Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

^I was also thinking about that too. It most likely won't be for Valleyfair, but hey, anything is possible right now. And that is great news, if the project was canceled he probably would have told you. So this probably means the plan is still being planned, or it has been confirmed already. I hope we see an announcement about Excalibur soon. The park needs change, and the removal of Excalibur along with the new improvements we are expecting to see in 2016 are bound to bring exciting things in the future.

Wasn't there a public hearing back in May about this? Why would Valleyfair want the publics objection on this? I would think by now they would have the permitts approved and Valleyfair and Cedar Fair are paying for this so why do they need the publics opinion on this? Doesn't Valleyfair own all the wetland areas in the back of the park anyway? Couldn't they do what they want with there own land and just get permitts? I like the idea of expanding the back of the park for possibly a new coaster and water park expansion.

Even though Valleyfair owns the land it is still a wetland in a nature preserve. They would need to get approved permits before they could do anything with the land. With this kind of permit the general public is allowed to give their objections if they wish. Valleyfair did not invite the public to object, they have no choice but to let the public object if they want. Then, if there are objections, Valleyfair and Cedar Fair address those objections and hopefully come to an agreement. This is the reason why its so hard to build in areas like this. We all wish it was as simple as just filling in the low land and building new attractions but its not.

Business: From now until Labor Day, Thursday's-Sunday's should be avoided. This includes the newly improved Soak City. If possible get there for early ride times. After that, go to the back of the park for Renegade and Mad Mouse. High Roller has best times at night. Wild Thing will have best times at night as well. Route 76 is beautiful at night. And the All Day Dining Plan is a great deal if you plan on staying from open to close. Anybody else have anything to chime in on?

I don't think Fridays aren't that busy. I'm off Monday's I think Monday's are the best days to go and the slowest if you want to visit the water park on a hot day do that first because it can get crowded specially on weekends. If the water park is crowded on hot days and weekends if you want to plan to do the rides/roller coasters when the water park is busy everyone might be at the water park instead of being in the park and the chances of lines being long won't be busy because I went and did the water park half the day when it was hot humid last weekend then did the park all the rides/roller coasters weren't that busy pretty much a walk on Renegade will have the longest wait if you want to ride that get there real early at 10am you can do re rides till about 11am stay on twice before you have to go around and you can do the whole park in three hours I've done it many times on a Saturday and Sunday hope this helps some.

Renegade hasn't been running two trains expect on the 4th of July when I was there I haven't seen them run two trains on a regular Saturday unless the line passes the tunnel then they will add a second train like I said go there right at 10am ride till noon get about two hours of re rides and you can stay in your seat unless there's someone in line and if you get off find a open seat to ride again they will let you do that twice then you have to walk around. I'm also going to be there on Saturday riding the Extreme Swing first for a half hour early rides season pass holders

Is Renegade still running only one train? I'm going to VF tomorrow and if it's still down to one train, I probably won't get many rides on it considering it's a Saturday .

Not sure about tomorrow, but it ran two trains today until 2:30 pm without a problem. Moreover, Renegade was putting in some good work today. I was able to ride 4 times in about 45 minutes, although the park didn't seem too crazy today.

Back at the park today my off day the coke machines aren't there anymore by the amphitheater I rode Power Tower I also notice on the Turbo Drop it likes to slow before reaching the top supposed to do that? Rode Excalibur one time this morning running kind of rough.

Does anyone know what's going on with it? I noticed today that it basically stops for a second three-quarters of the way up to the top and it seems to go awfully slow. It's not both sides, it's just one. Kinda freaky to me.

I'm at Renegade right now waiting for it to open Mike told me they replace the chain lift on Friday so they can run two trains regularly. Renegade is running two trains this morning. Got on northern lights around 11:40am after the ride was finished got stuck on the ride for ten minutes because they couldn't get the loading platform to come back up they had to call maintence to bring it back up after the ride operators handed out free water first time getting stuck on northern lights.

The CEO Matt Ouimet is supposed to be in the park either Monday or Tuesday so keep an eye out for him

That's awesome! Where did you hear this? Is it confirmed? Maybe he is here to help announce our new 2016 attraction and beyond!

They told us last week that some of the higher ups in the company where coming for an audit and then they told the supervisors yesterday that he was one of the people coming. It's basically just to see how the park is doing and take a look at the recent expansions
