Olsor Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 After 200+ pages, the "news" is met with a resounding thud. Hey, how about that Griffon ride!
SlimCoasterRider Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 SCREAMSCAPE.com has got the info posted today!
TheArchfiend Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Ceder Point's new roller coaster will be an Aquatrax. I'm convinced.
DailyBugle_JL Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 I dont know if this has been posted but it seems there are still breaking some kind of record. This last minute batch of speculation is getting me all excited. Check out the Toledo News if you havent already.
redunzelizer Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 aquatrax? Nope. Not any more. Now it's PETATrax! Fresh live cattle, placed right on the rails for each turn. To run over! Hey, it's called "Maverick" after all...

redunzelizer Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 That article said nothing about any records being broken.Quote: "They always introduce a unique ride and I believe it will be something we've never seen before," she said. The ride will have elements where the technology will be familiar, but will have the most of something, she hinted." Take it for what it's worth, but it *has* been said there.

I read the article twice and somehow missed that both times. Odd. OK. Cool. Now what's it going to be? Speed? If it goes 130 mph, they're going to have to throw brakes all over the place because of the size of the elements. Length? It doesn't appear to be able to have more than 8,000 feet of track. Most of ... hmm. Inversions? I guess I'll have to go with that now. That's great. I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Cedar Point has gone far too long without building a coaster with inversions. This is a much-needed ride.
coasterlover420 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 The park plans to announce specifics next Thursday.
pdon Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 The screamscape layout does look really fun. Nice to have a really themed and interactive ride at Cedar Point.
coasterlover420 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 The ride will have elements where the technology will be familiar, but will have the most of something, she hinted." Hmm... Could that be INVERSIONS!!???
DailyBugle_JL Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 I must say the ride looks awesome. Its themed too. Cedar Point is doing something they havent done since Disaster Transport. Cant wait til next wenesday to learn all the facts.
DragonKhan Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 My bet is that the tunnel will house 8 Heartline Rolls
Johnny Upsidedown Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Thats great, about what I had expected to see. Looks like a great family ride with some good thrills for the adventures ones. Looks to have some good themeing to the ride also.
DarkStitch626 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 If Only!. lol Thats the dark "Drive through for food" part of the ride.
coasterfreak101 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Woah. Looks like a great ride, not just a record breaker. Mr. Stengel did good for his 500th coaster! Now, I wonder what this type of Intamin will be called...I'm sure they'll come up with a new name for this one.
DarkStitch626 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 "The not so aqua of trax cheese & Nacho coaster of hot sick 95 degree dropping madness?" It sounds good to me!
coasterfreak101 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 ^Yes! Just what I've been dreaming of for all my life!
coasterdude5 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Nice, two "beyond vertical" rides in one season! 2007 is gonna be great.
DragonKhan Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 I'd say it's still an accelerator... Love the ride already... Plenty of speed, tighht turns, drops, hills..... just about everything. And I absolutely DIG the length!!!
