid of it. I think I'm getting adjusted to the program now Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Anyone have any tips for getting a more circular (as opposed to clothoid) loop in Newton2? I'm trying to design a Eurofighter, but I can't get the close to circular loop shape that Gerstlauer uses.
hyyyper Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 You should lower the vertical G's on the top of the loop in relation to the G's a the bottom. More difference = more roundness (in general mathematics)
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Anyone know where I can find the white environment?
davisal771 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 ^ I'm also looking for some more .env Is there a site that hosts them?
inflameswetrust21 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Anyone know where I can find the white environment? i was just about to ask the same thing
coasterlover420 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I am curious as to how Entropy navigates through Newton2. I know the right-click and hold left-click trick, but in the tutorials it seems like there is another quicker and easier way to navigate through space in Newton2. Does anyone know how to do that?
AJClarke0912 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Well, just like you said, it's like the NoLimits Editor. Right Click to make the mouse control the camera, use WASD keys to move, and hold down shift to speed the camera.
coasterlover420 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Oh, I never knew about the WASD keys, that's why. Thanks!
Anac0nda Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I can save and load my tracks on NL just like before, but when I try to find the track files via Windows, I just can't. They just aren't there. So basically I can't share my NL tracks. And also I can't take any pics. Could anyone help me?
AJClarke0912 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 ^Go to the folder where your files should be, and in the toolbar "area" of your file browsing window, find the button for Compatibility Files. Now that you see your files, select all of them, CUT, then press BACK, then PASTE back where they should be. Â It's Vista being stupid and doing it's thing, but you'll have to deal with it. Also, you can only view Compatibility Files in the little browsing window, not the pop-up window when you press "Browse" on a webpage, so you must cut and paste like I said or you can't access them.
FeelTheFORCE Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Can anyone walk me through how to make the quick Intamin transitions, as found on Maverick/I305, using Newton2? I have literally spent hours upon hours total trying to replicate these, but to no avail (not even close, lol). Â Here's what I mean: Â Thanks, help is greatly appreciated.
AJClarke0912 Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Try a sextic transition with 4G's on either side and 1G, 0.5G, or 0G in the middle. If you want more of a hopping-hill-and-twist, that's where you go -0.5G or -1G. Playing with sextics can really make some good elements on your rides. Â So yeah, like I said, try a sextic with 4G's on either side and start decreasing the middle and test the results. That's how I did it.
davisal771 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I'm trying to decide on a project to start on. I'm stuck between 2 ideas: 1. An Inverted Hyper 2. Crazy-A$$ X-car  I'm liking the inverted Hyper idea, it would be something not really ever done before, but the X-car is really attractive as well in the sense that I can be completely unique and original on the elements. Help?
AJClarke0912 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I think the X-Car would be more "accepted" (the inverted hyper is too strange for most people), but it would be nice to see a 200-foot inverted coaster...it's never really been done before. Â Maybe that helps a little bit.
davisal771 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 ^ After a bit of thinking, I think I'm going to go with the inverted hyper. It may a little far-fetched but its an idea I've wanted to try for a while. I'll do the X-car some other time.

I'll post back here if I have any more questions.
jarmor Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Ok...im gonna try and learn newton cause lately I have been "stuck" on projects that require smoother transition but just cant get it by hand building. SO any tips and suggestions...and where do I get it from?
jarmor Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Let me clarify my question so I dont get any more smart ass answers. Does anyone have a suggestion where and which one I should get because I see you guys talk about different versions...being that I dont think its safe to just google something and click a link and download a virus...
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 http://nolimits-exchange.com/news/20/newton2 Â First link in the Google search mightbeawannabe posted.
coasterlover420 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 As it is, it's pretty hard to get smooth transitions in Newton2 (at least that's what I've found as I've been learning the program). It takes a lot of precise numbers and hours of playing around, and I still don't get it completely.
AJClarke0912 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 ^Just because it's hard doesn't mean you can't get smooth transitions. It's far easier (and goes beyond) handbuilding in terms of smoothness anyway, not just because of the heartline but because there are tons of vertices which means more control and less estimation. Â Jarmor, it takes a bit to learn. The learning curve is a little bit more steep that NoLimits handbuilding, but it's far shorter to be decent with it. Watch online tutorials for help (made by the creator on Newton2) and post your projects and tests in NoLimits-heavy forums like NoLimits-Exchange to get good feedback and criticism (or just TPR, whatever you feel). It's all about shaping, transitions, control, and learning to use the types of transitions and lead-ins/lead-outs. Â It's just different...you adjust to it, then get better, then make realistic rides. In two days.
coasterlover420 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Does anyone know of any links or if anyone can send me the files that are supposed to be in the "Packages" folder for the track packager? I'm pretty sure mine never installs properly and there are some crucial files missing, because it acts normally but never actually installs packages.
