Now that yahoo is in the overhead image game, here's a pic from Kennywood. You really don't know the dates of these photos, but what's that on the thunderbolt? Tunnel? Tarp? Huh!?!?!? You can see this is off season...

Likely a tarp. Those sat photos of Kennywood were taken before the park opened in 2005 with the new entrance (you can see the construction going on in the sat pix). Sadly, they aren't live photos .

Google doesn't have hi-res images for Knoebels, but here's a circa-1993 picture from Microsoft's free version of Terraserver:

You can barely see Phoenix (station, above-ground tunnel, covered brake run, and part of the first turn-around), and I assume the obvious steel coaster is Whirlwind but I've never seen it in person.

I know I am bringing up an old thread. Google maps is a fine way to peek at a park but I have found something better. Its called local.live.com; they have something called the birds eye view that it simply stunning.

What I love about the birds eye view on live.com is that you can sometimes get a look at the same area durring different time periods, depending on what image loads. For instance, there is an image of Knotts Berry Farm with Silver bullet and there is also a picture taken when Windjammer was still in place.
