ariznglori
I think the colors will balance out the heavy use of white and blues in the older part of the waterpark, as well as the blues of the wave pool. Expecting the splash pad to be very colorful as well.
RCjunkie
^ Also per the concept art the two tallest slides will be blue and light blue with alternating sections of both colors from top to bottom. It does not look like those slide parts (plus more of the colors shown) have arrived yet so it should look even more colorful when done.
Snowyowl1028
Can someone tell me what parts of the park the height limit does not cover?
ariznglori
I'm pretty sure there's a diagram floating around somewhere that shows the lowest restriction is in the center of the park, over its tallest rides. The restriction laxes toward Route 76 and the very back of the park...I think.
Coaster Curt
Yes as I has said I hope it isn't an invert. The problem I see with inverts is that you have very few great places to ride on that coaster and that being the front seat. I enjoy riding coasters and seeing everything around not just the seat in front of me and the track above. Also with VF being a smaller park an invert that might get built will more than likely be small and not all that enjoyable, it certainly won't be Banshee or Raptor. I would much rather have something like a mega lite something similar. I know there are no mega lites in the U.S as of right now but a person can hope right. VF15
^ I see your point on not being able to see much on an invert, it doesn't necessarily have to be Raptor or Banshee-sized to be a great ride. Batman: The Ride is only ~100 feet tall, but that ride packs lots of forces into it. Not saying Valleyfair should get a Batman clone, it's just that an invert can be small and intense when done right.
ariznglori
I was imagining something along the lines of Batman as well, which is a fantastic, intense invert on a small scale. Valleyfair could justify that easily, but not a Banshee.
ariznglori
It looks like the paths over by Camp Snoopy are getting torn up by construction equipment. Is that how far back the slide towers will be?
valleyfairfanatic
They'll be as far back as where hydro blaster used to be. They might be repaving it or tearing it up to put piping in.
GCI Wooden
Really, if we get an invert, I'm thinking it would be more like Talon or Patriot more than a Batman: The Ride type coaster. I don't know why, though.
Mossed
Got my Platinum pass today! Looking forward to some Cedar Fair fun. Also excited for these water slides, as I've always been a water park fan and have yet to go to anything better than Cedar Points (which is mediocre)
ariznglori
Patriot was 14 mil, and I believe the Batman clone at SFGAdv was 8-10 mil. I haven't been on Patriot, but I have been on Batman at SFGAm, and I have heard that the Batman clones are a superior ride experience. I'd like to see us get a smaller B&M invert that delivers in intensity in the vein of the Batman coasters than a larger B&M that may waste millions on an inferior ride experience. Valleyfair has plenty of coasters that are fun for families with little intensity, and the invert would hopefully help shore up the gap.
VF15
It looks like the paths over by Camp Snoopy are getting torn up by construction equipment. Is that how far back the slide towers will be? The slide towers will only be going as far as where Hydroblaster and that old Games island used to be. It's a good thing that they're ripping out that path because it had lots of cracks and potholes in it, and it should be a lot smoother path this year, assuming that they really have ripped it out and will repave it. The other path I think should be repaved sometime is that stretch at the front of the park from The Wave to Monster because it has some of the same problems as the Mad Mouse midway. Mr. Frazier told me that when we do get a new coaster that he is really pushing corporate for something unique. He would prefer to not have a clone. valleyfairfanatic
If we do get a coaster next year, I hope they tease at it during the season. I love it when parks do that, it makes the experience more fun, gets more people interested, and builds hype. By the way, the sign is still standing! It seems like most Cedar Fair parks tease when they are getting a new coaster, so, yes, hopefully VF does the same thing whenever it happens. A bit surprised the old sign is still up, but they still have plenty of time to put the new one up before Opening Day. It will be interesting to see what the new sign looks like. _koppen
The slide parts have arrived! Interesting, they look to be from Whitewater. I have no idea why I excepted this to be from Proslide, considering Cedar Fair have recently bought from Whitewater mostly. That brown may actually be a rich red color that shows up more in bright sunlight. The colors in the concept art look like dark red, dark orange, light orange, and a pale yellow (or is it green? Not sure ). This. They are for sure not brown. I would guess they are the dark orange color.

_koppen
Whoops! I stand corrected . In my defense the slides look a lot similar. It's actually very easy to see the difference, once you learn it. Proslide and Whitewater uses different manufacturing techniques for their body slides. This is from Proslide. It looks like regular water slide finish. This is from Whitewater. Notice that it's much more smooth and shiny. Same thing goes for their translucent slides. ariznglori
The Whitewater slides are definitely more visually appealing. Glad we're getting slides that will look so sleek, it really will make the park feel more vibrant and active.

Not enormous, but definitely a big step up in quality. It unfortunately looks like a splash pad that you'd find a local city water park, but it's certainly better than the existing Splash Station. Sorry for going off-topic, but I was just wondering, what are everyone's thoughts on Power Tower? For me, I want to be a fan of it, but I never get off either version of Power Tower feeling particularly thrilled. I personally prefer the Space Shot side because the launch has some decent forces and a good floater air pop at the top, but after that it is a leisurely trip down. As sad as it sounds, I use the red Turbo Drop towers more from observational purposes than to get a thrilling ride. I'm not suggesting that PT should be removed because it is still one of the park's most popular rides, and it's a park icon that helps define the local skyline, but I just find it disappointing that the tallest ride in the park is one of its tamer rides.
