sfne2005
So I decided on a whim to use my two days off and take a trip up to Six Flags LaRonde. I've never been to Canada before, but plan on returning REAL soon. So I grabbed James (Canobiefan) and made the 5 hour drive up. I'll let the rest of the photos tell the rest of this tale. Awww, pretty wallpaper pic. If all goes well, we'll be making the trek back up next weekend....this time during park operating hours. Au revoir! Half of the people at LaRonde today are in this picture. James says this is the Intamin Standup. I will take his word for it. So to make use of our time, we took some pics from the backside of the park. No trespassing occured during this photo op. Here is the Grave yard. Well, since this is a coaster site, here are some coasters. This gopher (or is it a beaver?) was the only other living creature at the park. And he wouldn't open Goliath for us. Stupid gopher. Stupid stupid stupid. Oh crap. I only see James and Tellewok. Where are all the people? Ahhh, Goliath. The main draw for me. James is all about credit whoring. WTF? This Telletubby wearing Ewok clothes greets us at the entrance. Our view from our cell. Thanks James. I guess that's what I get for smuggling you across the border. See? Montreal....we're getting close. The immigration checkpoint. The way we were treated made us feel like we were part of the Al-Quaida. Would you let James into your country if you had a choice? James and I enroute to LaRonde. Like the french word? It means "on the way to".

Carnage
lol I can't beleive you did that. Though from what I hear about La Ronde they did you a favour closing the park. Saved you the pain of actually have to go in.
awclark
i don't get it. Why didn't you check to see the hours of the park instead of assuming it would be open? That really sucks though. Funny too.

YoshiFan
The standup and Vampire/BTR look exactly the same when the park is open as in they have no trains on the track (other than in the station). When I was in Montreal last week, we took a bus tour of the city and we drove by La Ronde (we were near the park for a few minutes). The whole time I didn't see a train go through the circuit of either ride and the lines looked ridiculous with Vampire's line was out of the station, down the stairs and into the switchbacks despite the park looking rather empty. I'm almost sure that the park being closed those days is a new addition. I got a brochure for the park when I was in Montreal and I am almost certain the schedule on the back had park listed as being open every day in August (I'll check when I find the brochure).
