GwaziBSRider1
Asking to walk on the coasters is a bit much, honestly. I think a great event for VF would consist of morning and night ERT, a catered lunch and/or dinner, photo walk-backs of a coaster or two, and maybe a Q&A with some of the higher-ups. Don't forget some of the perks, too, like free parking, discounted or free FastLane, free soft drinks, and discounts on premium rides. If they held the event in the Fall, they could even possibly do a Haunt construction tour.
ariznglori
Found some old concept art from the Galaxy Theater and the arcade. I love the checker-stamped dyed concrete and hope they one day carry that out throughout that part of the park--right now it looks like the same color. When was the Galaxy Theater built, anyway? It must not have been too long ago if Wild Thing was already built at the time.
VFVSGirl16
If you're going through some hardcore offseason blues, you should check out my blog. I just uploaded a TON of photos from the 2014 season. Not to mention you can read a ton of reviews from the past season. Enjoy! https://livelaughlovee13.wordpress.com/valleyfair-photography/

I also agree, it would be nice to see checker-stamped concrete.

GCI Wooden
Ok everyone, just heard back from Mr. Frazier. He is going to have his marketing director call me to discuss details about restarting a coaster craze event! What sort of things would you like to see? This is not a for sure thing yet but its a possibility. Respond asap cause i don't know when he/she will call. Tour of a maintenance shop, coaster walkback(s), morning and night ERT, Q&A, general event stuff like that. I would love to be able to walk up a lift hill, but how realistic is that? Is it even a possibility?
VF15
So, if this possible enthusiast event came to reality, would you have to be a part of an official coaster club to participate? If so, I might have to join club TPR soon. Looks like Corkscrew's train colors will finally match the track colors this year. From VF's Twitter. The yellow/orange will go better with the track, but the blue wasn't bad either.
VF15
What ride should get the next new lighting package? I love the dramatic effect on the Ferris wheel. Kinda want to see Wild Thing's lift hill all lit up like Millennium Force. They already have Wild Thing's lift hill lit up. I took this picture of it when I was at Valleyfair at night last July, and I think it looks really nice this way. Sorry about the blurriness. ariznglori
I know, but I think it needs to be brighter/more vivid. Like this...a new LED package would be cool and really enhance the whole park at night.

It wouldn't be as bright sense the support structure is a darker color instead of the bright white.

Yeah, dark green supports (I'm assuming you're talking about Wild Thing) would look a lot different than Millennium Force's white supports. I would like to see new lights on Power Tower, though. Snowyowl1028
Actually something rather realistic would be a B&M floorless! Dorney Park has an awesome one bought for 13 million dollars. I feel like it is one of the most possible options after inverted. When we get a new coaster I like the idea of it taking up part of the parking lot over by dino land and then they just expand the parking lot. For colors I really feel either blue or red or white will be in it. Those are all hugely popular colors for coasters and high roller is the only one that uses it, (and steel venom if you count it's supports) but a likely color scheme I am hoping for is the one Banshee at Kings Island has. Again, I don't think anyone can just predict it, but I am taking in the facts and I can see a red and blue floorless coaster coming to valleyfair's parking lot in 2016 to celebrate the parks 40th birthday! Thanks guys for reading my thoughts!

ariznglori
That sort of raises the specter of a relocated Vortex (either CGA or Carowinds, don't matter which really) with floorless trains and paint job. Especially if Cedar Fair finds Rougarou's transformation successful, which it most likely will be, since it was said somewhere that they're looking into other stand-up to floorless conversions, and moving a coaster is cheaper than getting a new one. And will Carowinds miss Vortex with Fury there? Probably not. But if you squint at the video and imagine the cars are floorless, you can see it may still be a fun twisty ride with inversions that Valleyfair really shouldn't shun. It could probably fit in that parking lot space as well--compact, no height problems to speak of... come to think of it I wouldn't mind getting. But still hoping for more on the 40th anniversary. Edit: It does matter. I'd want the Carowinds model.

Y'all and your logic...now I unreasonably, unapologetically want Wild Thing to have a white lift hill for 2015. True about Power Tower though, when I rode it at night half of its uplighting was off. I asked the ride ops why and if the lights could be turned on and they didn't know. Majorly disappointed--I'm a freak for great lighting. But big LED floodlights aimed up the tower should be super cheap on the electric bill after the initial investment, and they'd be able to change the colors for different holidays with a press of a button, like red white and blue around the 4th of July and orange and green for Haunt. VF15
I assume that little building they're constructing must be that yellow building that is in the concept art, which would probably be for getting towels and renting lockers.

ariznglori
I'm pretty sure it houses infrastructure too, its foundation is very deep and it's positioned so strategically between the new slides and the new splash pad. I'm loving how this slide complex is going to double the thrill options in the waterpark. It's really a very substantial addition and certainly bodes well for continued expansion. I wonder what else they will do in future expansions. Where can they go from here?
RCjunkie
^ They are going to have to remove the old slides on the other half of the park to create more room. Just like they removed Hydro Blaster (even though that was external to the water park it still was adjacent to it so the same idea.). Looping Starship can be re-located also to create more room.
